Velve's Art. [A few more added at bottom of first post]
I. See. A. Red. Door. And. I. Want. It. Painted. Black!
All of the following are men and, no offense, but if you have a problem with feminine men, I really don't want to hear a lecture on it, even if it is cliche'. I know, most Bishies are super feminine. Personally, I think they have the right to be, and no, I don't care to make them female. :3 Hope I don't sound rude or anything. Pardon, if I do. I don't really know if it's necessary, but MATURITY WARNING. =P Skimpy clothing and nudity(even if lacking of body parts). Also, drug use and blood. (sometimes I'll just leave out the manbits and such, just as I have never drawn the lower regions of a woman. I'm not very comfortable doing so, and when I do, I usually have some immature child over my should making unnecessary comments that wind up highly aggravating me.) Critique and comments highly welcome. I'm not easily offended or annoyed, so please don't hold back. Of course, criticism is different than simply being rude and immature. I don't think I have to explain myself. n_n The one on top is my most recent, drawn today. The rest are in no particular order. Now that I'm finished with all of that~ ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** For some, you can click to get a bigger picture. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...croix/Hime.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4.../1188757-1.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...ix/1178841.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...ix/1148658.jpg ]|[Note: The angel-thing is not supposed to be very anatomically correct.]|[ http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...1185419226.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4.../1133279_3.png All of the above artwork belong to me, A.K.A Lasore, Lasore Delecroix, Velve, Velvetine Prince. I don't mind if it's used elsewhere, so long as someone else doesn't take credit for it. =P I generally dislike having to put signatures on my work. ALSO, places you might have found Velve(Rainbow Carrot) before: Sheezy Art (LasoreDelecroix) Y!Gallery (Lasore) Paper Demon (Lasore Delecroix; [email protected]) Deviant Art (Velvetine Prince) Gaia(I post my art there from time to time, but rarely) Other: [x] [x] [x] [x] [x] No colors any more; I want them to turn black. |
I think I've seen your work before!
The most familiar is the one with the wing. There's definitely no problem with making feminine males but I suppose the only help I could give you is to work on the face shape cause in the first picture, it's too flat and has little definition of a real head. The second one is fine the way it is but the head is a little too small, unless you wanted it that way. Same goes for the third one. The fourth one, I like because it's different and then the fifth is awesome all-in-all. Then the sixth is beautiful. The position is great, it adds more "flare" to the drawing because it's in a different perspective that you don't see too often instead of it being right in the middle or your typical 3/4 view(even though it's a great position though). I suppose all I have left to say is work a little more on your proportions and the best colored, IMO, out of all of these would be the one with the horn and the wing on the other piece is great aswell because it has a better light to shadow contrast. Just keep at it :3 You're doing really really well! |
I'm on multiple art sites. (DA, Sheezy, PaperDemon, Y!Gallery) If you visit those, it's possible you've seen my work. Probably under the name Velvetine Prince or Lasore.
Yeah, I used to be horrible with how big the head was in proportion to the body. o_o, I still have trouble with it. u_u Yeah... I used to base all of my drawing off of anime instead of real people, so I had a bad start as far as proportion goes. I'm working on it, though, and think I'm improving fairly as time passes. (Not as quickly as I'd like to, but still) n_n Thank you for your critique. <3 |
You have a very cute style. I really like the first one the best. The colors are soft and the pose is nice. I really like the third one as well.
For some reason, the sketchiness of some of your work appeals to me. Like in the last picture. That one is very well done. I always have a hard time with that sort of head angle when drawing, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. You did it very well. What program(s) do you use for your work? |
Thank you. n_n
I use Open Canvas. <3 Open Canvas is the Art Program God. ;D 4.06Plus is the version I use. I don't like the newer one as much. I've tried PhotoShop, but can't stand it. xP I'd rather use paint than PS. Unfortunately, OC isn't compatible with Vista, so all of my drawing has to be done on my father's computer as opposed to my laptop. ;~; |
I especially love the geisha, the goat girl, and the last guy with the long hair.
The colouring on the geisha and the sakura tree -- WAHHH! It's just so perfect. My idea of Japanese culture. I think you captured probably the two main icons of the culture and did a fantastic job representing both. The goat girl is PRECIOUS -- I love the feets and the ears. *Squee* And finally, the last guy is a hawtie. The perspective from which you drew it is a hard one to draw, it looks like, but you've mastered it well. I have nothing else to say except I'm shocked that OC doesn't work with Vista! Vista isn't compatible with lots of things, including my scanner, and that makes me very angry. You've learned the program well, obviously, and know how to use all its features. I suck with OC. Never have been able to learn it. I think it's too simple -- odd that I can grasp Photoshop easily, but not easy ol' OC. Keep up the good work -- BY THE WAY. RAINBOW CARROTS! >www< (Not a RO fanatic, by chance, are you? >D) |
Thank you. n_n
Yes, I love OC. <3 Most prefer PS though... don't know why. xP ;D Yes. Yes, I am. n_n Or rather, I used to be. I haven't played in a while because it doesn't work well with my friends computer and it's no fun without him. Ah, this isn't the place for RO talk. I don't know if anyone cares, but I don't want to get into trouble. Feel free to PM me, though. n_n |

