Why yes, the swearing problem has gone down quite a bit so there's a plus side ;]. I'm only thirteen so that means I would've only been able to fight once my whole life =O? Not quite to how many times I've actually fought >__<. No to lying right now though ^__^. Everything I've said in this thread has been true, I'm not giving you any bull right now =3. The two sins are:
Lust
Greed

& the occasional envy. But I haven't gotten envy in quite a while. Usually only lust and greed :].

I forgot to respond to the metal music part xD. I should've explained that with more detail in the first post >__<. Metal music (usually but not always) contains un-Christian like content. Such as sex (with a bunch of girls when the bible tells you only to have intercourse after you're married with only your spouse), swearing (majority of it metal has at least one in the song), and references to satan/hell in a good sense (such as saying stuff that the singer 'dwells in hell'). Things like that :S

I explained further on these matters in the post I just made on the 5th page I believe =3. But yeah, the golden rule is very important in Christianity :]

Or, that's according to my definition. By what you said, I think that most Christian people would say you aren't going to heaven, which sounds more like what you mean.
It's pretty important to me that I get into heaven >__>. But yeah. Having faith is what makes you a Christian. What gets you into heaven seems to be something completely different Dx . Yes, I get told that I'm going to hell x___x. I don't get much support, believe me...

First time I heard that. But I could see why you would say that. It's not really a label. I'm not trying to be the perfect image of a Christian. No. That's not possible. I'm just trying to fit in (for the most part at least) into Christianity. It seems your saying I'm a semi-Christian >__>. Or I'm not Christian at all? I'm not doing the best at being religous seems to be your bottom line though =3

So I guess in a sense, your a Christian living in doubt. I'm just about as confused as you are. But, I care about what I do. I attempt to not break the commandments but as a human, I sometimes do. Sometimes I want to ask God "Is it alright for me to do this under these circumstances?". The bibles a hard thing to understand >__>. I want to live my life for all it's worth as well but it's still possible to enjoy life under the restrictions (or 'guidelines' as some call it) of religon.

It's been my experience that the majority of Christians out there are only Christians because their parents are. Rarely have the ones I have been in contact with decided on it for themselves, or really even asked questions about it. Although, to be fair, that is true for many religions.

The whole "We are loving and tolerant as long as you believe what we do." thing that I have experienced with Christians, more accurately Catholics, is a joke.

I say, and always have, that if you think you are a good person, you most likely are. Don't worry about fitting into the mold of a religion. Just be happy and live your life.

I think people have forgotten what Christianity really means. THe term is coined from believing that Jesus was the son of God and died for peoples sins. If you believe that, then you are a Christian. Who cares if you flip people off, lie, and whatnot. Isn't God supposed to forgive your sins? I mean, come on, you are human. You are supposed to fallable. Not perfect.

Most of the Bible was written to suit people's needs. I wouldn't say that anyone would go to Hell for breaking a commandment. Why would you even want to believe in a God that would do that to you? I think most of it is meant to give people guidelines, and to not take some of things portrayed too seriously.

I think that all that matters is that you have a personal relationship with God. Don't let anyone else try to define your religious beliefs, because no one has the exact same views.

I think that as long as you are a good person, it doesn't matter about all that other garbage. Just live a good life and don't be mean to people on purpose.

I don't define myself as any one religion. I like aspects of every religion and have formed my own belief based on my own experiences. I think that is what is most important.

The Bible has always confused me. It seems to me that all these people are under the impression that God wrote the bible... and that's messed up. Then there are those who say that God, in effect, wrote it, using people to do His dirty work.

I say feh to the whole thing.

I'm agnostic, but I tend to lean more toward paganism, just because of what I was brought up around.

Agreed. Anyone can say, "God told me to write this." How can you be sure? The main point of the Bible, is faith, but sometimes I can't put my faith into misconstrued words written by people whom, claim to have spoken to God. Most of it was rewritten by King James to fit his purposes. And they are many other books written for the Bible but was never actually published. Gee, I wonder why? If it came from God, shouldn't it also be in the Bible? It always makes me wonder what people didn't want us to know.

I think that people put way too much stock into the Bible and take it way too seriously! If you really did EVERYTHING the Bible said to do, then the world would be a boring place, considering it was written hundreds of years ago. Circumstances change, I always wondered why the Bible never changed to fit our modern day needs. Surely God didn't stop giving messages to people? Or did he?

I know the feeling. I don't like my parents too much either. Moreso, my mom. I think they need to give me their respect if they expect me to give it to them -.-

Yeah. Everyone messes sometimes, we're only human after all =3. But I do believe that you need to attempt at least to not sin terribly xD. I think repenting and such is more important though >__<. I've been going to church since I was a baby, so I've been going for almost 14 years x3

On a side note, your hair is very colorful and pretty ^__^

Well, what is definable as Christian really varies. So they really could not be hypocritical. But yes, some Christians are pretty hypocritical. But then again, that's true for about every religon.

Wow! I think you hate him more than I do? Have you ever seen the documentary "Jesus Camp?" It gives a closer insight to evangelicals. If you hate them now, you will hate them even more. They were encouraging 8 year olds to protest abortion. I have a 9 year old, and I don't even think that she is old enough to know what abortion is, let alone sex. It is really, really sad!

Lutheran...Hm, my cousin is that too xD. Yeah, I mean it's not like God expets us to be perfect, we're all only human. I guess asking for forgiveness and repenting is the main thing, more than what you actually did. And as long as you believe in him and trust him, will get you farther in life I think.

Lutherans FTW. It's probably my most favorite Christian denomination (though, I'm a bit biased since I'm Lutheran. ). Basically, what I've gotten out of my teachings in the Lutheran church is that you can do WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT, and still go to heaven (except maybe something insane like murder or rape?). So I curse, skip church, never pray, sin, etc etc all the time without worrying about my future after I die. Heck, I even don't believe in the Bible half the time, and I still think I'm going to heaven! It's pretty darn nice, if you ask me. =D
Haha, yeah that sounds a lot more do-able to me x]. But I don't think church generally is bad, just mine. Praying is so normal for me, if I stop it'll seem off to me >__<.

Yeah, I feel like there needs to be some kind of law against children picketing. That saddens me that people make their kids do things like that. It should be filed under child neglect. The whole world makes me sad....

That is true actually. Most parents have a religous mold in which most kids are sort of 'forced into' in a sense. I'm one of them. But I've grown to believe in God and the majority of Christian beliefs.

Yeah, enjoying life to the fullest is pretty important =D. But it's the afterlife that really scares me x___x
