Game - life is now EXACTLY like a video game!

You wake up one morning to discover that your world as you know it has been transformed. Life is now exactly like a video game. Monsters roam the lands, and for some mysterious reason they leave money behind when they die. Every time you emerge victorious in battle, you do a series of jumping-jacks (thanks, Kaldeagirl!). Some evil superpower is trying to take over - but that evil superpower is merely the puppet of an even greater superpower. There are damsels to rescue, parties to gather, and skills to learn.

1. What job class do you choose? You can pick any job class from any game: FF-based, WoW-based, you get the idea.

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?

3. What will you do with your life? Mercenary for hire, getting rid of monsters? Shop-keeper, selling necessities to adventurers? Hero, trying to take down the evil superpowers? Right hand man of the evil superpowers? Something else entirely?

My answers:

1. What job class do you choose? I've always loved the red mages from Final Fantasy. They get to do basic magic AND kill things with sticks. That's probably the route I'd choose.

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one? If I assume that I can cast magic no matter what weapon I choose, I'd go with the staff. You know, so I can kill things with sticks and fire.

3. What will you do with your life? I like the mercenary for hire angle, because one of my favorite parts of video games is killing things, levelling up, and making money while I'm at it. I'd probably break down and join a hero team eventually, though I wouldn't want to lead it. I'd be the idiot comic relief in the background, hitting on one of the other characters, oblivious as to whether or not they like me back.

Aw man, if only this was really true. >.<

I love Mages, so I'd probaly be a mage of some sort. Prferable water or fire. But, there's always swordswoman... I adore that class with a pashion. Either one.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
Probaly just a staff, if I were a Mage, that I would use all of my magic with. >.< If I were to be a swordswoman, well, I'd use a sword of some sort. xD

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I would difinatly travel the world. Nothing would be able to stop me from doing so, and I would get a chance to meet new and interesting people. I'd probaly join someone's party, or make one of my own. I guess it would all depend if the world was in dire need of a hero to stop an evil king. >w<

No kidding. Life would be so much more fun this way.

It's also amusing to think of a ton of hero groups running around trying to save the world. "But WE started first!" "But WE have a healer - you guys would get wiped out." "Oh shut up, WE'VE been levelling up for five years!" Always amazes me that only one tiny group of people in Video Game Land get off their butts and try to be heroes.

/puts on robe and wizard hat >:3 If only this were true~ I'd have so much fun.

1. What job class do you choose?
A cleric~ Oh the joys of healing... and the not so joyful moments of everyone demanding buffs x.x

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
Every game that I've been a cleric in required a weapon. So, I'd pick a staff, or, in the case of Rappelz, a mace.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
Time to go spam heal in a dungeon party =D Other than that, travel around doing cleric-ly duties. Clerics lack the whole mercenary for hire dealie :c Though maybe I could buff/heal people for monies o 3o

Kaldeagirl 06-13-2007 11:31 PM

Hey you forgot, "and every time you emerge victorious in battle, you do a series of jumping-jacks" xD

1.
Quote:

What job class do you choose?
Fighter, definitely. Martial arts based, like Yang Fang from FF4. I'm not at all a fan of the mage class for one reason or another. I need something that allows me to jump around and be really mobile in combat.

2.
Quote:

Brass knuckles or some sort of gloves. I guess a weapon wouldn't really be needed, but it would be wise to have something to cover your hands. Then again, a small sword or round blade might be cool to swing around during battle.

3.

Have amazing adventures, of course! I'd probably travel with a small band of Robin Hood-esque thieves, and exploit airheaded nobles. We might pose as a theater troupe and kidnap heirs for randsom *cough*Final Fantasy 9*cough* or vend items with unexpected effects.

Edited this in, just for you. ;)

I'm not a fan of the pure-mage classes either. In any games I play, usually my mages and healers are woefully underlevelled because I enjoy smashing things more than using magic against them. That's why I went with red mage - you get some of the more basic magic commands, but your main task is the smashy-smashy.

Kaldeagirl 06-14-2007 12:33 AM

Aww, thank you >w<
I feel special.

