Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:14 PM

@Kale: Nope, I'm not supposed to go back out on the road until tomorrow at 1000 (if they can find me a load, that is)

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:16 PM

Dimi; Ah! I see.
-pokes- If you want to see Willow and a couple shots of Atreiyu check out my profile album named pets ;)

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:22 PM

@Kale: Ooo, fuzzies! :lol:
*goes to look*

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:23 PM

Based mostly around Willow.. but.. xD

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:27 PM

*lol* Poor Atreiyu doesn't seem to know what to think of Willow yet
A little jealousy forming, perhaps?

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:28 PM

Very much so.. >.<
He's between attacking her and running away from her. (He runs away from new shoes )

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:31 PM

Daw! I'm not sure which one I should feel more sorry for
I know that cats are pretty territorial. Both with areas and people
I'm sure that Atreiyu will warm up to Willow at some point, though

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:33 PM

Yeah.. I'm planning on converting my brother's room into a play area for Willow so she could have a room to call her own.

Siamese are very much the jealous type so I'm taking it slow with them both because ferrets are also the jealous type and are just as likely to kill a cat. >.<

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:37 PM

Hmm. There are some precautions that you should probably take before turning Willow loose in a room of her own  But, sounds like a good idea, all-in-all

Really? I didn't know that ferrets were prone to jealousy. O.o

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:40 PM

I know I have to ferret proof.. turn corners into beds/food places or litter box places... cover the bottom of the box spring with a fitted sheet so she can't burrow her way into the springs. Make sure each drawer is seen as a bed place when she manages to climb in there... so I don't have to search drawers in case she decides to take a crap in them..

I will be buyin some Piping to wind through under the bed so she can run through it to play. And all that stuff. When I'm asleep or not home she'll be in cage. -nods-

Will also make a small fort out of boxes for her.. xD -has this all planned out in her mind-

And yes.. ferrets are very much prone to jealousy and will kill to get the attention they want. >.>

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:45 PM

*lol* Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you  Hmm, will a fitted sheet be enough to keep her from burrowing into the box springs?

Wow. I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever get a ferret. With my job, it wouldn't be a good idea for me to get one at this point, though

Rusalka 08-18-2008 09:50 PM

Yep, it's actually the simplest way to ferret proof beds because the only place they'll try burrow in is the flimsy sponge-like material on the bottom that's easily chewed/clawed through. Add a fitted bed sheet and she can't get through it and sees no interest. As well with the piping there she'll be more interested in running through the piping instead of looking up. The metal of the bet stand will be enough to keep the sheet in place though and I will be watching it. -nods-

No.. I don't think it would lol. They need a lot of attention.

-snickers-
My mom came home and headed to the bathroom all I heard was a "Ye-eck" From her.. a grown cricket was in there xD. -giggles- Twas funny :XD

Had to catch it and release it to the wild. Too old to give to geckos from which it successfully escaped.

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-18-2008 09:54 PM

Well, I guess that works  Now the only issue would be to remember to keep car keys and other metal / shiny objects out of Willow's sight (since ferrets are apparently attracted to that type of stuff, from what I've heard)

*heh* You know, Willow would have probably eaten that cricket

Oi, I can't believe I spent so much gold within the last 24 hrs  Almost 10k gone like that *snaps fingers*

Rusalka 08-18-2008 10:00 PM

 They are.. they'll actually steal them and hide them.. so it's good to know where her hiding places for such things are. Yet she hasn't had complete free run yet so I've always been watching and such. xD My place isn't finished being cleaned/ferret-proofed. And with the cat I can't leave them be when she's out.

They can also open nap-sacks cupboards. Climb to the top of a bookshelf... find their way into the washer and dryer and stove... Well they cause havoc everywhere.

Cricket goes to wild I'm not feeding Willow live food. xD
Kitten brand for her only.

Haha.. I spent 15k within a half hour last night. :P
