Last time I flew, I was going from California to Ecuador, so that took quite a while.

To entertain myself, I brought my laptop, books, ipod, gameboy and art supplies. Some of it I used on the way there, some of it on the way back. I bought movies in Ecuador which I watched on my laptop on the way home so I wouldn't have to watch the crappy movies the plane was showing.

Sleep of course is always on the itinerary. And talking to my family. I had some great chatch-up time with my sister.

I hate babies...I don't like kids.

On a side note, the last time I flew from Philippines to U.S. (home, of course), I had a really bad stomachache that I couldn't eat for the whole duration of the flight (18 hours? Uh...I dunno)

Elwing 08-06-2007 04:10 AM

Never been in an airplane, but I've been through a few long boring car trips.
Gosh, I never can sleep, or get a chance. When I'm finaly falling asleep
someone or something wakes me up. Baaah.

mangacatgirl 08-06-2007 05:49 AM

Books... I always pack lots of books... Mostly manga... Also, hand held game systems such as Nintendo DS or Playstation Pocket can help to make the time fly (That sounds like a pun but it really isn't meant to be one...).

Alexandrus Gambino 08-06-2007 08:25 AM

D: Well, anyway, The airplanes we end up riding on have these... videoscreen thingamajigers. And there's always the food to look forward to.

toxicbear 08-06-2007 09:36 AM

Egh...I had a 7 hour plane trip before, but it wasn't all one flight, it was fly 3 hours, wait, fly 4 hours. Then an hour drive home..

Ahah the only thing I'll do is draw, read a magazine, or just sit there completely bored.

Dystopia 08-06-2007 04:42 PM

I actually haven't been on a plane since I was very young, going to Canada and America, and visiting my relatives in Korea. I remember being very bored, but one of the airplanes had video games built into the back of the seat. It was so awesome.

keokotheshadowfang 08-06-2007 08:26 PM

I love plane rides! But everytime I go I get the seat where the wing is :x ! It's soooo irratating I can't begin to tell you.
I'm going to be going to get jaw surgery and get metal put in it. So me and my step brother are betting that the next time I go through a metal detector I'm going to go off and some big gaurd dude will come and tackle me to the ground.

T 3T That doesn't sound fun.

neur0mancer 08-06-2007 08:55 PM

I bring my trusty MP3 player and a good book. :3
Id love to bring a laptop so I could play some computer game, but I cant afford one. x_x
The longest plane ride I've ever had to endure was 3.5 hours, from Florida to Maine. o_o;

Kris 08-06-2007 09:27 PM

I say just be thankful that you can afford going on trips that involve an airplane! D':

I've never been on a plane before, and I can't see any way I'll be able to in the near future. ^^;

Teeth 08-07-2007 01:42 AM

ive never been on an airplane. what a tragedy. ]:

Otp 08-07-2007 03:20 AM

I've only been on an airplane twice, and it was a looooong time ago, so I don't really remember much of it. xD
I was fairly young so I would say that I looked out the window, colored some stuff in a coloring book, and watched a movie.
I didn't like airport security, they're weird and sort of intimidating. >w>;; But I'm super shy, so...
I'm fairly easily amused, so coloring in a coloring book and watching the clouds would have been good enough for me.

Airll 08-07-2007 04:41 AM

Well, my last plane trip was a loooooong time ago, when I was little child. >.<

The plane attendants were so nice. ♥

And I remember the blankets. xD

I was on the plane because I was coming to America. :D

What do you do during long airplane trips?
I usually watch the crappy movies and try to fall asleep even though I never can. I bring some magazines, books and my mp3 along. I try to read but the dim lights hurts my eyes after a while. Plane rides are extremely boring. My dad is always afraid that we'll be late so we usually go there 3 hours ahead. So already at the airport, I'm dying to just get on the plane but after I am dying to get off it.It is so incredibly dreary. The noise is horrible and the pressure makes my ears all blocked up. I feel like I'm 3000 feet below in the water. I'm scared of planes too now after the 911. I always pray like a month before my trip every night. *please don't let me be on an unlucky ride!*

Usually I fly out to visit my grandparents in China and those rides can last up to 16 hours! Because I have to transfer in between. I get off looking like a pale zombie. But when I get there, I can hardly sleep either because of the jetlag. By the time I get accustomed to their timezone, my short winter break is almost over. And then I have to fly all the way back here. It's worth it though because I rarely get to see them and I miss them a lot. They were the ones who raised me.

