it's difficult for my brain to be able to handle it lol. i'm an impulsive shopper and the minute money goes into my hand it must leave ASAP. But it's so hard to get money on here. lol

mm I know. I'm telling the new people to do the same. "Write novels" i always tell them to do that so they're not naked for a long period of time. mmmm. I'm so bored. I just found out my friend likes the guy that i went out with last night. Tomorrow is most definitely going to be awkward.

See, I don't get it. Post a lot to earn gold! But wait, you're not allowed to spam, you have to stay on topic, etc etc. You can't get gold for moving around the site (there go the lurkers), and you can't have random posts (there go the people that just chill). What's left?! D=

I don't think I'll be earning my gold back.

It's more difficult here than in other places like, say Gaia, where everyone has it totally easy 'cause the money just falls into your pockets is you surf the site.
As soon as I finish this post, I should be able to buy a skirt.
But spam is a thing of utter and complete evil. D:< Posts must make sense.
Which makes it all the more challenging, and fun. :]

It's even harder when you're shy and don't like to post that much. I usually just read every thread and post when I want to, but I can't do that AND make money. :[

To me the point of the site is the community, not the gold. That's one of the reasons I like it here. Decender is a good way to get gold, if you don't want to post though. Not sure if it works again or not though.

If the point of the site is community, and not gold, then lets get rid of the avatars and the gold system entirely. See how many people still come to the site.

Of course a very large part of the site is about the gold and the items. If it wasn't this wouldn't be an avatar site. Gold and items wouldn't be one of the largest features of it.

Eh, sorta more like the real world than Gaia. You actually have to do things to get gold whereas Gaia, just moving around you get money. But whatever, I'm slowly but surely getting money.

That's why I said in MY opinon dear. I never said it was the opinon of everyone so I don't think that tone was needed. I personally wouldn't care if we didn't get gold. I belong to other fourm sites that do not have avatars and don't give out gold. So yes, people would still come around and in my opinion, the site would be better off becuase it cuts down on people who just come on to gain pixels. =/

If I'm on here for a while I can make like 500g a day (Not a huge amount, I know. ;____; I'm mainly a lurker.) Rigth now my golds down the tube because I bought this lovely cloak yesterday and I haven't been on all today. So, yeah. I think the way I write does help me earn a little extra gold though, even if it does kill my English paper grades. TT____TT

I know. I'll be saving up gold for an item and then splurge on something else I arbitrarily decide is pretty. Especially when they add new items. >.<
Oh well. And there's always Descender for some quick gold.

Never did say that your opinion spoke for everyone. I belong to a good number of forums which have no gold or item based incentives to join, just a community feel, or a place for people to talk about a particular subject. However I don't think this particular forum would survive very well if the items go away.

People still go to forums without incentives like gold and items, but a good chunk of people wouldn't be here if not for these things.

Something being an opinion doesn't make it sacred, so, you said your opinion, and I responded to it. Also, saying that the forum would be better without something which is a large draw for other people. Well, it might be your opinion, but that doesn't stop it from being quite condecending.

The point is that Mene is more community based than economy based-- You come to play around with the avis but the main focus is conversation. Gold is secondary.

I find it very easy to make gold here. I haven't made much lately because I've been buying a lot of art (so much so I've opened up a shop again! I even opened up one on Gaia to take advantage of the artists there as well!) and partially because I don't have much time with work. I haven't gotten used to it yet.

But otherwise... I don't know. I post all day on Gaia and I make next to nothing. I post all day here and I make a ton.
