vampires *is a vampire freak* but my book isn't just going to focus on the vampires right away. First, you'll get to know the main character as a human , go through his change with him, find out how he deals with his change, ect. There's more to it than that, but I don't want to get into it too much here. I want the reader to basically go through the main character's life (lives?) with him so they can relate to him a little better. If I can come up with enough content, maybe I'll even make it a trilogy series rather than just a single novel.

Ooh, vampires! <3 I love vampires... Though I go by different lore than many. :lol: Maybe sorta a mix of lores but some are forgotten others just might be my take on how I see vampires myself. xD That definitely would be horror or fantasy. There's more vampire in horror than in fantasy but again it sometimes depends on publishers. :lol: You'd do well to really look into it at some point. xD I would love to read it though!! Well I don't follow the same lores on vampires as a lot of other people do, either. For instance, I don't follow the "sunlight harmful to vampire" cliche (I simply believe vampires to be nocturnal hunters, not that they can't go out in the sunlight), and I don't follow the "vampires have to suck blood every single day to survive" cliche, either.
Once I get published, I'll make sure to let you know what the name of the book is so you can find it. Or, if I can't get published, maybe I'll just post it on the net somewhere. One way or another, I'll make sure that everyone that wants to read it will be able to |
Wow. Like me. xD The lore I go by is that though the sun isn't harmful to vampires it does tire them out, and drain them of energy/life force. As for blood depending on the circumstances, it can be every other day to weekly. The more they're out in the sun the shorter the time period between feeding.. As well as, no coffin for them but freezers to cool off from the time spent in the sun and in normal temp. Think corpse that essentially doesn't rot but has the effects of making feeding daily if it's not cooled down at all. ^^; |
Hrm, still some differences from my beliefs, but similar, in ways
:arrow: Sunlight doesn't hurt / kill vampires, they're simply nocturnal :arrow: A vampire isn't of the dead / undead race, their hearts simply don't beat as fast as ours (a vampire's heart only beats once every few minutes, which makes people checking for a pulse on a vampire near impossible, if not impossible. I guess this makes them more "undead" than "alive", but they're certainly not "dead" :arrow: A vampire cannot regenerate lost limbs / parts of the body, nor can they regenerate damaged eyes. However, they do have a high-speed healing, which requires them to suck blood afterwards to replenish strength :arrow: No coffins for vamps. A bed works just as well :arrow: It's not as hard to kill a vampire as people make it out to be. Oh, sure, you can shove a wooden stake through their heart, cut off their head, burn the corpse to ashes, and spread the ashes all over to keep a vampire from coming back to life. Wouldn't that kill anybody? It is possible to kill a vampire by stabbing them in the heart (with anything) but difficult because of the high-speed healing that they have. Easiest way is to lop off their head or to burn them completely up. :arrow: A vampire does not have to suck blood daily to stay alive. Only maybe once a week - once a month, depending on how much energy they use for their skills or abilities or whatever. It's just that sucking blood is something like taking a medication to a vampire... a highly addictive medication... The more addicted they become to it, the more often they hunt and suck blood unnecessarily. I think that's about it. I'll add more if I think about it --EDIT-- :arrow: vampires also have extremely increased strength and speed, and more acute vision and hearing, but the more they use these "abilities", the more often they have to drink blood |
Yeah.. I thought I added sorta to the end of that. :lol: Though for stake to the heart I do not believe it kills as much as paralyzes them.. a vampire form of handcuffs say. xD Though I know that comes from Moonlight (TV Show) it made sense to me. I searched it up and some lore does state that. |

Some of it I agree with others I can argue, but I won't because everyone views vampires differently and there isn't really any 'correct' view because they're a work of fiction. (To my knowledge) Like I agree with the heightened healing but cannot replace body parts, even if it's shown in Blade - but sunlight kills in Blade as well. :lol: I could argue though about their special abilities. I agree that they have them, but I disagree that they have a choice to use them but it's natural/instinctual to automatically use them, though it is a choice with strength because they'd have to learn to moderate it. But again this is my view. I'm not arguing the point just chatting about it. ^^ Edit to your Edit: Agreed. Though I do follow the can't cross moving water lore, however they can if they are unconscious.. Not like in Bram Stoker's that they have to be in a box full of dirt from their homeland. xD |

Yeah, I worded that poorly. I agree that they always have the strength and speed, but have to learn to moderate how much of their strength / speed they actually use at any given moment. Something like placing a limiter of sorts on themselves.
As for their heightened vision and hearing, I think that that's something that they have to actually choose when to use, like an ability. Could you imagine having something like night vision during the day or in a well-lit area? Or having heightened hearing on a loud and busy street corner? That's why I feel that the hearing / vision is like an ability, that they can only use when they actually choose to use it |

Spent their money on school books/supplies and had nothing to donate to websites outside the one set for themselves. I couldn't even buy myself one set in the exchange the set I have was preplanned for me from a staff member. >.< |

Don't need to edit my post now. xD Dimitri; I can see where you're going with the sight choose where to focus but I view definitely view the hearing as an automatic instinctual thing as well as scent. Just need to learn how to pick through and focus to ignore what's around and thread through the sounds... as well as scent know how to pick through the scent and manage to tell what the scent is. It's to my belief that Vampires can smell strong emotion. Like fear, anger, love, recent pheromone release if the person recently was sexually active or close enough to it... etc. |

Flink's not really missing them that much. XD She actually has her Puado, now that she thinks about it.
It's the fan she lost. She wasn't really that fond of it at the time anyways. Maybe one day when she takes ov-- Er, gets more money on Mene she'll buy herself a fan. XD Flink agrees on the strong emotion thing with vampires. And the scent/hearing thing as well. Those would most likely be automatic and take some getting used to/honing to easier differentiate between what you WANT to smell/hear and everything else that's around you. o.o ON sleep, Flink agrees completely. -gnaws on Kale's hair really quickly, then skitters off- |
