If you are getting the items.txt error, you need to unzip the file. It won't work if you click on AvatarCreator.jar from the file extraction window.

You do not need to delete the program, mewmew07, just unzip it and run it from its extracted location.

& You're welcome, vadeil and Kilala. :) Kilala, is it working for you now?

MessyArtist 03-13-2008 07:55 AM

I'm going to download this soon! Tomorrow.

Pkero 03-13-2008 06:41 PM

I wasn't aware that you took this over, Caroline. =] Good to see someone took the task.

I can't download the latest edition though. I have a Mac, and it isn't working >_<

*edit* I forgot to say potato :D

Caroline 03-14-2008 07:04 AM

Pkero ||
I haven't officially taken it over... yet. :lol: Just updated it a bit and figured I might as well share.
Are you still working on an online version?

Sapphire Clouds ||
The MAC doesn't work on Mac computers, ironically, sorry. :<

frickay kitty 03-15-2008 03:43 AM

@ Caroline: Well that explains why I can't get it to work. Oh well, I guess I just won't be able to make a dream avatar.

Maybe I'll go install it on my PC later, if I can get it to run for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Dx

Caroline 03-15-2008 05:30 AM

Awh, okay. Sorry about that.

frickay kitty 03-15-2008 05:34 AM

Eh. It isn't really your fault, no need to be sorry. I took the risk of less compatible programs when I bought my computer.

I'm on my PC now and it seems like it'll be working just fine once I have everything extracted.

I'm just going to need to cross my fingers that my computer will stay on. Dx

At the moment, it's on hold. I found out that I failed Anthropology, so I have makeup work to do so I don't have to retake the class. School is my top priority, as it should be. Oh well. I'll try sometime in the future.

Maybe I'll be able to modify's Temmon's code and make it Mac compatible when I get a better understanding of Java. xD;

Pkero ||

Ahh okay, school is definitely more important. ^^ Good luck with Anthropology!

Temmon 03-15-2008 05:34 PM

@Caroline: The problem with Mac's isn't actually on my end. :( It's a problem with Java. :3

Now on the other hand, I think it MIGHT work for those Mac's with the Intel processors, but I unno. >.>

@Pkero: Bleh. Sorry about school. Succeed!

Mine says that and I already unziped it...And I was trying to open it from the extracted location...But it said the same thing and didn't work.

Temmon 03-15-2008 07:02 PM

@Emo Pineapple: There are two reasons why you can get that error: The first is that it hasn't been unzipped; the second is that items.txt actually ISN'T in the file. Which is it?

Emo Pineapple 03-15-2008 07:31 PM

Temmon::
The items are there...I see the folder with them in it...
So I have no idea...!

Temmon 03-15-2008 11:07 PM

Do you see a file called items? And when you open it up it opens with Notepad?

Emo Pineapple 03-15-2008 11:12 PM

Temmon::
Yes.

Temmon 03-16-2008 01:54 AM

And you've DEFINITELY extracted it?

Caroline 03-16-2008 06:44 AM

Temmon ||
Do Macs not run Java programs? o;

Emo Pineapple ||
Is the items.txt file is in the SAME folder you're opening AvatarCreator.jar from?

Emo Pineapple 03-16-2008 12:35 PM

Yes to both of you...

My dad helped me figure it out last night while we were working on my website...So he helped me fix it.
So it is working now. Thanks!

wonderfinch 03-16-2008 12:52 PM

thanks for the updates, temmy & caroline!
*luffles*

padfootsy 03-16-2008 08:23 PM

Ok so here's the deal...I'm having problems making me MAC run on Parallels.

It worked before, then I updated my version of windows, and downloaded the new MAC, and for some reason, it's not working anymore.

I'm getting a message that says:

"The file items.txt is not in the current folder. Please look for it and try again. items.txt (The system cannot find the file specified)"

Then it opens, but without any of the items or bases, etc. Just the window.

EDIT: I have the correct version of Java installed.

EDIT EDIT: I'ts doing the same thing with old versions now. I went from Windows XP Pro to Windows XP home. I'm not sure what to do. =/

PM me if you know!

Help?

Emo Pineapple 03-16-2008 11:28 PM

Padfootsy::
Ok so you said you were getting the items.txt error...
That means you have either not unzipped the file or you are doing what I was and trying to open it from the zipped file and not the newly unzipped one...
Check to make sure you are opening it from the right one..If you have multiple files that have the MAC try to open each of them. If you only have one trying unzipping it.
I will pm you this aswell just in case you miss it...
