haha... the fob pups are playing under my b-hut and they keep hitting their heads on the floor but they are so cute  I wish I could afford to take one back to the USA with me T___T But I don't have 2,500 dollars to be throwing around like that. Mudflap, Charlie and Go Joe.

Runt TK, run!

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 09:30 AM

TK- O.o a mile to a mile and a half.... I can't run full out that far....
Couldn't you at least give me a bit of a fighting chance?
*puppy dog eyes*

Zephi- Wha?? $2,500 to take a pup back to the US??

ToriKat 11-19-2010 09:31 AM

@Zephi: ...whoa, $2500? O_O Is that how much it costs to take an animal because of difficulty in travel or...whaaa?

*jogs, slows, lays on the ground* xD My run's a fast jog anyways. Eventually I'll learn how to properly run.

Mmm, my roommate's back. She's the third person in our trio of friends. I guess he's latching onto her right now because he's willing to talk to her, but not me.

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 09:33 AM

TK- BAH!! I've got better ways of helping you to build up your stamina :XD :P
He won't talk to you, but he'll talk to her? What's he trying to do, make her choose between you and him?

Zephi 11-19-2010 09:36 AM

Hmm, the fee is for the adoption price to get a pet from a foreign country with no medical history up to date and certify them with papers and all. It's a long process but I guess it's worth it. It's almost like taking a living war trophy home with you if you think about it. I have my "war trophy" but it is by no means alive. <.<

Sounds kinda fishy that he's talkin to her... hmmm... was she not one of the ones out there cheering for him or something?

ToriKat 11-19-2010 09:38 AM

@Ultima: Smoothies? xD

He's done this before where he was with me against her. I'm guessing because I was with him today and he talked to me, he's mad about what I said. She was away with the rest of the unit to a Thanksgiving luncheon. The ironic thing is, she said about the same thing I said. That we're there to encourage him.

@Zephi: She was actually one of his pacers.

Woooow...I had no idea it cost that much to just adopt an animal...

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 09:38 AM

Zephi- Pray tell, do I even want to know what that "war trophy" of yours is?

Maybe the guy has a big crush on the girl or something? It would explain the latching.

ToriKat 11-19-2010 09:40 AM

@Ultima: Nah, he's latched to me too. He just does that where he sides with one against the other. I never seemed to have any luck being in a trio of friends.

And he's got a fiancee that he really loves. They're really cute together.

Zephi 11-19-2010 09:43 AM

My war trophy is a knife.... well I guess it's kinda classified as a murder weapon but we don't have to get into technical names with it! It's a small blade too, but one brother ended up killing another brother with it... Ok, I have a thing for knives anyway so it was coming with me.

Yeah, I suppose it's a long adoption process but you can really get attached to the dogs around here. Especially when you have them from when they are a puppy and train them. Charlie is being adopted for sure. He can sit, stay, lay down, come, speak, knows what no means... he's good, only about 3 months old I think.

I have no idea what's goin on with your "friend" then. I think he's trying to alienate you cause he feels butt hurt still. Tell him to get over it. If he really wanted to do something about it he would get up and DO something.

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 09:46 AM

TK- Whoops! Live update didn't show me your previous post! :illgetu:
Smoothies? You know me better than that :P
Hmm, I see. Well, you have plenty of friends here on Mene, right? That's a lot more than a trio
*nodnod*

Zephi- Oh, ok. That's alright, then. I've got a thing for knives, too. Even got a collection of them (not all of which can be carried on one's person in the state I live in, but oh well ;) )

ToriKat 11-19-2010 09:47 AM

@Zephi: o____o A knife...Did you guys have to treat the brother?

Are they wild dogs? How do they come about your fob? And aw! Do you have any pictures of them?