I do enjoy the smashy-smashy~

Aliena 06-14-2007 04:21 AM

Aww man, the feminist-types are gonna hate me for this! lol

Quote:

1. What job class do you choose?
I'd probably do the white mage thing. I'd think healing and support would suit me best just because of my personality and the fact that I'm kind of a weenie! However, I'd also have some super-awesome Holy type spells once I became experienced enough.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
Probably a staff of some sort. Don't white mages usually have staffs? If it had anything to do with my profession, though, I'd carry a lute or something and try to center my magic through music.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I'd be the beautiful, wandering minstrel girl who coincidentally meets the hero who's trying to save the world. And of course, since I'd be wandering and had no real place to call home, I'd go with him. Heck, I don't mind being a rescued damsel and having that be how I hook up with the team! There's certain romance involved in being a damsel! lol. Not everyone can be a superman!

Alegretto 06-14-2007 05:21 AM

Hn... so this follows just the generic RPG-style realm? Aw man. I wanted a Killer 7-type thing. But here goes...

Quote:

1. What job class do you choose?
Red Mage. I get to mess with every class, and I won't suck at it like the bards do. Or a Red Mage/Dragoon combo. If I follow Guild Wars, I'm so doing a Ritualist/Mesmer combo. Or I'll go as Vickon, my Elementalist/Warrior.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
for the Red Mage/Dragoon combo, it's going to be a giant pike or lance... preferably poisoned. For the Rit/Mes, a staff made from the bones of a great spirit channeler, preferably one of my ancestors. With the Ele/War, it's the fire staff of death... backed up by the hammer of whammage.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
For the Red Mage/Dragoon and Ritualist/Mesmer ideas, I'm definitely going into some form of con artristry. Though as the rit, I can also do spirit summons as an extra source of income. As the ele, though, I'm doing how I'm playing Vickon- I hate you all, but I'm saving the world and your butts anyways.... because I like hurting monsters more. :D

1. What job class do you choose?
Probably a Mage of some sort. Likely a Black Mage. I like the idea of attacking long range, and I like the idea of being able to summon various elements to attack... though I'd likely misuse them so I could start fires, dump cold water on people I don't like, and so on. XP

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?

Hmm... Mages seem to usually get some kind of defensive weapon like a staff. I actually like the staff as a weapon because it's fun and you minimize the chances of killing yourself if you mishandle it. However, a sword would also be a good idea. Why do mages always wear robes and shit anyway? If they wore leather trousers/tucked in shirts like the heroes, they could carry swords and use them without worrying about tearing their clothes to pieces/making asses of themselves. Oh, and it'd be less likely they'd give away their abilities to the enemy, too. Pfft.

That said, I'd likely go for either a javelin, or for a short sword of some sort. Either would likely throw most people off the scent of what I can really do. =P

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I'd travel, definitely. Maybe study the magic and train people (though I don't like teaching).

1. What job class do you choose?
I would probably be a cleric. Ever since I have been playing D&D when I was younger and then in most other roleplaying, I have been a cleric... I love playing a cleric, I'm damn good at it, and its just my favorite class, that and a mage. The magic and healing aspect of roleplaying is what I'm all about.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
I'm all about the staff. The mace is ok, or even a flail, but the staff, is just a hot piece of fighting machinery.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I would probably buff/heal people for money. Or just travel around joining random groups for short periods of time to help them out. Living it out travelling the whole time would be great, staying in one place would just be boring.

Asahi Kumoru 07-23-2007 06:52 PM

Aah, this would be so awesome 8D

Quote:

1. What job class do you choose?
I would be some sort of Ranger or Hunter-type character. I'd pick a giant crab or something unusual but useful as an animal companion, and I'd also thoroughly enjoy setting traps >D Maybe I'd have some sort of magical attunement to the Earth, but, while magic would be thoroughly awesome, I think I could live without it if I had to.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
Bow is too obvious an answer, so I want a Chu-ko Nu, because repeating crossbows are AWESOME. Somewhat inaccurate, but as a trade off, I could fire something like 15 shots in 10 seconds. It might be handy to have a longbow, too, though, for when the accuracy does matter. And for hand-to-hand combat, I think hook swords 8D

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I'd be the one setting the traps and then getting the monsters' attention to make them run into said traps. Make things a little easier for the warriors to do the real fighting. I think it'd also be fun to take up some sort of jewelry crafting-type profession, too.

