Obscure Games.

Ok,so browsing in my local GAME, I come across This game called Shadow of Memories, and it seems I'm the only one that's heard of it. Basically, it's about a young man that must stop his demise by timetravelling and the like, changing his destiny. So I wanna know if anyone else has heard of it, If you have, what do you think of it?
Also, mention any other games you've plaed/owned that no else seems to know about.

P.S there's also this game called sheep I got that no one else seems to know about, but hey.

Killer 7. As my best friend put it- "the awesomest game that no one's ever played."

It's spread out to the PS2 now, which is nice. Beforehand it was only on the gamecube, which only worsened its obscurity.

If you see it, I highly recommend it if you like weird surrealistic zombie games. And it's only 10 bucks for a new copy. Can't lose there.

The Mystical Spoon 06-14-2007 01:00 PM

I was tempted to get that for PS2...I didn't in the end, It was £35 I didn't have enough. :<

Echo Night for PS1. Hella scary. Haunting Ground for PS2 is also wicked... I had to quit playing it because I had nightmares.

lonewolf 07-04-2007 10:16 AM

killer 7 was terrible...has to be said...hmm...well not many people have played team buddies before...ohhh and tunguska for ps1, so crap that no one bought it :D apart from me cos i liked the cover

EbilKitty 07-04-2007 10:56 AM

OMG I frickin' love that game. It's a total classic... and I always want me some jellybeans after playin' it.

Another obscure game for NES was Little Nemo... that was an awesome game.

Kooky 07-05-2007 02:24 AM

Kasumi 07-05-2007 01:46 PM

I know of a few obscure games:
J2 Wonder Project for the N64
Echo Night for the PS1

X-thrax 07-05-2007 06:11 PM

Monster Party on the NES.
It's weird, but I like it. :D

Zeus is a game I play all the time on my PC. It's a city builder, based on the Ancient Greek culture. I bought it for about ten dollars in Sam's Club, and I've never met anyone else who plays the game. It's a bit cheaply made, but fun all the same. The best part is how they try to incorporate mythology into the general game play.

Not too many people seem to know about Dynasty Warriors or the other games that fall in with the same era of time. Also, not to many people seem to have heard of Disgaea. oh and there's one more....well not so much anymore since they started coming out with G. U. series but the .hack games?

Bunai 11-02-2007 07:34 PM

i dont own it yet. but i am sure to get it.
its called "Chulips"/Kissy Lips. its about a boy who wants to win a girls heart. so he does all this stuff for other people LOL
and it involved kissing...hmm

A LOT of people know about Dynasty Warrior...
there is a game of it every year. lol

I have played this game called that Summoner that none of my friends have played. It's for the PS2. The story line is basically a young man search for the person to teach him how to summon things. XP

I have that game though the box for mine reads as Shadow of Destiny, but still the same game, I kinda dislike it but that's due to you have got to be real quick on path decisions. Also I didn't like the fact that you had five ways to end the game other than just die die. Another game I've played that I don't hear much is Break Thru, which is made by the guy who made Tetris, but is a much more relaxed gameplay you still have timer but you don't have to worry if your stack hits the top.

charis_mae 11-03-2007 06:17 PM

I'd been curious about Shadow of Destiny, and this thread made me go and read a plot analysis of it...now I'm glad I never bought it.

Bunai 11-03-2007 11:29 PM

ah how could i not spotlight it

Danger Girl.
may not be for everyone. but it amused me in my gaming time. its based on three comic book characters. the main character is Abby Chase. so you can look that up if you want.

compared to games today. the game play will feel stale.
its sort of like Tomb Raider.
lol. and feels like an early version of Shenmue

I have that game! =D It came with a gaming magazine around here. I also love one of the games of that series that takes place in Acient Rome, Caeser 3. Oh, and Pharao, that takes place in Acient Egypt is awesome too.

Obscure games I have...

Vagrant Story
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Ico
Shadow of Colossus
Freedom Fighters
Oni
Psychonauts

Bururian 11-05-2007 10:21 PM

I always seem to play the games that none of my friends have heard of. Some of note are Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Rez, Gitaroo Man, and others. Shmup games are also very under the radar compared to most games these days. Ikaruga is the type of game that people have heard of but few have played, only because its hard to find a copy of. I always liked Raystorm. It was a Playstation shooter that played as over the head and side scrolling, switching between the two. It was also in 3D, which added to the effect of the game. Xyanide for the Xbox was an interesting game. It was a shooter as well, but played very akward compared to other games. I could go on and on about it, but I'll cut my post short here for now.

I've never heard of that.

Speaking of obscure games, Obscure is an obscure game. :'D
It was kinda fun too because it was like a survival
horror that you could do with multiplayers.

SexualPlacebo 11-06-2007 10:59 PM

Hmmn, well. There was one . . . Called like. Excalibur 2444ad or something. :3 I only had the demo, and I loved it. Then finally. I got round to buying it and played it once then lost it. xD It was for PS1. That and Sheep Dog and Wolf. No-one's heard of that but it's so fun. xD I think it's for ps2. I've forgot. OH AND, there was Space Channel 5. That was so weird. :/ Klonoa isn't that well known either. Love it. And Escape from Monkey Island, thats hilarious. <3

SexualPlacebo 11-06-2007 11:21 PM

xP Ohh okay.
I knew it was for one of the ps'.
I got it promo version from my cousin. :3

Jack of Blades 11-10-2007 02:17 PM

SkullMonkeys:
A side-scrolling game with levels and sprites made entirely out of clay! From the people who made Clay Fighter for the N64. I rented it once way back when for the PS1...and I've yet to find another copy...I really liked the game, it was fun and imaginative...and the song that was sung when the character entered the Bonus Room... so funny...

Mad Maestro:
A orchestra-conductor-simulator for the PS2...^^;
It's in the vein od DDR...where you have to hit the right notes at the right time in order to 'bring harmony back to the world'. It was a tad strange, but it was fun X3

Mister Mosquito:
(PS2) A game where you play as, what else, a Mosquito!
You fly around a family's home and strategically suck their blood. The game gave you specific targets and specific ammounts of blood to suck. If the humans spotted you (either visually or through you sucking their blood for too long at one time)you entered a strange battle-mode where you had to dodge their flaying fists and bite them in the style of acupuncture to calm them down =3