Pretty much a lot of people are telling him to suck it up and get over it. Which just pisses him off more. I think he's mad at me because I didn't just agree with him that he should just go home. He was looking for that and didn't get it. Because I don't believe in quitting. Read the Soldier's Creed, kiddo! D< /kidding

@Ultima: Hahaha, yes. In real life though, when I'm in a trio, I'm usually the one in the middle while the other two squabbles. This is the first time I'm the one who is on the other end. *kinda butt hurt myself?* lol

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 09:50 AM

TK- Well, I can guarantee that you're my friend and Aryah's friend, and that it easily carries over to RL, even if we've never met face-to-face (even though we came so very close that one time).

Zephi 11-19-2010 09:51 AM

We treated both brothers. I got to do a chest tube on one of them after needle decompressing him. It was awesome. The pups were picked up, probably paid for in a village and then they bring them back here to the FOB. No other dogs are allowed on the FOB. The ones here have collars, at least the ones being adopted. I don't think that mudflap is being adopted but it's too bad cause he's pretty nice, super shy though. Like he doesn't seem sure if he should be playing with humans or not.

Does it have to be trio for you though?

Oh yeah! I have pictures of them on my FB in the most recent Afghanistan photo album :) They are adorable. My daughter likes Charlie the best.

ToriKat 11-19-2010 09:59 AM

@Ultima: I know!! *hugs* I'm glad you guys consider me that way. ^_^ Hahaha, if only I passed my run sooner in San Antonio!

I should be getting my orders next month. *nervous about where I'm headed to next*

@Zephi: Wooow...I wonder if I even remember how to do either of those anymore. xD

So they're...the MP dogs?
Awww, Mudflap sounds so cute. xD

Back in high school...I became friends with one girl...and she had a best friend who started getting upset with me for "stealing her best friend."
Then in college, I became friends with one girl, ended up getting closer to her friend...and she didn't like that at all. @[email protected];;
Now this...I don't pick and choose to be friends in threes. It just happens when we get along! T_T

I don't...think I have you facebook friended. O_O

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 10:02 AM

TK- Actually, the time I'm talking about was before you decided to go into the military. Remember, there was that one time that Aryah and I had a load that we delivered about 50 miles away from Ft Hood?
Mmm, I hope that you get stationed somewhere near here. I think that'd be pretty nice

ToriKat 11-19-2010 10:04 AM

Oh wow...I don't remember that time. xD My memory is fading...!

Zephi 11-19-2010 10:05 AM

They are just afghan hounds, mutts. But they are going to be adopted and have a much better life than they could ever have over here. Our dog from Kushamond was killed in a crossfire. The new unit obviously didn't appreciate how amazing she was.. cause if a medic can't save a dog then I wouldn't even let em near me if I got hurt! I mean really.

Jacquelyn Amato, pic of me and my daughter on FB. If you want to add me. I have tons of pictures.

Oh, I hope that you get a good place. Hopefully not Ft. Bliss... or Ft. Campbell. haha! But if you went there I'd see you for a little while before I went to Germany ;)

Dimitri Bloodbane 11-19-2010 10:08 AM

TK- Yeah, you said that you were uncomfortable trying to get out and drive around during the evening. *nodnod* And here I thought I was the forgetful one :XD

Anyway, it's a little after 4am now. I should probably head to bed and at least try to get some sleep. G'nite and sweet dreams, ladies.

Zephi 11-19-2010 10:10 AM

Good night Dimi! See ya later :)

ToriKat 11-19-2010 10:21 AM

@Zephi: Ahhh, I see. That's good that they'll get a pampered life of an American pooch soon!

*a bit nervous about seeing what Afghanistan is really like* xD

I thought you used to like Fort Campbell? What changed your mind?

@Ultima: Good night!

Zephi 11-19-2010 10:28 AM

I just like being in the United States. I never got to go out when I was there but that was for different reasons <.< I do really like being in the Rakkasans and everything but they so so much stupid stuff... and the BSB is so lame. People complain too much. If I could be with the infantry forever, I sure wouldn't protest at all. haha.

Afghanistan is just a place... but it gets old, especially after coming back from leave. And especially wen the people of this country refuse to stand up for themselves and are so demanding that the Americans do it for them. Like spoiled little kids. I think we should just lock them in their rooms and let them cry til they figure out how to clean up their own messes. This place here is a lot less developed than where I was... there was no running water, no food, no mwr, no toilets, no where to buy anything (even from locals) no... anything pretty much. But it's gotten better.

