... uhm... gosh, I really don't know how to respond to this. xD;;

... so uh... hey! Kittens! They're cute. Like puppies.
Everyone loves those things.

Eserel 04-05-2009 12:23 AM

kitties are way better than puppies

tentenpuff 04-05-2009 12:55 AM

Kittens are so cute. I wish I had one. :C
-likes tabbies best-

Thoth Star 04-05-2009 05:17 AM

Yeah kitties are great... I love my kitty cat... She's 12 this yr. and she still acts as if she's a little kitten...

tentenpuff 04-05-2009 06:26 AM

Aww! Can I have her? xD
What does she look like? >w<;

Jeannesha 04-06-2009 03:03 AM

Aww...I miss my kitties. We've gotta go to a shelter one of these days and find us another kitty. Ours died at ages 18 and 14.

tentenpuff 04-06-2009 03:14 AM

Awwww. D: I'm sorry.
What happened to them, if you don't mind me asking?

Thoth Star 04-06-2009 05:50 AM

Isn't 18 pretty old for a cat? My cat is 12 but she still acts like when she was 5... She plays with our dog (poodle) quite often.

tentenpuff 04-06-2009 09:04 AM

Aww! xD
Sounds so cute. I wish I had pets. >;

xD;
I have no idea about the age range for pets. ._.;

Jeannesha 04-06-2009 03:49 PM

We had gotten both kittens at the same time.

Maxx died at 14 of probably heart failure. He was very overweight.
When he was 12, the vet said that he could go at any time, but we nursed him along for 2 more years. He died at home in the middle of the night, with me sitting on the floor holding him and crying my eyes out. It wasn't an easy death - he basically drowned with his lungs filling up.

I swore that I would never let the other one, Misty suffer that way.

With Maxx gone, Misty became the only cat, which she actually loved cuz she got all the attention, but she did miss Maxx. She was going into renal failure for the last 3 years of her life. When she was 18, and it appeared that she was starting to be in quite a bit of discomfort, we called the mobile vet, who came and put her down. I sat on the couch and held her. It was much calmer. Of course after she was gone, I cried my eyes out.

But they both had very long lives for cats.
They are now in plain little wooden boxes on our mantel, with little ceramic statues of kitties on top.

(So we're sentimental fools.....)

Thoth Star 04-06-2009 03:57 PM

Thats so sad Jeannesha... Its always hard when you lose a pet. ;;
I'm sentimental too. I have pictures taped to my mirror of all my cats that I've ever owned starting from the cat I had as a child (Jack) to the last 4 cats I've owned... The bravest cat I had was Tiger... he would attack raccoons, cars, people... he was crazy and the smartest cat I have is the one I currently own Boots... she likes to open doors, turn on the facet when she's thirsty and she says "hewo," "brown" (that means she's hungry) and "wrooor" which I think means 'let me outside' cuz she says that whenever she's by the front door...

spicedroses 04-06-2009 04:03 PM

Hi, I've only ever had one cat, he named him smokey cause he was such a pretty gray color. he and our dog were great together, and when he got hit by a car we kept his picture up on the icebox for years. our dog abbie seemed to get depressed after that and she hardly played at all anymore.

Jeannesha 04-06-2009 04:36 PM

It's pretty amazing how the animals also love us and other pets too. You can tell, because they also get depressed whenever one of their loved ones dies.

Misty used to howl at night, looking for Maxx after he was gone. It was strange, because when he was alive, he wasn't very nice to her, and she basically stayed away from him. We had a really tall cat post with 3 different levels on it. Maxx was so fat he couldn't get up to the top level, but Misty could. So she'd lay on the top level and tease him. You could almost hear her going "nyah, nyah....can't get me".
Kinda like a pesky little sister...

Thoth Star 04-06-2009 10:50 PM

Aw thats really sad, Spice. why didn't you get another cat to keep Abbie occupied?

Hmm that is interesting Jeannesha... I think animals get lonely if they only have humans around... Its really sad since fat cats and dogs never live for very long. My grandpas dog is sooo fat. I think he might die soon... he waddles around the house, eating bones all day... he seems kinda depressed.

Jeannesha 04-07-2009 02:16 AM

I like your avatar, Thoth.

You kinda look like a pirate that just got up and is having his morning coffee.

Thoth Star 04-07-2009 03:06 AM

Hehe thanks Jeanne. I really like yours too... You're like a dragon demon princess. XD
Having a good night? I'm listening to some music and having some konda coffee.

Jeannesha 04-07-2009 03:23 AM

Dragon demon princess.... I like it!
Maybe next week I'll try for Amazon jungle warrior.

I've been putting off going to bed...
I've been over in the Purple Palace, quoting (or trying to quote) some Moody Blues.

Rainbows 04-08-2009 12:07 AM

I've only had pets die of uncurable diseases. ._.; Or just serious medical problems, wtf.;
I had a dog, five years old or so, named Chumlee.. he was the least troublesome and the most lovable animal I've ever had. Dx He died from a cancer, I'm pretty sure... And then charlotte, she was five or six too, and was really sweet and protective. ._.; She died because of extremely low white blood cells.. And then my kitty, Scampers. x_x She had cancer, too.
Oh.. My mom's kitty died of old age. She was into her twenties, and they just put her down because she was really depressed and she couldn't do much of anything. She couldn't play without hurting herself, and she slept a lot. ._.;

Ohh, the book I just picked up today is called the purple palace! But, it's prequeled by some other book that I also picked up.. So I haven't read it, yet. o.o;;

Jeannesha 04-08-2009 05:48 PM

Well, the thread isn't really Purple Palace... but that's what I think of when I go there. Nice people there. (Nice people everywhere on Menewsha actually)

Rainbows 04-09-2009 02:23 AM

I looked at the book again- it's title isn't purple palace, it's purple SOMETHING ELSE!
O_O;

But I can't remember what it is...

Thoth Star 04-09-2009 04:16 AM

Totally Jeanna... I like this site... its way different atmosphere from gaia.

Jeannesha 04-09-2009 04:21 AM

But Gaia started their Easter event early. I wish Menewsha would do that.
I've been looking for eggs on Gaia - would rather do something for event items here.

Thoth Star 04-09-2009 04:51 AM

Yea I never liked the events on gaia... they seem kinda boring. On menewsha it seems like they try to get people move involved... by having games and competitions.

Jeannesha 04-09-2009 09:37 PM

I don't do so well in direct competitions. (I was the one last picked for dodge ball). I much prefer the interactions.

If it's too competitive, like grabbing eggs on zOMG, then I fail utterly...
