I closed my eyes and wait. I listen and heard the world. Around me people talk and chatter. Around me I hear children's laughter.

Bus clangs as it rolls by. Cars zoom passing by. Music blasted from nearby radios. Soup pour from the worker's ladle.

Smells of different food flood my nose. Fresh bread from the bakery, hot dogs from the stands.

Everything has a certain beat, everything has a certain sound and smell.

I open my eyes again. The sound dim, the smells fade as my eyes become the main sense again. Funny what you can hear and smell when you just take the time to close your eyes and wait.

It's a little... unnerving seeing so many people reading my stuff now.

Beyond

To the brink of insanity
Follies become reality

Fingers flew across the black and white keys. Note echoed through out the room, sad sounding. Eyes were closed, completely focus, listening to each note ring in harmony together.

It painted a whole new world.

Absolute focus, nothing could break the moment. Not even the soft creaking of the knob as the door open and a head peeked inside, curious at the beautiful sound that echo through the supposedly empty building. She found a beauitful and rare gift.

At the grand piano a young boy played. His mind focus on only the notes. In his own world, he played away at the grand piano. His emotions channeling through each note, creating such a sad and painful melody that painted a beautiful picture.

It took her breath away.

Finally he stopped. His song coming to an end as he noticed another person in the room. Silence feel over the room, awkward and uncomfortable. Words couldn't even begin to form. What felt like eternity, they stared at each other, unmoving.

"Who are you?" he asked.

And with those very words, the doors to many relationships opened.

Syn ran as fast as she could around the corner. She was going to be late! "Not again," she screamed at herself. "I'm LATE! DAMNIT! Why didn't my alarm cloak go off sooner!"

Today of all days was not a day to be late. Today of all days was the first day of her job and failing to show up on time was NOT a good way to impress your boss.

Within a few minutes, she saw the building ahead. "Omph!" Her rush however caused her to miscalculate and she went flying into a man. "Ah!" she screamed again. She got up and stormed away. "Move! I'm late!"

"Ms. Syn, you're late," the assistant said curtly as she stumbled into the door. "But that's okay, Mr. Pan is right behind you."

Syn cursed her luck, turning around. It was the man she ran into just a few minutes ago. There was no way this could be happening!!

Breathless, I chased after him. That shadow that always appeared before me. It was just there, right beyond my reach. But no matter how hard I ran, or how hard I tried, I could never catch up.

I slow down, and come to a stop, the shadow continues on forward. I reach out and try to grasp, my voice failing.

Darkness I welcome with open arms. Soon I'll wake up again, far away from this place. Soon I'll sleep again, and see the shadow once more. And again I'll chase after him, that shadow, that dream once more.

"Take off the collar."

"What?! Why am I gonna do that?"

Kit stared in him the eye. "Veer... your father is fighting for his life out there against a group of bad guys that he can't possibly defeat. Take off my damn collar."

Stupid cold.
Stupid rain.

I swear when I left the house this morning, it was a bright as a yellow bumblebee. So why is, five minutes later four blocks away from my house, it has started to rain?

And of course it happens to rain on the day where I don't have time to spare. I have work in less then an half an hour and there's no time to go back and grab an umbrella or a change of clothes. Work of course is in an air condition room thus I'll freeze to death at work, or at the very least get very very very sick.

Stupid cold.
Stupid rain.

Hopefully some pitiful god (be God, Kami-sama, or Buddah or whatever), will take pity and stop these raindrops from falling from heaven.

Great... now there's thunder. I glared up at the sky. 'Thanks guys' I thought to myself sarcastically.

I better push onwards to work. I don't want my boss to fire me. ... Maybe he'll take pity on me and send me home for the day or cut me a break and let me dry off and get something warm to eat.

With track record of the day, somehow I highly doubt that that is gonna happen. I muttered to myself and continue to walk. Stupid cold. Stupid rain.

"FOOOOODDDDDDDDD!!"

Syne flinched as she heard the storm of feet and clatter of bowls dropping ring though the house. The flinch turn into the twitch as she thought about all her fancy expensive plates (luckily not the fine china though) on the table.

That idiot better have not broken a single one.

"THIS IS THE BEST MEAL EVER SYNE!" Matt shouted at her.

Syne shook her head and let out a sigh. Boys... always thinking with their stomach.

I Saw You Down the Street

I sat down at my computer feeling a little strange. You know those oddly cliché, yet totally addicting romance movies where the guy and girl always end up together and you can only go awww in exchange? Yeah it’s that kind of warm fuzzy feeling. Nice yet sad in an ironic way.

When I sat down at my computer today, I stopped to think about my supposed romance. Never really had a puppy love crush. Never had a boyfriend in high school like most of my friends. It was just something I never gave thought to. Who would have thought that something that old movie sappy movie would be the thing to make me review my love life.

So I suppose that is what lead me to here. Fresh out of college yet no real sense of direction in my life as to where I want to go or what I want to do. I always dreamed of writing that one big bestseller novel, but each story never took off. But as good friend has always told me, inspiration is like a leaf on the wind it comes and goes. What I didn’t know was that somewhere, my sad pathetic love life was going to take a drastic change.

Cause that day… I saw you down the street.
