oooh! *crosses fingers defensively* No talk of sickness! *sneezes*

I've been fighting the weather to try and AVOID getting sick right now.

Kat Dakuu 06-16-2011 10:58 PM

being sick sucks.

hey aryah!

what's your last assignment, ling?

My last assignment is a fake research proposal, basically it's to write an application for approval from the university to get funding for a study that I'm proposing to do, only I wouldn't go through with the actual application or research as such. :)

ToriKat 06-18-2011 03:46 AM

*yawns* I've been so tired lately. =_=;; Work is just ridiculous. I'm sooo not looking forward to be living and working in tents all summer long. :gonk:

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 04:00 AM

sounds interesting, ling. I think anyways. it's not the sort of assignment I'd ever do

hey tori! you're living in tents!? why!!?

ToriKat 06-18-2011 04:22 AM

Kat! Hey! How are you?

It's a mission all summer long. Providing medical care to ROTC cadets. ~_~;;

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 04:59 AM

I'm alright.

that sucks. *hug*

Ling 06-18-2011 05:17 AM

You look after yourself too Tori....

And Kat, yes, my assignment is somewhat interesting....however it's also a challenge, because I have to write in a different style compared to say writing an essay.

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 05:20 AM

hm, I see. i'm not one much for technical writing. I'm all fiction.

Ling 06-18-2011 05:25 AM

Neither am I, but I have to for my assignments. I like writing fiction too, when I'm inspired. :)

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 05:28 AM

its amazing how much writing one has to do for school.

Ling 06-18-2011 05:32 AM

Yes, indeed....

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 05:33 AM

I'm a writing minor though so I foresee tons of writing in my future.

Ling 06-18-2011 05:37 AM

That's awesome Kat. I don't plan to write professionally but I do enjoy writing for pleasure.

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 05:53 AM

I plan to write professionally, but I doubt I could ever support myself with it.

Ling 06-18-2011 06:00 AM

I imagine it'd be extremely hard to live off professional writing, especially fiction, where you have to have that entertainment factor.

Kat Dakuu 06-18-2011 06:01 AM

my dad says it'd be pretty much impossible for me and that I should just concentrate on my art.

ToriKat 06-18-2011 07:33 PM

Aw, nothing is impossible. *hugs* Even published writers have to go through several publishers before they actually get their work in print. Think of Harry Potter. xD I'm sure all the publishers who turned down J. K. Rowling are kicking themselves now!

nemo.love_22 06-18-2011 08:04 PM

Ling: yeah, it was totally awesome. We didn't really do anything in Melbourne other than go from the airport up to her town. And then back down there the day I left.

TK!! :glomp: How've ya been??!

ToriKat 06-18-2011 11:30 PM

Hey Hope! Ouah! To be able to travel to Australia! *o* How was it?

I've been okay. Just really boggled down by work. I've been so tired lately from all the labor and long hours that I've opted to just sleep whenever I got a chance. ^^;;

Ling 06-19-2011 12:23 AM

Hope: I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your time in Australia. Some of the best tourist destinations are actually out of the cities in my opinion anyway.

Tori: Good to hear you're resting/sleeping when you get the chance. :)

nemo.love_22 06-19-2011 04:55 PM

TK: Yeah It was totally awesome! I got to meet one of my friends who I met online like 5 years ago. :) Totally amazing and I'm still trying to find the energy to sort through the pictures. Lol! I think I may have gone a bit camera crazy. Lol! Although the flights there and back were just insane, but all so totally worth it! :)

Awe! But good to hear that you're doing alright. I start work tomorrow - I'm sure they'll be wearing me out. I'm a nanny for 2 boys, and I need to call their mum to ask her what time they'll be showing up here tomorrow. xD Probably earlier than I want, but hey, at least I have a job right? I hope that you can catch up on sleep soon!

Ling: Oh, we were out in a city. Just out of Melbourne - about a 3 hour drive out of Melbourne. But it was nice to have a 'home base' that we could come back to. :) Made it easier than going from place to place to place, if you ask me. :)

Kat Dakuu 06-19-2011 11:53 PM

Tori: I guess you're right. it's really hard to be a writer, but it isn't unreachable.

Hope: a nanny huh? that seems to be a pretty popular job choice of the people I know.

nemo.love_22 06-20-2011 12:21 AM

Kat: It pays pretty well. I get 50$ a day - so I get 200$ a week. (They're not at the age where I have to keep an eye on them all the time - they're 11 and 12) but they definitely are good at wearing me out. I start tomorrow.

Kat Dakuu 06-20-2011 04:52 AM

sounds like a good deal! I make $0!!!
