So... I've been thinking. I may try and start up a breedable/changable shop. Are people interested in that sort of thing? Should I do
  • Adorable Animal
  • Feral/realistic animal
  • Humanoid somethingorother (naga/faerie/etc)

Thoughts and opinions PLEASE! ^^;;;

Drache-Lehre 12-18-2007 05:27 PM

OHH A FUN FUN Opinionare ! I think though.. I'd not really be sure unless I had some refs to work with. Meaning if you already had an idea for each category, had the sketch drawn and then shown I'd be able to be more specific as honestly, I like them all but fine line it comes down to the art if I end up buying/wanting or not.

But knowing me, I'm sure you can guess that I'd likely lean my interest toward feral/real or something kinda humanish since those are fun and easy to RP and still not to, too popular. While the adorable/cute is a bit overrun. T___T

Just my opinion though. xD But I know if ya charge an arm and leg for these too.. be none for me anyways. =P

Lilim 12-18-2007 06:12 PM

I'm mostly going to repeat what DL has already said O_o;

Knowing your style your pets that you wish to draw will be very pretty. And a bit out of my price rang....

But, I do enjoy wishing to own them one day XD
When I wish for a pet I like the more humanish ones but I own the adorable ones cause their in my price rang T_T

Navi 12-18-2007 06:17 PM

Ok - I started sketching today and I think I just made myself decide... heh! It's going to be a fennec fox adoptable. It's slightly "realistic" in body shape, etc., but fennecs are so cute in reality anyway that it helps with that. Haha.

I'm going to have different breeds:
Normal - typical colorings and some fanciful colorations, the most common of the fennecs.
Tribal - earth tones and white/black markings, they may look more feral when I draw them up - we'll see. They are rare.
Fae - pastel and light colors typically with dragonfly/insect type wings. They are rare.
Elemental - just what it sounds like. These will be "epic".
Aerie - Angelic wings. These will be "epic".
Nightmare - Demonic type, probably more feral looking. These will be "epic".

At flatsales they will go for 300g each (hope that's not too high? =[ )

Lilim 12-18-2007 06:21 PM

Wow, good job getting yourself to decide >_< I always find myself flipping a coin then fighting with what the coin picked >.>

300g sounds nice a nice price... Since it sounds like you'll have a lot to pic from. I'm a little unsure about the fox part. But, so many people love foxes so don't listen to me *Giggles*

Navi 12-18-2007 06:22 PM

But they're adorable - look at those ears! XD

Lilim 12-18-2007 07:06 PM

OMG!
I want one T_T

It reminds me of my cat... Well, I have a few cats with big ears, but one has really really big ears

Navi 03-29-2008 03:07 PM

Oh Em Gee --- 2 slots open for about an hour and a half. If they don't fill by then they'll be closed again. =]

Azeriel 03-29-2008 03:30 PM

Oh em gee mine.

*Ninja strike*

Dunno if you're willing to do Gaian avatars though? They're kinda OC like, and I don't have reference pictures yet. >_<;

Navi 03-29-2008 03:31 PM

Gaia avatars, sure why not. =]

Azeriel 03-29-2008 03:53 PM

I sent, you a PM. >_< Hope it's okay without great references and all. <3

Navi 03-29-2008 03:54 PM

Got your PM and I'll put you in the slots now, thanks! ^_^

Azeriel 03-29-2008 03:55 PM

Huzzah, arties! >_< And for once I'm first in line and didn't get beat to it. o_O Amazing, I'm getting better ans sniping artists? D: *Shot*

Question, are your bribe slots closed permanently? Or do you like, open them from time to time to accept bribes then close them again?

