Any Tips For Digital Painting?
 

I've just started working with digital painting and if you have some tips I'd love to hear them. Here's my first attempt...

What program are you using?
I do a lot of digital painting but animals are my weak point, so good job on the fur!
What brushes are you using?

I actually found a person on DA that had a tut for painting digitally. It's helped a lot.

I use photoshop and simply the brushes that come with the program, but I use the smudge effect a lot on the under layers. It makes it look much better.

Digital painting? Like airbrushing? I do that... I think that the best tip is "multiple layers are your friend". Anything else I would have to know what program you use. I use photoshop (5.0) so I could probably give you tips with that... I don't really know how to use any other art program though.

As for the picture you did, I think you did a great job. The fur does seem a bit clumpy... Maybe a smaller brush would of been better? But overall it's great. I'm not very good at animals myself, so the shaping is way better than I could of done ^.^;
