I had many uninvited quests in my house. I had a bunch of rats and a lot more ants. I will start with the rats, it was wintertime and rats came in the house looking for food. They were in ever single room in the house, there were baby mice too. So my dad got those mouse traps which shuts when the thing is triggered and some sticky traps. He placed cheese in the trap to lure them in, and put the traps where the rats where most likely to occur and be seen. we caught a bunch of mice like this. Most of them got stuck in the sticky trap and there was 2 mouse in one sticky trap, guessing the little mice travels together. The other trap thing worked too, except when it shut, it got shut on it's tail and blood was all over the floor. It kept squealing and it was annoying.
Now to talk about the ants, they were all over the house, the bathroom, my bedroom, living room, and the kitchen. The ants crawled around the window and the wall, some were coming from the closet and from other places, it was gross. I was bored so I stuck glue on some ants and they ran, then I took a blow dryer that only blows hot air and faced it towards the ants, they were flying. The ants in the kitchen was disturbing, it was all over the table and counter and my fridge, I saw some dead ants in the freezer too -___- I hope they don't come back. |
When I first moved into this house there were dead rats all over the place since the last owners had pest control come over and kill all the rats. Worst I have now are lose crickets from when I drop them when feeding my reptiles. They don't do much of anything, but make chirping noises at night. I did one time find a huge dead cricket in my bed, which grossed me out, but when keeping that many crickets, there's bound to be a few that get lose.
EDIT: Mouse traps and those sticky traps are pretty much the most inhumane way to get rid of pests. I honestly don't see how anyone thinks it's okay to use those when there's more humane ways to deal with things. The one time we did use them in the house, I cried so much because there was a small mouse caught in the trap by its tail and my dad ended up having to kill it with a broom. Technically it's illegal to use them anyways if you go by what the animal welefare act says, which is why I never got why they're sold legally since mice and rats are supposed to be killed humanely. |
We have spiders outside of our house. Especially in the back of the house. SO I don't usually go there. We have roaches too but little. I just HATE having bugs in our house. It just creeps the crap out of me. I remember one time when I was little, there was a HUGE cockaroach in my room. I screamed for my dad to wack it. So he cam with a newspaper and them tried to wack. Turned out the little devil damn fly! Once I saw it flying screamed all the way to my parens room and closed the door and locked it.
I was scared to go into my room for days once hey killed the roach. |
Aaaaah,yes....I remember when my house had roaches so we had to call those people who clean them out by putting some thing over your house....I forgot what it was called.Lol,totally not fun. Dx

How awful! But it's like they always say. There's NEVER just one.
I think we've only had a mouse or cockaroach here or there. And a cat used the bushes in front of the house for shelter. Maybe more than one cat if I think about it. |
I
hate pests! On hot summer days, I have all these insects swarm in by the bucketload through the little hole in my window! They all invade the sink, and worse, my BED! I hate sleeping and feeling a whole bunch of who-knows-what crawling around in my bed! It's so disgusting! :OO Flies are annoying too! The way they seem to bounce off anything just sounds gross...it makes a weird squishing juicy noise. -__-;; |
Man, seeing one roach makes me want to cry. If my house was invaded with them, I think I would just curl up in a ball and die xP
We had fleas in our house one time years ago because of our cat. Not as gross as roaches but extremely annoying. I mean, when one hopes on you, you can't just swat it off like a mosquito. You have to actually slice it in half with your nail to make sure it's dead. But those were easy enough to get rid of. We just set off a couple of those bug bombs while we went on vacation. Never had a problem with fleas again. |
Ugh, I remember what it's like to get roaches. Majoy downside to living in apartments-the suckers spread so easily when you get neighbors with them.
|
I've never had a huge problem with pests.
Well, ants once. That was gross. But they're gone now. I would probably freak and stay at a friends house if I had a big pest problem. I'm just like that. ^-^;; |
A lot of times, with roaches, or even larger pests like mice and rats, it can be impossible to get rid of them because of living in a row home/town house. Even if your house is just really close to another house that is infested, then you face dealing with their problem. A friend of mine has this problem because no matter how much she cleans, sets traps and bomb her place, the neighbors don't take care of their problem and it always comes back.
