well.. I had been doing research on dub and sub! 8)
Proud to say I know how to sub and dub now. :lol:

nocturnal miyu 04-08-2008 08:19 AM

that's great... tho miyu just like subs... not really dubs... ^^;

xuvrette 04-08-2008 08:53 AM

Dubs are radio drama for me.
I don't like dubs for anime.

or should I say... dub for the official TV station are bad but for the fan made one, there are good ones. :lol:

I am amazed and just don't want to bring myself to admit they are dubs. >.<
but they are, though hard to find, but there are good dubs.

nocturnal miyu 04-08-2008 05:10 PM

well, i'm not saying ALL dubs are bad... but mostly... and even for the good ones, i would rather watch the anime subbed... ^^;

xuvrette 04-08-2008 05:40 PM

I am all for sub too~ for aninme at least. *giggles*

But really, I went to watch one of the China original anime, and I am criticise a LOT on voice. Miscontrol of volume and such... *shakes head*

nocturnal miyu 04-08-2008 05:45 PM

actually i think almost all chinese dubs suck... have you watched korean dramas? they're pretty horrible... i mean the dubbing... >.<
the mandarin is a little better than the cantonese ones... >.<

xuvrette 04-08-2008 05:52 PM

Because you are watching the official dubs?
lol. Official dubs are no good at all, fan made are much professional.

and for once, I don't like Korean show at all~ lol. SO I don't watch them~~

But to the beginning, why watch dub? the character shows well to speak their own language, sub is the best.

I research on dub is not for voice dubbing, but more to radio drama.

ToriKat 04-08-2008 07:46 PM

Whoa...had no idea there were Korean drama dubs. xD I just watch them raw or with subtitles. Depends...on what kind. If it's a school/modern one, I can get by with what I know. If it's a historical drama, I need translations. x_x

Seito 04-08-2008 08:12 PM

Korean drama. xD
God everyone around me is crazy about them. xD

ToriKat 04-08-2008 09:48 PM

I only really like the comedies. Like Delightful Girl Choon Hyang. The sappy romances...I'll pass. 8D *gets jealous of the girls in those shows* xD

Yeahhhh, I remember when I went to Honolulu during winter break, people were buying DVDs and whatnot of drama series. xD Even my Chinese half had huge collections. ^^;

nocturnal miyu 04-08-2008 10:14 PM

meave
fan or not, i think it just doesn't feel right for that kind of art to be talking in english i guess... XD
i mean if it was cowboy bebop or full metal alchemist, then if it's dubbed, it seems ok cuz they're not necessarily japanese looking... but somehow if it's regular japanese characters, i find it odd when they're dishing out any language other than japanese... ^^;

torikat
miyu doesn't know korean at all... so yeah... they dub korean dramas into chinese... i mean honestly, the chinese dub everything... XD they sometimes have english movies out before it shows on the big screen... XD

seito
my mom and aunt and one of my roommates are... miyu's not... ^^; they're too long or too dramatic... i like drama, but not when i keep on wanting to say, "are you stupid?" XD
there are a few comedies that i probably wouldn't mind, but yeah, that's about it... i usually just see snips of this or that whenever my family is watching it... ^^;

Leela 04-09-2008 02:39 AM

a well, maybe next time! When do we find out how much gold we get back?

Seito 04-09-2008 02:58 AM

@miyu *glomps* me too me too! They're good tearjerkers though. >> one episode I watched, didn't have clue about the storyline or who the hell all the people where, and I was sobbing my eyes out by the time it ended.

xuvrette 04-09-2008 06:17 AM

That makes me wonder why ShoSHo went to watch Indonesian dubbing! O_O

Seito, Meavey is not into Korean at all. :o I am all for Japanese.
and you just have to hear the 'Malay' dubbing! LOL.

Miyu, I only have one problem with Japanese. That is with their katakana. The words that pronunciation steal from ENglish and other language, they pronunce it with their own. Which I will like to hear it in their original language.

ToriKat 04-09-2008 06:46 AM

@Miyu: *laughs* I kind of want to see a Chinese dub...just to see what that's like. x3

@Meavy: *doesn't like Japanese dramas* xD The ones I've seen were so terrible I quit. Even the ones everyone recommended to me...I couldn't get into. *headdesks* @[email protected];;

xuvrette 04-09-2008 06:56 AM

I don't watch Japanese REAL show.
I only listen to Japanese ANIME radio drama.

Original is the best, Tori~ *pats*

ToriKat 04-09-2008 07:09 AM

Radio dramas? o_o *definitely can't understand those* xD I've never bothered because of that...^^; At least I can read the subtitles off of animes. 8D

xuvrette 04-09-2008 07:17 AM

lol, which mean, just voices, without visual.

so, we can listen without watching the awful art of anime.

ToriKat 04-09-2008 07:33 AM

You know Japanese? You're very multilingual too? *wonders what powers Meavy doesn't possess, faints*

xuvrette 04-09-2008 07:37 AM

Japanese is really just in learning and elementary standards.
and yes, I am multilingual educated.

Seito 04-09-2008 07:49 AM

@xu good good. xD

Half my family is into it and good chunck of my friends. I never have the faintest idea what they're talking about half the time. >>

xuvrette 04-09-2008 08:00 AM

I would feel so lost if people speak a language I don't know. lol.

nocturnal miyu 04-09-2008 08:32 AM

shosho
lol... well, i used to love chinese dramas... but they've been getting worse and worse... -_-

seito
lol... yeah... korean dramas sometimes have that effect on people... XD

meave
i don't know tho... i don't mind them saying it in the japanese way because it'll be kinda weird if they're speaking japanese and then suddenly some perfect english words come out of their mouths here and there... XD

torikat
i'm sure you can find it everywhere... XD

xuvrette 04-09-2008 08:37 AM

to me it sounds weird. Because the words are suppose to be English sound.
like Active, they make it Akutifu.
:roll:
