Crap, really? you too? What a coincidence!
So, I just finished a rather odd conversation.
I like going into chatrooms and, well, chatting. I started talking to this one guy, about a year younger, said he used to live in <city>. I live there, right now. He says he went to <school> for 7th and 8th grade, so did I. xD We started talking about teachers and junk, then he says he found his old yearbook. I give him my name, and sure enough, there i am, in the 8th grade section of his 7th grade yearbook. He described my picture cause I couldnt remember what my 8th grade yearbook picture looked like. He was dead on. xD Something like this happened earlier, too... I was talking to someone, said they live in the same city I do, turns out he was dating one of my friends at the time. Then, it got weirder. We got talking more, and found out we both used to live in Portland Maine. And went to the same school for a year. I knew his sister! xD So, GD, has anything like this happened to you? :3 |

I've never spoken to somebody via chatrooms and things like that, who lived, live, attended my school or even know where i am in the world. Most people have never herd of my hometown or next nearest town.
(i ues that because it's a little more notable than my actual hometown.) So, no, nothing like this happens to me. |
I can't say that that has happened to me in a chatroom but IRL when I moved to Seattle in 1997 I ended up becoming friends with three people that had also moved up there from here. We started talking and it turned out that we all used to hang out in the same places and knew the same people but had never hung out together.
It was odd. We all still keep in touch even though none of us is up there anymore. |
No, can't say that has ever happened to me. And I stopped going into chat rooms awhile ago, those places scare me.

Met someone who went to a school that's just 10minutes away from mine. On Gaia... it was so random.

I'd say the only thing remotely close to that have happened to me was. . . I met this girl on Neopets, and she happened to live in the same city. o_o We ended up becoming best friends for a few years, but eventually we grew apart. She also ended up moving elsewhere, as did I.

Such things is impossible to happen near me...
first, I go online to meet people out of the country, and my country is not English country, so...my friends don't come online as often as I did also... No, this kind of thing won't happen to me. haha~ |

Every great once in a while I'll find out that someone online who I've talked to on a forum or other site is from around the same area as I am, but it doesn't happen very much at all.
There was one time, actually, where someone I talked to often for possibly a year or more was actually from the same town I live in, and she knows a couple of my close friends. We never bothered to ask where each other lived or whatever, though, because we mostly just talked to each other about Jrock, and that's pretty much it, so it came as quite a shock. It's not very often that I can find other people who like Jrock in the city I live in, so I was really excited about that. I suppose we just never asked each other where we lived, and when I said Indiana, and she said that too... and then when we completely narrowed it down to this city, it was just really strange. xD I also have another friend who I talked to for quite a long time, of whom I met on DeviantART, and we found out that she just lives in the city over from me. It's actually only a ten minute drive, if that much. :o Things can surprise people sometimes. xD We hang out often now~. |
Nah..I never even stayed in one school long enough to get to really know anyone. I still go around high school saying, "Who's that? I've never seen you!" XD

O__O No I have never had that happened to me. I guess not a lot of people in Canada go on Gaia or Menewsha. XD Cause I don't chat anywhere else. :<

Someone posted here about a trip to LBI in NJ. I'm from right near there. It just made me go "Hey, a sane tourist!" though, since we have a lot of idiots running through my town.

Something like that happened to me, but only once.
(on gaia) I joined a random guild and hung out there a bit, and went to comment on my friend's (irl friend) profile. After a bit I wemt back to her prof and saw a dude from the guild had commented there saying hi to her, and noting that I had commented several times on her profile and he knew me from the guild. She was all 'woah no way!' and said that she knew the guy in real life, and they were both in a club together. XD I thought it was weird at first, then I just laughed and was like "Okay, then..." But stuff like that rarely happens. |
Nope, I tend to avoid chat rooms though because I get weirdo starting to talk to me most the time. Plus I don't know enough people to meet someone like that.

Well when my parrents were not divorced yet they went out with this couple,
and later we discovered I was in the same class once as one of the sons of that couple. Or at Ragnarok Online once. I met a guy on character A, and he was on character A, both our maincharacters. Later I was sitting around on character B, he on A, he came to me and asked for a party, I explained who I was, haha fun XD Later, we were both on whole diferent characters that we have never seen before from eachother, and we meet again. I asked what his other characters were and I said Omg I'm (character name) So we met eachother over 3 times in less than a week. So funny ^^ |