Well first of all, you're doing really good! :3 And I don't think it matters that you started off with anime instead. I think that's better because you get the basic structure down which you're doing really well. I can't really draw guys cause they're not curvy enough XD |

very nice arts and coool name ^_^

@AF Romance: n_n
Don't feel bad. I used to be horrible with men. I can draw more masculine men, but not much more than a sexually-distinctive lean build. Muscles are so hard for me. The curves of women do seem to be a lot easier to draw. o_o I always thought women had the more curvy, detailed bodies, but men are a pain to draw. I used to draw only women, so at one point I was fairly skilled with female bodies(in my opinion at least). I have a picture of one of the last females I drew, from about a year and a half ago. http://www.paperdemon.com/art/view/4775 @Glammy: :Flails: ;D That makes me so excited. Knowing that my art is worth recognizing makes me so happy. <3 Almost brings tears to my eyes. One person I thought was just a coincidence, but this just makes Velve's month! :squeaks: <3<3 I think the art site I spend the most time on is Sheezy Art. Y!Gallery is another I spend a lot of time on. @Caeluma: <3 Thank you. ;D |

>w< :snug:
You flatter me. Yes, Y! has some very spiffy artists. I love Anoki's art. >.< |
I really like your style of art, it's beautiful. I don't care if they are guys or girls they are beautiful. Keep up the good work and I would love to see more of it sometime.

Ooo, I like the new arts!
The first one is verah cute, I love the use of your coloring but I hadn't noticed the glasses until I really concentrated on the detail. I'm not sure if you wanted them to be discreet but if you didn't, you should make the glasses more 3D than just drawn on the face, otherwise it's fine the way it is. The collarbones are just a little off center but all of us do that :b I LOVE the second one XD Mainly due to the clever censoring. It's just too funny and it's clever too! I'd say his right eye is abit too high up though and you should start working on detail around the chest area like the shape of the rib cage, if they have abs/pecks, and work on the where the leg and hip join to make it seem that the leg is actually bent(if it's supposed to be) The third one is great perspective, it's different so it makes it more interesting. Aside from the anatomy, I'd say work more on the folds of the clothing. Focus on the pull and tug of the cloth and don't randomly place folds everywhere. Think about where gravity's pushing it to or where it tightens when you take a step forward, etc. If you have to, look at people and look at what their wearing. There's a common tug and pull around the waist and under arm and where the leg bends in the front of the pants. Hard to say about the fourth one. I like the idea but I think you could push yourself on this with more work. The background is really busy and though I like busy backgrounds, there has to be a certain balance. I see the balance in colors but I don't think the stars balance out too well cause there are so many of them and are very defined. The fifth one's cute :3 The look on his face is so serene and the baby's cute too. You did really well anatomically! I'd say the only thing missing is his collarbone. I really enjoyed looking through all your pieces and I can't wait to see more! :D |
I like your CGing style and i especially like the guy with the loin clothe its a fantastic pose to. X3
