Um.....
Edward from twilight and new moon |
I have no ill will toward the characters, but i do yell at them when they do the stupidest things or when they don't do something they could have to prevent future complications.((literally sitting there yelling at a book, i know, i know, it's stupid)) I'm reading a series called I's' and the main character Ichitaka is such a dork.

There has been a lot of characters whom I've hated as I read the books, but the current one would have to be Pip, in Great Expectations, mainly because I'm reading that book right now for English class. He thinks so highly of himself, and is ashamed of the only people who are not ashamed of him. He insults the people he thinks are below him, and takes advantage of the kindness that is bestowed upon him. He just really aggravates me and I wish him a slow and painful death.

Hmm, I have one for a vampire series I have read,..Hated Him!
But form Harry Potter - Umbridge, Corneales Fudge and Voldimort of corse. Boy I need a life >_> |
I hate the guts of Lieutenant Wesley Fletcher from Cherish the Dream by Katherine Harrington. I hate him so much for killing Thomas Gordon, the twin of Theodora Gordon, the only female in the expedition.
I also hate Bastida from A Pirate's Love by Johanna Lindsay because he kidnapped Bettina, who was pregnant at that time, and he also did slave trading. But I don't hate him as much as Fletcher. I hate Bernd from The Lady of the Labyrinth by Caroline Llewellyn just because of the fact that is is hate-worthy. Ok, maybe not but yeah. I just hate him. I also hate Georgie (a woman) and her mother Elizabeth for being responsible for the death of Cerise's sister, Maddie. This is from the book Allure by Jo-ann Power. The two women were also responsible for the copying of the famous sculpture (just in the book), the Allure. Wow!O__O I've been talking about these books in my other posts in this forum. |

I don't think there is one character in any of the books I've read that I've really hated. I tend to not like the writer rather than the characters, even the slimy ones. |
I guesss i would say Claudia from Loser. She was so cute and funny. It was hilarious!
|
Walder Frey of A Song of Ice and Fire.
Think Larry Flynt, in a Medieval setting. Guh. Boromir of Lord of the Rings. Just something about him gets under my skin... D< Inspector Javert of Les Miserables. Nothing against the character, just the sheer level of suspicion and obsession towards an innocent man makes me loathe the man. And yes, Raoul is an annoying git of a boy. But then, Christine is a foolish girl, so they make a perfect couple. |
I really really dislike those characters who are shallow and are completely vain! Like one from the hit Tv and book Princess Tutu. I hate Fakir!!!
|
Off of the top of my head, I'd have to say.
sgt. Johnson from the halo books |
Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter, Galbatorix and now Murtaugh in Eragon/Eldest, and quite a few others. I get way too involved in books...

My girlfriend recently had me read a book, summon the keeper or some such. There was a charechter by the name of dean, (yes I know I should not leave his name in lower case, but he doesn't deserve better.) He apparently developes a liking for the main charechter, however he's a worthless little Bi7c#, and puts up with being in a relationship where he gets nothing for it, is brutally innocent, doesn't stick up for himself, ughhh he frusterates the hell out of me, makes me just want to throw in back in the basement and leave him there for being so pathetic. </ end rant >

so i agree with earlier comments of dislike for Clarissa in the Bloody Jack series- snobs really bug me and some other big ones are: Voldemort, Cho, and.... Harry Potter, not all the time but in the last two books i just wanted to shake him- he was soooo winny! he had his moments where he seemed to redeem himself but then alas he'd bug me again in the next few pages... To me he's kinda like that little brother whom you hate and love.... but mostly hate lol |

Umbridge from Harry Potter.

Mr.Poe in the Series Of Unfortunate Events. At first, I thought he was okay. But then I realized, he was kind of bizzare. He was constantly sick, and I don't mean with a serious disease or anything deadly. He was just always with a cough or cold. It got overly repetitive and kind of annoying at one point. Also, there was a newspaper printing lies about the orphans who he knew for years. It said the children (the orphans) were murderers are were terrible people and all that. Mr.Poe believed every word of the newspaper and never gave the children a chance to explain how it wasn't true or things they did had a good purpose. He was ignorant D:< . He was also easily tricked, it was just sort of dissapointing >___>

Mrs Coulter from His Dark Materials scares me.
The only character in a book who I'm worried about if they come to life. XD She can harm other children, but not the child who she refused to accept as a little tiny thing, and left with Lord Asriel. And her monkey freaks me out, too. xD I'm normally a lover of the bad characters in books, but she just takes the cake. o.o;; |
I could probably name a heap of characters if I thought really carefully about this but I fear that'd make the list too long. I usually try not to let characters bother me too much but there are some characters I just can't stand in litterature, some of those are (from the top of my head);
- Christine and Raoul from Phanthom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. Yes, both of them. - Christina Parsons from Flambards by K. M. Peyton. - Harry Potter from the series with the same name by J.K. Rowling. - A various bunch from books in Swedish I'm not sure anyone'll recognice. There's something about these characters which really gets to me but I can't really say why. Which is a pity, because I've heard from others they can be rather likeable. I suppose it all boild down to personal preferences. |

I actually hated Lydia most. She was whiney and got the whole family into trouble because she was a stupid man-chasing twit. And she doesn't learn anything by the end, her and Wickham deserve each other in my opinion. I probably have a hated character in most books but I can't think of one that sticks out more than others at the moment. |
to loathe
if there is a character you would very happily murder and get an award for services to society, it would be the prince (i can't remember his name) son of Queen Dorethea (i think that's how it's spelt :?(oh and her too but she's mostly a minion so no one would remember her much)) in the Black Jewel Trilogy by Anne Bishop
He is a bastard (literally as well as figurtively) PS- please forgive my use of language, but feels more approriate and truer than just saying "bad guy" lacks... so much, but he gets whats coming to him in "Heir to the Shadows" book number two, though the rest of his fate is in the last book  |

I hated him ._. He was one of those characters where I just wanted to jump into the story and give him a good beat down. D:< |
One of the worst ones ever would be Sasuke, yet he is from a manga but still. From all the thousands of books I have read no character I hate more then Sasuke xD. And he's just a manga character.
