Pest Control

Have you ever had unwanted guest stay over.. say maybe roaches or rats. Then they breed all over the place and pretty soon you'll have so many from every corner.

With roaches before, I remember the house we use to live in.. had few roaches but it was very clean. I wasn't sure what was attracting them but in such a short time during the night there'd be hundreds off roaches. Especially the smaller size

We bombed the house with roach poison XD, it was the grosses thing.. Roaches came everywhere out of the house dropping dead.

It was a bit embarrassing.. Especially for me since I clean the house all the time.

In our new house, the only pest we have now are Raccoons and mosquitoes x_x

Spike our Monitor Lizard along with our dogs take care of the raccoons XP

Ouch. I hate it when that happens. D:

For a few months last year, our kitchen was infested with ants on-and-off. I eat cereal in the morning, and I couldn't even use a box a day old without having to pick out ants before eating. They were everywhere. Eventually they just went away, though. :?

And my room has fleas. Yeah, fleas. The old owners of this house used to let their two dogs sleep in here... and my room has a carpet. We've had to flea bomb it twice now, I think. Not for a while, though. And hopefully I'm moving downstairs soon.

linkfreak131 07-15-2007 02:28 AM

Well, at my old house, we once had a possum in our backyard. That's when we had a cat, too, and we were so scared that it would eat it, so we called Animal Control...

Funny thing, though, when we first found out it was in our backyard, it was hanging onto our wire fence, and it seemed like it was just sleeping... I'm pretty sure it someone ended up dieing while it was on the wire fence, and was still able to somehow still stay on. O_O;;; I was about seven when that happened (or younger, I can't really remeber) so I was really scared. D;

But, in my new house, we have had some problems with crickets... We had to spray bug spray cans whie we were out on vacation once... that wasn't fun...

At least we don't have any other serious problems now, though. XD

Elwing 07-15-2007 02:28 AM

I've had it with flies once :s
All of a sudden there were like 50 flies in our house :'(
Happen to had some oranges that we forgot, left in a dark corner in a closet
in the kitchen, and flies started to breed there D= yuck!!!

Orihime 07-15-2007 02:30 AM

oh that's horrible.. can you imagine fleas sucking on your blood.

they leave painful irritations ten times the size of a mosquito.

No no.. I hate blood suckers, I would run out of the house and sleep in a hotel.

It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.

Slugs are another disgusting pest.. my brother didn't notice one time while he was outside... a huge slimy slug climbing up his leg

eww eww eww.. x_x

Frog 07-15-2007 02:35 AM

I don't just imagine it, I experience it. xD

Yeah, it is horrible. But I've memorised the feeling of them... pretty much as soon as they jump onto my body, now, I squish them.

I haven't had to in a while, but now that I said that there'll probably be a baby boom tomorrow.

u__u;

Masochism 07-15-2007 02:40 AM

Yes we have a water Monitor, we also have a chameleon and a bearded dragon.

We have quite a zoo, but our animals are no where near as pest compare to those roaches x_x

Naiyo 07-15-2007 03:11 AM

since we are kinda the "stray cat home" (we put food out for them so they don't go hungry and all, and our cats like being outside) we always have a HUGE fly issue during the summer, its disgusting.
The window in our bathroom is open, and so currently we have mosquitoes all over, my legs are covered in bites. Along with the flies from the cat food we get raccoons too. They are terrible, my dog chases them off alot but still. They are scary little bastards :X

  • HHmm, my new house, we had that problem the first week we moved with some roaches, not many but the house was empty so they migrated in >.<;;; But not anymore Cx I hate pest

Bubblegum 07-15-2007 08:58 AM

My house has a fly problem. They just fly around the ketchen and the computer room. It's disgusting.

  • - What sort of pest do you have at your home?
    We have a LOT of musquitoes. D: They just keep coming and coming and coming and--.. ohh.. v__v;;
    We have some mice at the attic too. But we can't really complain about those though.

    - What do you usually do to get rid of them?
    We get rid of the musquitoes by just clapping our hands (aka making bloody spots at the walls). Me and my mom are allergic to their bites, so we just have to make them move. We also use things such as a little hummer. You know, with a high frequence, so it'll keep those insects away.
    We get rid of the mice by the good ol' mice traps. <3

twizted child eve 07-15-2007 02:41 PM

I've seen spiders. I hate them! I haven't really seen too much besides some ants, but they were at my mom's house.

