If you are getting the items.txt error, you need to unzip the file. It won't work if you click on AvatarCreator.jar from the file extraction window.
You do not need to delete the program, mewmew07, just unzip it and run it from its extracted location. & You're welcome, vadeil and Kilala. :) Kilala, is it working for you now? |
I'm going to download this soon! Tomorrow.
|
I wasn't aware that you took this over, Caroline. =] Good to see someone took the task.

I haven't officially taken it over... yet. :lol: Just updated it a bit and figured I might as well share. Are you still working on an online version? Sapphire Clouds || The MAC doesn't work on Mac computers, ironically, sorry. :< |
@ Caroline: Well that explains why I can't get it to work. Oh well, I guess I just won't be able to make a dream avatar.
Maybe I'll go install it on my PC later, if I can get it to run for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Dx |
Awh, okay. Sorry about that.
|
Eh. It isn't really your fault, no need to be sorry. I took the risk of less compatible programs when I bought my computer.
I'm on my PC now and it seems like it'll be working just fine once I have everything extracted. I'm just going to need to cross my fingers that my computer will stay on. Dx |

Maybe I'll be able to modify's Temmon's code and make it Mac compatible when I get a better understanding of Java. xD; Pkero || Ahh okay, school is definitely more important. ^^ Good luck with Anthropology! |
@Caroline: The problem with Mac's isn't actually on my end. :( It's a problem with Java. :3
Now on the other hand, I think it MIGHT work for those Mac's with the Intel processors, but I unno. >.> @Pkero: Bleh. Sorry about school. Succeed! |

@Emo Pineapple: There are two reasons why you can get that error: The first is that it hasn't been unzipped; the second is that items.txt actually ISN'T in the file. Which is it?
|
Temmon::
The items are there...I see the folder with them in it... So I have no idea...! |
Do you see a file called items? And when you open it up it opens with Notepad?
|
Temmon::
Yes. |
And you've DEFINITELY extracted it?
|
Temmon ||
Do Macs not run Java programs? o; Emo Pineapple || Is the items.txt file is in the SAME folder you're opening AvatarCreator.jar from? |
Yes to both of you...
My dad helped me figure it out last night while we were working on my website...So he helped me fix it. So it is working now. Thanks! |
thanks for the updates, temmy & caroline!

Ok so here's the deal...I'm having problems making me MAC run on Parallels.
It worked before, then I updated my version of windows, and downloaded the new MAC, and for some reason, it's not working anymore. I'm getting a message that says: "The file items.txt is not in the current folder. Please look for it and try again. items.txt (The system cannot find the file specified)" Then it opens, but without any of the items or bases, etc. Just the window. EDIT: I have the correct version of Java installed. EDIT EDIT: I'ts doing the same thing with old versions now. I went from Windows XP Pro to Windows XP home. I'm not sure what to do. =/ PM me if you know! Help? |
Padfootsy::
Ok so you said you were getting the items.txt error... That means you have either not unzipped the file or you are doing what I was and trying to open it from the zipped file and not the newly unzipped one... Check to make sure you are opening it from the right one..If you have multiple files that have the MAC try to open each of them. If you only have one trying unzipping it. I will pm you this aswell just in case you miss it... |
