I had blue and I loved it. <3
Me and my Blastoise were so cool. 8) |

Please continue to use this thread to discuss older Pokemon games.

Oh wow.
I haven't played Pokemon in forever. D: I used to play it 24/7 on my Gameboy Color. (: I think I used to play Red Edition...and Yellow Edition. (I knew the hack in one of them to capture a Mew. YARHARHR) What an awesome kid, I was. 8D |
Yellow is my fave. I love pikachu and it was the first game I ever got for a gameboy (I had to barrow my friends old b&w gameboy to play it....) and ya....
*sighs* I miss those days. : D |
I have blue and red. Originally I got one and my husband got the other and we traded back and forth so both of us had a complete pokedex. I like using Pokemon stadium on the n64 to export my gameboy pokemon and use them. Well, I don't actually do that anymore, but my son likes to. Since all my pokemon are level 1oo x.x;
I used to be a trainer in the local pokemon league back then. I taught kids how to play the card game and passed out badges and what not. It was fun. Too bad Pokemon went down hill since then... I still have several thousand cards ^.^; And a bunch of old pokemon games, plushies and collectibles... Most of which have been passed down to me Pokemon obsessed son ^.^; |
I love pokemon blue and red. It's amazing how they are still playable after all this time. So much fun. Although I could never bring myself to re-start my pokemon blue and get rid of my darling little bulbasaur. How I luffled him. It's such a classic, and a shame that the franchise just doesn't have that re-play value about it anymore.

all pokemon games in GB, GBC, GBA and NDS are my favorites... i like so much the Pokemon games, and enjoy all... probably my FAVORITE of all is Pokemon Yellow... cuz is the original... i like it so much i can stay aaaaaall day long playing it... and never will get bored of they... y favorite pokemons are... Pikachu, Vectreebell, Fearrow, Blastoise, Charizard and Golem... my alternative.... Gyarados, Alakazam, Gengar, Electabuz, Dodrio and Dugtrio :D (in da Yellow version, of course...) else on da R&S are.... Vectreebell, Blaziken, Gyarados.. maybe the same than in da Yellow, but, some other too xD, well, i dont have the D&P version right.. but... i'd like to play those versions too, i like the graphics, and new pokemons... thats all, i think
VERSIONS I OWN: Yellow Red Blue Green Gold Silver Crystal Ruby Saphire Emmerald Fire Red Leaf Green TCG Puzzle Challenge Pokemon Pinball Pokemon Pinball R/S only i dont have the NDS versions :( and TCG2 xD |
Haha. Pokemon Red and Blue.
All of the pokemons looked the same and had a huge gray blob on them. (good old days. Now they all make sounds and move.) You can get all 150 pokemon with just blue and red. However you cannot get #151 Mew legally unless you went to the Nintendo competitions in real life. (which I don't even think they let you get them anymore. I however, did get mine legally. xD.) I thought Gold and Silver was the best of the whole game series. There were so many things wrong with it. (talk about unlimited cheats without the Gameshark. haha.) |
Wow, this brings me back abit...
I remember those days, playing pokemon on an emulator on my computer because i couldnt afford a gameboy. i finally got one and i got pokemon yellow. my favorites are still gold and silver but nothing beats the insane hacks my friends and i used to make to throw each other off. I did all kinds of crazy things. i once gave a pinsir lock-on to go with his guilotine attack. i gave a marowak fly, surf, and a few other things by mistake but it scared the hell out of my friend... we did that as long as we were able before they stopped making those kind of codes for the games. but overall we did it to have fun and didnt let the hacking take over. I had a mew, it wasnt legit since i never got into the game in time to do it the "right" way, so i improvised. The saddest day of my life was the day that my rival (and ex girlfriend) told me she was getting out of the game and sold me her games. i havent really played since, its just a shame i cant find anyone to play against me.
|
Haha, I used to play those two games. xDD They were really fun, 'cause it was before my discovery of how interesting a computer was. :lol: My cousin helped me out on most of the game, 'cause he's better at it.. eventually, I lost the games. ><;;
|
I want Yellow ;_; but I remember when the games came out...I was the only one of my friends WITHOUT a GameBoy or GameBoy Color, but I'd always play my friend's files or watch them do it themselves. It was really cool back then. Now I think the new versions are tacky.
|
I have yellow and it's on my desk, I can't get my advance to play it at the moment. However I do know I have a Pikachu that actually knows surf in there due to I had some one trade me that.
|
Man i remember playing those in, i think, middle school XD. I had blue version :3
edit: i think i'm going to rebuy all the old ones. I have my game boy color still XD (i use my DS though, for most everything) |
I have red, and I love it!
|
I own two reds and a blue. They are both amazing! I think I also have yellow, but yeah, they are amazing. Well when every pokemon you have is at its highest rank xD. Yes, I played through the games way to many times.
|
I loved Pokemon red and blue. I had Red. I played those games hours. Yellow was ok. Pikachu got annoying.
|
I still have those versions and yellow <3
I think the latest pokemon game in my possession is Pokemon Gold. I haven't been able to get the later ones but I'd love to play them. As for yellow Pikachu was my favorite so I liked playing it but I miss Ash being in the games and the original feel. Now it's just really drawn out and annoying to me. ><; I'm going to have to dig out Pokemon red and blue now. XD I've beaten them both so why not start over. >w< |
My first gameboy game was Pokemon yellow. ^o^ I LOVED Pikachu!
Then my dad got me Pokemon Gold which I played with my lil sister. My favorite is Pokemon Silver, the first to have a girl I believe. But someone stole it. And I stopped playing Pokemon since. T-T |
A few months ago I brought out my GB color and started playing Pkmn Red. I couldn't stop laughing because the graphics were so bad. I played it for like 3 minutes before becoming bored. However, when I first got the game (Wow. Long time ago.) I remember thinking it was the best thing of all times.
|
I own every single pokemon game ever made except for two of the newer ones. red and blue were some of my faves. I beat them and yellow completely. you know you don't really get anything for completing the pokedex except gratification..and then loss of interest. I haven't touched all three of them because I've finished them. I even have mew and mewtwo on them I believe.
|
I haven't played those two games in YEARS. I got them maybe when I was...6? Who knows, but I loved them. I remember for the longest time, I couldn't figure out how to get out of the room you start in XD
Sadly, I never had red. I had blue and yellow, though. I don't know why some people hated yellow so much. I guess it was pretty fanservice-y though, what with Pikachu and all. I really miss blue, though. I could probably NEVER find it, no matter how much I'd like to now, thanks to this thread. The newer games just are not the same. They don't have that classic feel, and I'm beginning to realize why people say there are way too many pokemon, and how the first 151 is best. We have what...500 now? :/ |
Yellow was my first pokemon game! Please, stop dissing iiiiiiit! [/dramallama] I must agree, Red and Blue are better. Whoever in Japan who decided getting Pikachu as your first Pokemon and having Brock (whose pokemon are resistant to the electric rats like Pikachu) as the first boss was seriously insane. Of course, I trained Pikachu to level 20 to beat Brock, rather than just getting another Pokemon. I was expecting the sprinkler system to defeat Onix, like in the TV show! But I looked after that Pikachu like I was really Ask Ketchum. I only trained Pikachu, only used Pikachu, always got sad when pikachu got sad, and cried when I accidently erased my savegame. I was very emotional about my pixels when I was too young to know better. The new games are the same as the old ones, except they look better and have more pokemon. There are too many pokemon, which makes it impossible to "catch 'em all" unless you spend 20 hours on Pokemon a day, and that really takes away all the fun. |