What do you do during long airplane trips?
I've only ever been on two airplane trips (well 4 if you count the round trip, I guess >>), but they weren't too bad. They were much better than my recent 27 hours both ways ride on the Greyhound. xD;; Like, much better. Planes don't stop mid-air at 3 or 4 in the morning to make you get off and switch to another plane.
.. or wait, they do. I forgot they have layovers too. xD But still~ D: ;

AIRPORT SECURITY. WTF.

I did my traveling by plane before they'd gotten very crazy. xD; So thankfully I got through okay. After they radiated my disposable cameras. D<
What's more wtf is crossing the border into/out of Canada. If you do it by bus, you have to get out and go through immigration, telling why you're coming, how long you'll be there, how much money you have, all that. If you drive through, at least in our experience, they ask you two or three questions, look at your photo ID, and wave you through. x3x We were expecting much more hassle, had our birth certificates ready and everything and they never even wanted to see them.

What are some things you can do to make the trip more interesting?

I mostly just listened to my mp3 player, played my DS, or sketched, during my recent bus trip. >> For the plane trips, I got stuck beside people who talked to me the whole way and, like, shared their life stories. D: ;

What are some memorable plane rides?

All of mine were just average and nice. >> Other than some ear popping difficulties and air turbulence. One of my bus transfers, though, was the worst possible. D: ;; It was 3 or 4 in the morning and the last guy to get on the bus sat right behind me, where I'd already gotten stuck in the back, near the bathroom. But this guy smelled worse than 10 bathrooms, and I was gasping and dying for a 2 hour ride to the next transfer, just struggling to breathe. T___T ;;; Not a pleasant experience. But the end of the bus ride united me with my lover, so I'd have ridden with a full busload of bums who smelled like rotting hotdogs, to reach her. :3 <3

Well i have only been on one plane trip and it was from michigan to Las vegas..about a 3 hour ride..i didnt think it was that bad..but we decided to take a night flight..i seriously have issues about where i can actually fall asleep..and i cant sleep on car rides and now i know i cant on airplane trips..so it was dark so i couldnt really read well..and ya i was bored to death so i basically tried to sleep while staring out the window..it sucked..except when we saw vega's lights that was kind of cool..

oh and airport security..i was actually one of the lucky ones that had to have a pat down..*rolls eyes* im not the one that looks very dangerous...lol..i found it quite funny.

secretdae007 08-07-2007 08:10 PM

What do you do during long airplane trips?
Considering I've only been on an airplane twice... I listened to my MP3 and did my homework that was due while I was away (school trip!).

AIRPORT SECURITY. WTF.
That didn't really bother me (other than the fact that I couldn't take a bottle of water with me and had to pay the overpriced water in the airport).

What are some things you can do to make the trip more interesting?
I didn't really do anything to make it more interesting. Maybe read a book or something... or play poker with the people around you...

What are some memorable plane rides?
Like I said, I've only been on an airplane twice. It was long and boring and I had to sit next to my little brother... But I got to talk to my friend who sat behind me.

Rhythm 08-07-2007 08:14 PM

Hmmm...my flights always last around 5 hours...but 7-9 hours if it has stops.
What I usually do is just bring puzzles or a book...
But if it's a late night or early morning flight, I'll sleep at least half the time. xD

I always get a window seat though so I preoccupy myself by looking at the view. x]

Sadistix_Love 08-07-2007 08:42 PM

The longest trip for me on the plane was only 3 hours. xD; That time I didn't have my MP3. My mom was thinking about buying an IPod because of the 22 hours trip she's taking next year for new years. I better encourage her. xD For my own selfish needs. =D

Moon 08-07-2007 08:49 PM

Airport security scares me.

But yeah... I went on a trip to Europe and it took 8 hours on the plane.
It freaking was really long, plus it was one of the first times I traveled by plane.
