well I've always had a soft spot for Vincent from FF7. Auron from FF10 was a badass, and Basch from FF12 is <3 I like Nines and Beckett from Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines. Come to think of it, I love pretty much every character from VM:B :lol: Amaterasu from Okami. I love the entire design of Okami <3 I cannot put Dante's (DMC) coolness into words. I have many favorites ^_^
-Link: This poor hero has helped Hyrule and several other lands from ultimate destruction, never asking for anything in return. He seems to be the ultimate valiant hero; quiet, honorable, and trustworthy. -Terra (FFVI): A very quiet girl, she searches for something she has never felt... love. She seems so vulnerable and strong in the same breath, determined to find the meaning in her quest. -Midna: While I have not (by any means) come anywhere close to finishing Twilight Princess, the dialog scenes with Midna always had me giggling. She seemed so unique and original, she demanded to be on this list. -Mr. Resetti: Yes :D His character gave my side the splits when he would come terrorizing my home in Animal Crossing. I would purposely reset just to see this lovable hothead give me motherly advice at the end of his long rants. |
Hmm I have had lots of favorites but here are my top 3 =]
1: Cloud-Final Fantasy VII-The game was just amazing and I loved how in the beginning of the game Cloud had that "I don't care" attitude, I tried imitating him in 4th grade then got yelled at by my teacher =/ 2: Dante-Devil May Cry- Dante is just kick ass, I mean cmon he's got white spiky hair =P 3: Kirby- I've always loved kirby =D |
Illidan Stormrage (Wacraft Series) - I just love how he is developed and how he is portrayed as both a villian and a hero at the same time.
Dante (Devil May Cry) - One word: Stylish! Kratos (God of War) - One of the main reasons I like him is that, even thought he's not the villian of the story, he's no hero at all. Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics) - My fauvortie FF character ever, his deep sense of justice and what's wrong and what's right makes him simply great at my eyes. |
GREAT thread, by the way. ^^ I love a lot of video game characters, but I'll just have to narrow my choices down to three per gender. I'm a huge gamer.
FEMALES: 1. Yuna (Final Fantasy X & X-2). I think Yuna is gorgeous. She's really, really beautiful, and she has such a lovely voice. Her family history and her own fate are so twisted and tragic! But she's a really strong person. I also love that she's a sort of mixed-race, involved with the clergy, and has a forbidden kind of love interest. And the pop singer thing was also a lot of fun. ^^ 2. Celes (Final Fantasy VI, formerly known as III). Celes is also...beautiful, a mage, an esteemed military general, an an opera singer. She doesn't let men treat her like garbage, and she's so hawt everyone wants her. XD It's my dream for them to make a movie about this game, just so I can see a real-life Celes. I think Sophia Myles would be the PERFECT choice for the role, don't you? She made a beautiful Isolde... 3. Schala (Chrono Trigger). Like Celes, Schala was one of my first video game crushes. I really dug her because she had blue hair. Schala has a beautiful pendant and lovely robes; she's a princess, after all, and a magess. She's totally sweet and kind, and stands up for what she believes in. MALES: 1. Magus (Chrono Trigger). Schala's wicked little brother, who grows up to nearly conquer the entire world with his evil magic. He's got a major superior attitude, talks down to everyone, and treats the world as though it is his personal playground. And he looks like an elf--strangely, since no one else in the game does. o.O 2. Flea (Chrono Trigger). Okay, my first experience with a cross-dressing video game character. What else can I say? Flea is beautiful. 3. Viktor (Suikoden and Suikoden II). Viktor's just cool. There's something about him... I can't describe it. You just have to play the games to know. |
1. Sephiroth (FF7 PS1) This bad guy just totally rocks! <3 His dark, evil and you kind of feel sorry for the lad being brought up buy a crazed sicentist. I like him because his who he is. xD 2. Dante (Devil may cry, PS2) Dante is one of the most sexyist guys video game character ever! I think I like his sarcasum mostly he makes me laugh when he taunts his enermys. His clothing is to die for, and the fact his half devil also makes him that much cooler. 3. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider Ps1 & 2) This woman is just wow. I have always been intrested in history and artifacts ever since I was a kid. She is like the woman I would of loved to become. (: |
Wow.. it's a bit of a tough decision. I'd have to saaaayy...
-- Darth Revan (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) : I love this character because you can make him/ her whatever you want. And, as far as Sith Lords go, he/ she is one of the most powerful and influential in the Star Wars series. Very cool stuff. -- Sae (Fatal Frame II) : A crazy twin who was betrayed and just wants love... and to murder you in horribly unspeakable ways. What's there not to like? She's such a brutal and tragic character. -- Shadow (Final Fantasy III / VI) : He has some of the coolest theme music EVER. Also, a dog named Interceptor who will completely mess your world up. -- Florina (Legend of Mana) : The Jumi story arc in Legend of Mana is, to my mind, some of the most interesting and engaging storytelling in any video game. Florina is at the heart of this, as she is the only one who can heal her immortal race; through her tears, no less. I've just always been fascinated by her. -- Viktor (Suikoden I / II) : He's bull-headed and stubborn, but loyal and compassionate in his own way. His down-to-earth perspective serves both the player and the characters very well throughout the course of the two games. ... And many more which I can't think of right now. There are so many great characters in video games, it's hard to choose. ^__^; |
Favorite video game characters ever, huh? Here we go, then. Please we warned, there are spoliers in my reasons why I like who I like.
Kratos Aurion - Tales of Symphonia: Handsome swordsman fatherly figure that's also a guardian angel type? He's right up my alley! I adore fatherly characters, honestly. I felt that he was cheated in Torrent Forest, they should have let him die. All these years and he's dedicated to his late wife... the scene where Kratos tells the story in Flanior had me in tears. I felt for him. <3 Cid Highwind - Final Fantasy VII: Say what you will, this foul-mouthed dragoon-inspired pilot has a backstory that pulls at your heartstrings. He acts all tough, but he gives up his dream to save a woman (and loves her but won't admit it), I also see him as a fatherly kind of guy - he's basically a pixiled version of my own dad! His limit breaks are fun, and he does finally get his dream at the end of it. I wanted him to be the leader forever! He always lands a spot in my final team, no matter what. |