Oh yeah! I like what you did with your Avi! Very nice!

So do your RL friends have any idea that you are so popular online? lol

ToriKat 11-19-2010 10:47 AM

What's the BSB?

...no...running water...So that means you guys had to get bottled water? lol, so I guess where you are, they didn't care about the former general removing all the fast food joints. xD Can't even shop from locals...wow...

Thank you. xD I'm still fiddling with it. Getting stuck in the shoe shop looking for a pair that will match. ^^;;
Huh...I can't seem to recall which item is the pink...blobs?...on the ground around your avatar!

xD Only my best friend knows about everything I do online. The college buddies I was too ashamed to show them what I was into. Sure, one of them watched The Disney Channel...but still...playing on avatar forums didn't seem "cool" and "grown up." xD

Zephi 11-19-2010 10:59 AM

Brigade Service Battalion. It's a place where they amass all the support units and force them to all work together.

Yeah. We never had any fast food places or any of that stuff to begin with. It was the really large FOBs that had all that. When you go to BAF or Salerno, it almost feels like you're back in the US it's so huge and modernized. The people there never worry about anything. They had street sweepers.. and salsa night for crying out loud! People were out there bumpin and grinding and makin babies prolly. It made me kinda sick to know that they were getting like a "vacation" deployment while all my buddies were working their butts off. I guess that's just how it goes. It's not ever going to be completely fair. But yes, we had to use bottled water. I made a shower area for us out of a pallet and some T-posts and a poncho. Lol.. when the sun goes down, you didn't want to be out there. OMG. So cold!

The pink poffy smoke thing is from valentines day. It's with the hearts, there was a lot of options. Pretty much all the hearts and stuff around my avi is from tat one item :P Talk about versatile.

Ah, I tried to get my best friend in on this but she found it to be very confusing. Lol, it's ok. She needed to work on getting out there and meeting real people anyway. I wouldn't want to give her another excuse not to do it. I love the... well maybe not the Disney Channel per say but cartoons in general :D

ToriKat 11-19-2010 11:05 AM

...and I thought a Medical Area Support was terrible. xD A whole brigade!

T_T Wow...yeah, my friends who went to Iraq straight after AIT said it was really laid back and easy. They were eating at five star restaurants - oh, I mean DFACs - and stuff. Meanwhile, my dad, when he was there, said there was nothing but sand.

Seriously?!?! You guys don't even get a shower area? O_O Does this mean you guys don't have buildings...at all? Just a bunch of tents? *shock*

Oh goodness...do you even like the outdoors? Before the army, I sure as pie did not sleep outside in a tent! xD

I like cartoons and anime, so...I'm fine with saying I will never grow up. ^^;;

Zephi 11-19-2010 11:11 AM

I hear that it's pretty laid back in Iraq now as well. but I think they lied about making it a 9 month deployment. I have a friend who just got over there and they are doing 12 months, even talking about possibly a 15 month already. So.. you never know which end of the stick you're going to get I suppose.

We have a shower area now! We didn't at first. Well there was a tent.. but.. first off, females could ONLY use it at 20-21. And it was a vietnam like tent. 4 "stalls that come just above your waist and you wash yourself with a garden hose pretty much. So... it's a lot better now. They had shut down the "shower tent" because someone decided to go number 2 in it.. gross... and I, eing a female, refused to go without shower when there was no need for it. So after my makeshift shower was made, many more popped up. Then right as I left for leave, the colonel said that there was to be no more bottled water showers because there was not enough water. Baby wipes only. O_O But by the time I got back, we had showers set up, thank goodness. Haha. And it was tents at the FOB where I had tried to hang out at. This one has wooden b-huts that the Polish made. And the only "real" building is the aid station... it's just cement. lol.

I love the outdoors! lol, when I'm not being forced to go outdoors. Haha.. it always changes everything when you HAVE to do something.

Anime
