Im eating some melba toast

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 04:55 PM

go multitasking!!!! *fist pump* I want lunch. I think I'll run down and microwave something real quick.

well, that's too bad, dimi

eh? what's that albie??

Albie626 03-21-2010 04:58 PM

Here is a description

Quote:

Melba toast is a very dry, crisp and thinly sliced toast often served with soup and salad or topped with either melted cheese or pâté. It is named after Dame Nellie Melba, the stage name of Australian opera singer Helen Porter Mitchell. Its name is thought to date from 1897, when the singer was very ill and it became a staple of her diet. The toast was created for her by chef and fan Auguste Escoffier, who also created the Peach Melba dessert for her. The hotel proprietor César Ritz supposedly named it in a conversation with Escoffier.[1]
Melba toast is usually made by lightly toasting bread in the normal way of making toast. Once the outside of the bread is slightly firm, it is removed from the toaster and then each slice is cut laterally with a bread knife to make two slices that are half the original thickness of the bread. These two thin slices are then toasted again to make Melba toast. [2] Melba Toast is also available commercially, and was at one time used to give infants who were teething a hard food substance to chew on

@Albie: Eh, I'm just eating a couple of ham&cheese sandwiches and some potato chips... *feels so plain* :ninja: :P

@Kat: :XD The sad thing is I absolutely suck at multitasking.

Albie626 03-21-2010 05:01 PM

Mmmmm i love melba toast

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:01 PM

hnm, that's certainly interesting, albie

really, but you're always multitasking it seems!! I have heard that women are better at it though.

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:07 PM

@Albie: I've never actually tried eating anything with melba toast. But, from the sounds of it, it's simply thinly-sliced toast. I should try it sometime. Sounds like it'd certainly help save bread for someone who eats a lot of sandwiches, anyway. :P

@Kat: That's true. But, by definition, multitasking means to equally divide your attention among several tasks at once. My problem is that I can't equally divide my attention. Some things take up more of my attention than others, and some things inevitably end up slipping through the cracks and falling off my list of tasks altogether. Hence, I suck at multitasking. :XD

Albie626 03-21-2010 05:09 PM

Im bored

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:10 PM

I know I'm weird, but I actually don't like bread that much and um....sandwiches are ew.

I don't think it has to be equal, not is that possible really except I spend equal amounts of time on all of my mene threads. I do stuff in between posts though. I still get other tasks done. but it is kinda fail when you stop doing something all together.

I'm sorry albie?

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:15 PM

@Albie: Hmm, maybe you should try RPing or playing some of the games, then. After all, things don't usually start picking up in here until later in the afternoon. The only reason I'm online right now, actually, is because I have the day off today.

@Kat: That's true. :lol:

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:17 PM

haha, you have the day off? that's cool. I've really been enjoying my spring break and it will be sad to go back to school. and i'll go back to getting online at really random times between my classes!!! :P

Albie626 03-21-2010 05:20 PM

it is the afternoon for me

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:21 PM

its noon 30 for me. so a pretty good time to be waking up *speaking to a sleeping friend she happens to be waiting on*

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:29 PM

@Kat: Yeah, I've got the day off today. Of course, there's not really anything to do on a Sunday for me. Except going to the local Best Buy or Walmart or something like that. But I don't really feel like getting out today anyway. :P

@Albie: Yeah, same with Kat, it's only about 12:30 for me, too. Things won't typically start picking up around here for about another 4 hours or so. Where are you at, anyway? I'm in the Midwestern United States. Western MO, actually.

Albie626 03-21-2010 05:29 PM

im rating pecans yumm

----------

eating lol

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:31 PM

oh man I love pecans!!

I think days off are for being lazy and doing nothing. I seem to be doing a lot of unfinished silly little projects with my time.

I need my friend to wake up though so we can meet up and say bye and I have her book and b-day present to give her. but she's a sleep I we both leave for school today!!

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:36 PM

*is listening to a techno remix of Gansta's Paradise* :boogie:

@Albie: I'm just eating potato chips now. :P

@Kat: I hope your friend gets up soon, then.

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:37 PM

its very tempting to text her. ^^ I know it pisses her off to be woken up by text. she doesn't leave for another 2 hours, but I don't know when I'll be leaving. I have to get a haircut still.

LadyKai 03-21-2010 05:42 PM

Hello everyone whats up? *peeks in hole*

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:44 PM

@Kat: *imitates subconscious evil voice* Doo eeet! :XD

@Kai: Hey there. I'm doing alright. Just acting like Kat's evil little subconsciousness. How about you?

LadyKai 03-21-2010 05:45 PM

Lol that's always fun Dimitri, I'm just sitting on my couch eating pizza pockets and being to lazy to get
up and get my juice. xD

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:46 PM

*hears an evil voice* OKAY!! especially since I think I'm going soon.

hi kai. dimi pretty much said it all

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:51 PM

@Kai: Ahh, I love lazy days like those. Although, it always helps to have everything you need for the day within arm's reach. :P

@Kat: :XD w00t! I win! I must be pretty good at that evil subconscious voice thingy.

Kat Dakuu 03-21-2010 05:52 PM

yes you must be dimi. hm, she was awake and now we're just arguing over text about who will go over to who's house because neither of us want to move.

Dimitri Bloodbane 03-21-2010 05:57 PM

@Kat: Hrm, I wonder who will win that argument? :ninja:
If I had to guess, I'd probably say that you'll give up first because you have to get out to get your hair cut anyway.
