Ten got a tablet!

Tablets are so much fun, I got one, and already I have learned how to do body poses I have never thought I would learn how to do with a computer. ^^

It was the cheapest one, and since I have never had a tablet, I wanted a cheap one.

What programs do you use? GIMP is like frozen with my tablet pen. D:

I got mine from best buy. ^^

And I use the free version of art rage, and of course MS paint.
GIMP makes mine freeze up as well, but, I have gotten it to work if you open gimp before you plug in your tablet.

Art Rage? Hmm... I use the Corel Painter the tablet came with and I'm trying to learn with OpenCanvas 1.1.
It's so hard, though, because I'm so used to GIMP and it's easily accessible and editable layers. XP
Maybe I'll try plugging my tablet after opening GIMP, then...

I can't stand coral, and I stink at layering.
I don't even know why you need layers. Maybe you can teach me sometime.

Layers are really useful! For example, if you want to color in the lines, you need to set your colored layer on Multiply. If you want to change the color of your lineart, you add a layer, color it the color you want it to be, and set it on overlay or screen.
If you were pixeling an item on a base, and you decide you want to rotate just one part of it ( like say, a leaf? ), you cut it out of the layer, rotate it, and add it on another layer -- all without disturbing the base! ( this actually happened to me recently, where I was layerless. AAAH, PAINFUL! I had to copy parts of the base just so I didn't have a big gaping hole Dx )

I understand some, but I don't get why you need colors on separate layers.
I do all my colors on the same layer.

The one I like to use is the one with the Sailor Moon picture with a GIMP tutorial... P:

Well, were coloring lips or something.
You're blending and smudging everything for shading, and you decide you don't like one of the colors you're using ( say you're using a pale peach, a light fushia, and a plum to color -- let's say it's plum you don't like ), and you try to remove it without removing the other colors, how would you do it?
If they were on layers, you'd just have to delete your plum layer, and start with another color -- no harm done to the other color layers.
If you didn't do it with layers, you'd have to color over the plum and start aaaall over again for the lips. =P