Mosquitoes outside drive me nuts though. They always seem to bite me. Even if I have pants and a long shirt on. They bite my hand! Dx

Azureile 07-15-2007 03:57 PM

Aaugh, spiders. DDD:

We have a lot of spiders in this house...we're in a rental, and it's a pretty old house, so maybe...there's a way for spiders to get it? D:

it doesn't help that I'm scared to death of spiders, either. ^^;;;

I have a friend who has a slug problem. >x< Apparently, they're all over the lawn, and on the walls of the house.

me: ....bleeeeeeh. ;w;

I think I'm just scared of all insects and...slimy things? xD

Zefster 07-15-2007 05:07 PM

I don't mind spiders in my house, but roaches! I just couldn't imagine having an infestation, I would probably rather sleep outside! D: We had carpenter ants get into the rafters a few years ago, I was amazed at just how many there were when the exterminator flushed them out. D:

We used to have problems with racoons in our backyard because we have a large garden, so my dad used to trap them and set them loose in the wild. Possums too, but not nearly as bad. XD; Lately we've been seeing a fox that lives in the woods, but it hasn't done any harm and I personally think it's really neat to see! :3

Orihime 07-15-2007 08:00 PM

Raccoons make a mess in my garbage..

they tear the bags open and dig everything out.. it's annoying having to pick them up again.

Possums are scary.. their eyes glow in the dark and they are pale looking with a freaky tail. They are vicious too.

My Labrador hates raccoons and possums.. he barks at anything he sees in the night.

Addielyn777 03-03-2008 07:11 PM

^^

In the winter it is Squirrels! They tick me off sometimes! They somehow get into the heater system and we hear their little thumping of their feet! Every single night but I get used to it most of the time.Then at the summer it squirrels,roaches,flies,mosquitoes, raccoons,you name it!

~PrincessSerenity~ 03-03-2008 07:54 PM

Spiders. I have unbwanted spiders. I have no idea why, but they always come into our house. I useually have my mommy get rid of the, ^^;

I have a fear of spiders. Maybe that's why they keep on coming.

Sagitar 03-03-2008 08:02 PM

meh my house has never had any huge pest problems... just one summer in my old house, when I still lived with my mom and my sister we had FRYIT FLIES! like, hundreds of them.
that might not seem like a huge problem, but when you go to a bag of bread and open it to find out your fresh bought bread is FILLED with fruit flies... eww!! I threw the bread outside. >.<
the fruit flies where everywhere! we tried to spray them with bug spray, but they didn't care, and my mom used her SUPER strong and super expensive hair spray to taint them xD lol.
At one point I couldn't sleep in my bed because the book shelf next to it was crowling with those damn flies!

then came the winter and problem was solved ^^

Whimsy Charlie 03-03-2008 08:21 PM

One of the houses I used to live in was infested with cockroaches, it was a rented home and the owner had a closet that was locked and inside she had a bunch of things and the roaches were coming out of that closet. I couldn't even walk around without shoes because I'd step on one. D:

We tried getting rid of them, but since we couldn't open the closet we never got rid of them completely. Thankfully we moved out.

That house also had rodent problems, my dog actually killed a rat that was in out small backyard. T_T

hariihyuuga 03-03-2008 08:22 PM

I had this pest in my house once named my free loading stepbrother.
He ate all the food, used my shower, even started using my intarwebs!
But he left because LIEK OMG NO ONE UNDERSTANDS HIM.

:]

juniper_silver 03-04-2008 04:32 AM

We have an ant problem at my house. It's really gross. We sprayed poison around the house last time and it worked for nearly half a year, but now they're back and the poison isn't working because it's always wet outside and the poison only works when it's dry...so we have to wait to get rid of our ants.

jelachu 03-04-2008 04:35 AM

I live in FL, so we get roaches ALL the time!!!
X___X
they are soo gross! and we get giant ones...some people call them Palmetto bugs, but they look the same to me XP yuck!

Cherry Who? 03-04-2008 04:48 AM

Eww! Roaches are disgusting!
Luckily, we've never got infested with them. Occasionally one will show up, and it'll quickly meet the bottom of a shoe.
But one thing we have gotten infested with is lady bugs.
Lady bugs are cute and pretty outside. Outside. Then there's only like, one or two in sight. So when one lands on your hand, it seems special and nice.
When one lands on your hand while you're inside and have a drink, it's not cute. It's disgusting.
It's also disgusting when your window sills look like lady bug morgues because a few dozen have died trying to get out/buzzing the glass.
It's also gross when one lands in your drink. (You'll never want to drink in that room again)
It's also disgusting when one pees on you.
Those things have the most DISGUSTING smelling pee EVER. You don't think you'd be able to smell it. after all, it's only like, a drop. But if you have your hand a few feet away from your face, YOU CAN SMELL IT. So disgusting. Fucking lady bugs. Luckily, when we got new windows, they could no longer get in. Now we're lady bug free, happily. :)