I would be an elementalist, I think it would be badass to control the elements.

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
A cool wand or staff of some kind, preferably a one-handed weapon so I could hold a shield or some other helpfull artifact in my other hand.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
Mercenary for hire, getting rid of monsters? Shop-keeper, selling necessities to adventurers? Hero, trying to take down the evil superpowers? Right hand man of the evil superpowers? Something else entirely? I would be taking out monsters, searching for and destroying the evildoers, and saving any people who needed my help.

Rapier. And magic of many varieties, of course.

Quote:

Someone fighting against the evil, completely independent of the hero. Unfortunately, I'd probably end up dying or something going by most cliches. >_>;

- Probably just join random parties to go on completely pointless adventures just for the thrill and excitement of it.

Jesmond 07-31-2007 02:07 AM

Ahh... there are so many answer I could have for these....

Quote:

1. What job class do you choose?
- Either a thief or a mage, but I'd probably go mage anyway. Element would probably be earth (if I could only choose one).

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
- Probably a staff that requires two hands, but not one so heavy that I can't carry it. Light enough so that I can swing it easily and block attacks if I need to.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
- Mage for hire. ;D

Steve the Garden Hose 08-01-2007 12:17 AM

I wish this happened ;-;

1. I'd be a sniper. I always liked killing things from a distance :3

2. Bows and Arrows man ;D

3. Protecting people, serving as a body gaurd, etc..

You can pick any job class from any game:
Totally gonna be a Blue Mage. D8 If only for their stylish fashion. But no, I'd be goin' around learning monsters' attacks all over the place. D: <3 Which, hopefully the new game world lets you die, 'cause I know I'm gonna get impaled or burninated more than a few times in the process. >>;

Quote:

2. What weapon do you choose, if your job class requires one?
Blue Saber, so I can use Learning? >_> Yey FFT. Even though the weapon itself's kinda crap. xD

Mercenary for hire, getting rid of monsters? Shop-keeper, selling necessities to adventurers? Hero, trying to take down the evil superpowers? Right hand man of the evil superpowers? Something else entirely?
Probably hero, taking down the evil superpowers. I'm a traditionalist. D8 And I'd travel with my Beastmaster buddy, who helps me get monsters to attack for learning more blue magic, and eventually he'd turn evil, and I'd have to use the same magic he helped me acquire, to defeat him in a tragic twist of fate, yes indeed. >3>

charis_mae 10-14-2007 05:31 PM

I'd choose a mage and have my weapon be a book. That way people can't tell if I'm a normal person or a fighter until my book is bashing their skulls. And I'd probably use my skills to lead a fairly normal life. ...and fight crime at night!

(The book-bashing is based on an actual fighter, by the way: Alice Elliot from Shadow Hearts. :D)

A long sword. A kick-ass one.

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
That's a hard decision. I see me as being either the hero, or at least the hero's companion... or a right-hand woman on the villan's side. I'd probably end up switching to the good side eventually anyways, goodness always winning and what-not, you know.
Either way, I'd be traveling a lot, and slaying things. Not to mention seducing innocent hot swordsman along the way.

A gun, of course. XD

Quote:

3. What will you do with your life?
I would probably use a gun in battle, but for the most part, I'd probably take up odd jobs in various towns, setting out on missions depending on the work I was given. To say I'm a mercenary for hire would probably be inaccurate, or some kind of hunter...I'd rather the work be more significant. Not just hunting and killing for money, but perhaps for a reason more than just wanting something dead.

An example circumstance would be if I were to be hired to flip certain switches to get power running back into a town or city, I could do that, only I have to fight my way through monsters to get to it. :)

I want a kick-butt staff, or a magic flute. Maybe a giant spellbook that can double as a melee weapon.

It would be so awesome if life was really like that. ^.^ For me I would choose...

Class: Ninja - I like killing things with stealth and speed.
Weapon: Katana - I've always been a fan of blades.
This type of blade is pretty and was made for killing enemies quickly and efficiently. ^_^
Life: I would probably be a free-lancer. Traveling the world, killing monsters,
and taking missions along the way.
