I wonder if it's because they think it's dangerous - the windows are as wide as the room - and people can commit suicide from them...or if it's because they can save more energy if the air conditioning system doesn't leak out due to open windows...

Uh...for some reason last semester was heavy on attempted suicides. I didn't get a lot of details, but the police and residence hall staff had a lot to deal with.
I don't know of how many actually go through with it. I know last spring, a guy who was going to take the MCATs killed himself, because he was under too much stress. The bullet went through him and hit his neighbor too. D: That was at a residence complex not owned by the university. I'm pretty sure these walls are...thicker...so I feel somewhat safe. ^^; It's around 30-40 degress Fahrenheit outside. xD But the rooms are so terrible hot. ^^;; I can hold off on the fan...for now. xD |

@lavalem: Well, I've heard it happening to the Japanese too. High school students can get so worked up over getting into the college they want...that they can give up when they don't. I think it's sad there's such a stigma with going to counseling and stuff. It'll appear like you're crazy if you do... |
in my opinion i would rather be crazy than dead maybe people here in New Zealand so that i just dont hear about it
