What good is putting up a system if I can't do anything on it because it's down for maintenance? Dx My job is making everything...so hard. Thank goodness there's a way around it...but I'm going to get yelled at because people won't know everything went down tonight. :/

@Blond: It's an online administration system to check out keys, temporary cards, look up information on residents and so on. It crashed when I came to work (surprise! It's nothing new >_>; ) and came back up...to...just be pointless. It's just up to look pretty or something. >_< |

Hahaha, when I was little, I had a massive Egyptology phase. Lasted years and years. I would watch all the specials, biographies, and documentaries that came up on the topic. Had to record so many because I couldn't get enough of it. After I read all the books at my school library, I checked out the ones from the public...theeeen ran out of books. Dx I forgot which phase replaced it. *thinks* I'm so sad to think that I've forgotten much of what I learned back in elementary... |
I am still going throught that phase! :XD Of course you know why people find Egypt so fascinating? Cause that is where we made our leap. We hung around on the planet for 160,000 years and didn't do squat. The 40,000 years ago we suddenly got organized. No one knows why either.

One thing that stunned me...after coming to my university...was just how wealthy some kids are. I never thought I would actually meet girls you see on that MTV Sweet Sixteen show...if that's the one I'm thinking of. One of my ex-friends went on and on about how rich one girl's party was...and then ended it with, yeah, I just went to Bennihana for my birthday and had a bill for over one thousand.

I'm glad my family's not wealthy. My parents taught me how to be such a cheapskate! I remember how all my ex-friends got so frustrated when shopping with me. I would go straight to the clearance racks when they took me to "expensive stores." (read: Not WalMart* xD) They would always be like...that's out of style. Or that's ugly. Just because it was marked down. :roll:

I will confess I am not exactly frugal...but I am not completely over the top wasteful. I just can't imagine spending that kind of money on stuff because I don't have it.
I did three things for the shop, but I think I might wait til tomorrow to post them. I was surprised the changing pets didn't do better. Once people see what they turn into they might be sorry...*shrugs* Maybe they thought they were too expensive but there are 3 images. I have to say though, I am really sick of all the shops that do avatars with KawaiiHannah's base. |
When I got my job...I splurged on things I usually don't buy. As much as I love owning books, I held off for the longest time because of how much school was costing me. Usually stuck to the library. But...Half Price Books is love. ^^ Managed to plump up some of my collections, mainly Grisham's novels.
I'm curious about the pets! ..........forgot to check them. *headdesks* I wish more people would make their own bases. Her bases are cute...but...not their works. D: |
I don't think there is anything wrong with indulging yourself some. It's a fine line I guess.
I don't understand why people don't draw their own bases. If you use someone else's base you aren't going to have the continuity of your own work. Also if you have done pixels for a while and can do hair and clothes and all, why can't you draw your own base too? It's not that hard. I have much more difficulty with hair than the bases. |

(and I'll never learn when it comes to eating *coughs*) One reason why I think it's bad to use someone else's base...is that you'll never be recognized. You're one of the millions who uses someone famous's work...thereby inflating their attention... I guess it's just exploiting how cute hers are? Or perhaps they don't know how to make a base? *has no idea* Could just be laziness. xD |
I think a lot of it is that her base is really cute. What makes me crazy is seeing someone use it who has really undeveloped skills and they have this super cute base with really badly drawn clothes and hair. I think the other problem is that it seems intimidating to people to draw a base. I felt that way for a while, then one day I thought...why should I use someone else's...I can pixel, I can draw my own. I have never used Hannah's though. I do think it's the most overused base on the internet though.