Kirby-I love his super sucking abilities and the games are so fun!!! Pikachu-My favorite Poke'mon since forever! |

Dante from Devil May Cry: He's such a smart-ass but I love him. Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil: I just wish that he'd think before he speaks (the same could apply to Dante though...) Other favorite characters: Lisa Garland (SH1), Auron (FFX), Lady (DMC3), A.B.A., Bridget, and Ky Kiske (Guilty Gear), Rinoa Heartilly (FF8), Solid Snake (and Naked Snake as well), Para-Medic, Otacon (MGS). |
Hwoarang > Tekken : He's sexy. But that's not the main reason, I just love everything about him. If you think about, if and when the game revolves around Jin, Hwoarang will always be the arch rival. The just don't get along, and it's kind of freaky if you play him in story mode of Tekken V., because Jin messes him up. I love him though, he's the perfect bad a$$. And, his hair's red, nice dark roots, features overall are very pleasing to me. If he were real, he'd be my best friend. No joke. He's mine.
I've never played any true RPG games, and I've always wanted to play one of the Final Fantasy's. Especially the two or three new ones that haven't even been released yet, they look really cool. Lei > Tekken : I as might as well tell you, I think he's my second favourite kind of tied with Lee. Lei is just... awesome, he's a true Chinese Martial Artist. I love his Drunken Master moves especially, and the way he twists his body, everything flows so nicely with him. |
Ridley [Metroid series] I'm not quite sure. I've just always liked him, ever since I found out who he was in Super Metroid. Samus [Metroid series] Badass, feminine-looking woman that goes around killing things with lasers and huge explosions to pay the bills. Enough said. Midna [Zelda - Twilight Princess] Sarcastic. Opportunist. Knows how to get shit done. Has nice taste in attire. The Vic Viper [Gradius series] I have yet to see a spacecraft with more awesome powerups. |
My favorite video game characters are Luigi in Mario bros and Lou in Guitar hero III and Lizzy in Guitar hero III :cool:

Vivi Orunitia (Ornitier ... however else I've seen it spelt over the years!) - Final Fantasy IX Without a doubt the best FF mage type character, Vivi was savagely corrupted by the Kingdom Hearts Series. Cute, shy, but undeniably a strong person, Vivi spends most of IX suffering an existance crisis. Poor Boy. The fact that he has the power to destroy the world really doesn't figure into it! Much. Vincent Valentine - Final Fantasy VII I wasn't that impressed by VII but I did like Vin, in fact, I named my first car after him (Like Vincent and myself, the car was 'born' in October). I was glad he got developed in Dirge of Cereberus but less then pleased with the game itself. Siegfried - Soul Caliber series Love Siggy. Such a wonderful power house. Raziel - Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance Sarcastic, bitter and angry, Raziel is one of the video worlds most intreguing 'heroes'. Bent on revenge, he plunges through the games without the application of huge amounts of thoughts, the ending of Defiance is truely distressing! Kain - The Legacy of Kain Series Raziel's sire, Kain is a smart, shrewd character that at times you love to hate. He's so wonderfully easy to write (Experience has taught me that Raziel is not!!) and has one of the sexist voices ... Ahem. Jade - Beyond Good and Evil A gem of a game with a gem of a protagonist; Jade is a video game heroin without huge breasts and corny lines but a logical mind and intellect. A good solid character. Yuri - Shadow Hearts - Series Superb! Love him. First game character I heard telling someone to bite him!! I think that should be all today ... sBT |
