Kill The Hackers D:<
Ugghh.
Around 10 minutes ago, i just got my account hacked on GaiaOnline with over 400k stolen. It's pretty sickening to see people going to desprate measures just to get their hands on some innocent, hard working person's gold. I mean, come on!, it's just a game for crying out loud. People take it way too seriuosly. And to go hack someone's account because what, it makes them feel better about themselves? I am just disgusted over this. All hackers for every single site should burn in the depths of hell for their crimes. Well like i said, it's just a game and i shouldn't be taking it too seriously. But when my account got hacked, it felt like i lost a part of my life. EDIT Okay, it seems like people are believing that i gave my password away? Or fell for a stupid PM hack? And some just want to know the complete story, and i am getting tired of typing it over again. So here it is: When i view my profile, i have a comment left by a friend. It says to vote for her avatar in the arena with a link to it. She was my friend, and i did trust, so i thought nothing of the link. When i clicked it, it sent me to the front login page. So i logged in, only to find a random thread in the chatterbox. And that was when i knew. I rushed to change my password, but by the time i was finished, my gold had been reduced to a mere 2k. I was very upset and confused at the same time. I realized it was a keylogger. So i could do noting about it. But that was when i saw that my items weren't touched. So i quickly sent them all to my mule account, and luckily, they were saved. I had a life on that account. Friends, gold, items, shops, contests entries, and collectibles that i payed with actual money. I lost half a million gold on that day, and i seriously will never forgive hackers. My friends have been good to me, donating and spreading the word. But i realized that money really isn't all that important to me on that site anymore. It's just a game after all. What really matters is the friends i made on that account, and i will never forget them. They are the main, and practically, only reason i ever visit Gaia anymore. And frankly, i wouldn't want it any other way. /EDIT Discuss: Any other people with hacking experiences? From GaiaOnline, Menewsha, or any other site? Do you like/hate hacking? (don't say like, i'll murder you :]) Do you know someone who was hacked? Hacking in general. xD |
I don't understand why people hack others for virtual money and items.
I hate having anything in my accounts (here, gaia ...or anywhere I play) that I haven't earned 100% by myself. It seems strange to me that anyone would want to steal pixelated items and virtual money to get themselves "ahead" in a game. What's the point in playing a game and cheating to "win". Seems pointless to me. Kind of like shooting the other players in a running race and going around yelling "I WON!" ...well yes, yes you did win, but everyone else is DEAD! o.0 Oh well. Sorry you lost your stuff ._. |
I feel exacly the same way. It is true.
People today are so envious of everyone better than them, and it should stop soon. And thanks, hope i make some of it back soon. |

people only do things like that because they are getting back at gaia for one thing or another unfortuently gaia bans their account for some reason, then they take it out on others :( |

When i say dies in hell, i am exagerating. I don;t literally mean to die in hell, that's just cruel. But what i am implying is that something bad should happen to the, too. >D
That is true, but i meant the ranking of an avatar. If people dp have less money/bad items. They will think that the person on the site is better. I do not mean IRL personality, friends or family wise. I mean online gaming. |

I have LOTS of friends who were hacked. I was never hacked and delete my cookies frequently. ;D I don't like it. <33 I agree with Ebil! D: Winning should take hard work, other wise everyone can win. :] Just like what my mom said, few people can invent, otherwise everyone can invent something. ;D Sorry about that. D: |

Wow, I am really sorry to hear that. This is yet another reason why I've sunk into anonymity on Gaia.
My ex-boyfriend hacked into my e-mails quite a few times, but that was just because he was a psychopath. There was no monetary gain (e-monies or otherwise) to be had. |

Sorry to hear. I haven't been hacked yet on anything and I hope I never am. I too play Gaia and have since 03 so I've got some valuable items. I think hacking is so lame. People need to get lives if they are willing to hack someone on a game. Cheaters cheaters cheaters.

I've never been hacked on a site like Gaia Online, Menewsha or Zantarni,
and never been hacked on a site like Ragnarok Online or something. But my MSN has been hacked once, kinda mean, they were bullying alot of people in my list, reading all my emails .___. From that day I also keep my online and offline friendships seperated on 2 diferent accounts. And I hope it never happends again, or to anyone else. But I think some people get too obsessed by some stuff, that when they lose an account somewere, they sorta die in real life too... I think I've read a story of someone who got hacked somewere and he/she killed herself... wtf... |
