*Fall into the hole* Hai Guysss~! I haven't been around this thread for a while..I need to be more activesss. *Dancedance* I'm really worried about my friend, Ashlyn. After a forced breakup with her boyfriend, John, she's become anorexic. She gets it from her mother, who was hospitalized before because of it. (When she gets really depressed, she doesn't eat) And she's been compulsively weighing herself. Dropped about ten pounds in a week. She just won't listen to us when we tell her she's got a problem and that she really needs to eat. She's been barfing up whatever she's managed to scarf down. A piece of toast in the morning, and maybe a few tortilla chips if she even eats at all at lunch. Any advice? I think I may go to her mother about it. I'm not sure, though.. She told me that she'd hate me if I told anyone that could really do anything about it. |
@Clorissa: That's a horrible thing to have to watch a friend or family go through... She may not want you to tell anyone who could help her but I think you really should. Having her mad at you for going to her mother would be better than knowing you could have helped her if she got worse and actually died.
I knew a girl in school--a friend of my best friend and she was horribly anorexic--so bad her kidneys were failing at the age of 17. And she was suffering heart problems. Unfortunately, it is hard to get through to them, it took a hospital trip before she got help. I haven't seen her since but I hear she's doing better. |