Navi 03-29-2008 04:41 PM

Humm... that's a good question. I suppose I could be open for a bribe right now but I can't guarantee how fast it would be completed just cause I've got student teaching stuff that I have to put first. =]

Ascended Anubis 03-29-2008 06:55 PM

*plops about in navi's thread cus he can*
xD

Jitsumi1221 03-29-2008 09:25 PM

ooo fennic foxes *squee* those are so cute! i had a friend in high school that had one as a pet at home because his mom working in rehabilitation facility and this foxy was so young when they found him that they couldnt get him to ACT like a foxy.

ooo 300g sounds nice too, though are these going to be RP required? the foxies and the tribal ones seem almost like they might fit in with your OC's because of the coloring and the fact that all your pictures make it look almost desert~ish.

*rolls* woo. hows your publishing working?

Navi 03-29-2008 10:39 PM

Hi hi Anubis and Jitsumi!

@Jitsu: I'm not doing breedables anymore - that was my idea back in Dec when I thought high school student teaching would be a walk in the park. heh!
Story's going well - I've got my first book all written as far as story goes, now I'm laying it out and writing up the script. It's so exciting to think I have a book's worth of material and I've not even cracked the substance of my story. ^_^

Ise 03-29-2008 10:45 PM

:pops in to chew lightly on Navi and Jitsu: <3

Great to hear things are going well for you, Navi.

And I hope things are going just as well with the newborn, Jitsu <3

Navi 03-29-2008 11:09 PM

Oh that's right, congrats Jitsumi!

*hugs Ise* Good as well as stressful though. Can't wait for April 17th and May 2nd. ^_^

Ise 03-29-2008 11:11 PM

>_>; I can. My final Survey before I graduate is on my birthday in 4 weeks. Commence freaking out.

Navi 03-29-2008 11:12 PM

Heh. Yeah; April 17th starts a 8 day vacation for me and May 2nd is my last day as a college student.

Ise 03-29-2008 11:17 PM

My last day is May 1st. :nod:

Jitsumi1221 03-29-2008 11:47 PM

mmm the baby is lovely right now *nods* shes eatting *grins* she makes the funniest noises while she eats.

and erm... im on a tiny bit of an ego trip right now. some girl my husband had a crush on in HS, well we saw her at church today, and she has a kiddo *puffs out chest* and im in better shape then she is and i just had one 10 days ago *cheshire cat grin* sorry, that amuses me a lot.. cause she had the whole petite red head thing going for her (and my husbands got a thing for petite red heads >.>; and i am most deffinetly a not-petite brunette).

oh! i didnt know you were teaching HSers.. how is that goign for you? i always thought it would be fun to teach HS art because if they wanted to really get into it in college, you are their first real.. erm, whatever you teach them has the possibility to do a real impact?

whoot yay for getting your book stuff all sorted together! sounds like fun!

Ise 03-29-2008 11:55 PM

<3 I'm glad you're enjoying it so much. I think having my brother come around when I was 15 and winding up playing a second mom (and this isn't an exaggeration @[email protected]; I had a few breakdowns from dealing with that and it took a counselor after one in school for all of us to realize it) and then my sister when I was 17 in the middle of my senior year has jaded me massively on the notion of handling little children. oo;

They're 6 and 4 respectively now with me turning 22 April 29 and I'm still somewhere between big sister and mom, even if my parents don't see it that way. I can't see myself as wanting kids for a loooo~ng time, if ever right now oo; I have so little patience and they depend on you completely. Kudos to you <3

And haha xD That's awesome. Gogo Jitsu <3 I'd be chortling under my breath if I were you, too.

o.o; My high school art teachers... I'd say only one really influenced me towards what I do now and I sadly only had him once (my mom and my aunt both had him when they were in high school, though. Mr. Loomis pwns <33). The other two... I swear, things I've learned in the past four years are completely opposite of what they taught oo; It's bizarre but makes me wonder if that's why they're high school art teachers rather than actually being out in the field like an illustrator or a graphic designer or even a fine artist who does shows in galleries. Kinda mean, but I can't help it.. generally we artists all aspire to something, and art is made to be seen. oo;

Navi 03-30-2008 12:32 AM

*nods* I want to be all those things, an illustrator, a "fine" artist, a graphic novelist. Art education is just something that will hopefully pay the bills while I'm trying to find those other things.
