Do I really need that....

Today I went to the mall with a couple of friends because APPARENTLY their clothes-less >.>
So we hop in a taxi, and the rest is s blur.

I came home about an hour ago and I'm looking at the stuff I bought. I thought to myself, 'do i really need all that?"

So GD heres my question: Have you ever bought something you didn't need?

All the damned time. x_x
I go to the mall and sometimes come back with the most random items. D:
Then I hate myself because Im trying to save for a new processor, and possibly a new motherboard. @[email protected]

Chexala 08-05-2007 08:55 PM

Oh yeah.

I know my shopping weaknesses at least, like for stationary and writing supplies, so I limit how often I go to certain stores. I try to never go into stores unless I'm going for something I actually need. There is a really awesome sock store in town though, and they are my financial death. I'm not allowed in there anymore.

I'm really glad that there isn't a mall where I live, and that I hate them anyway.

Caeluma 08-05-2007 08:56 PM

All the time lol and buy stuff you want in the store but when you gt home you don't want it any more!

IshokuOsero 08-05-2007 09:00 PM

I used to buy things I don't need all the time, but now that I'm saving up my money to move into my own apartment, I haven't been spending as much. I've noticed I'll spend something if my boyfriend and I are going out mini-golfing or something, but if it's just something for myself I don't spend the money anymore.

Knerd 08-05-2007 09:01 PM

I'm too cheap to buy stuff that I don't desperately need. I'll make a list before I go out to the store, and never once stray from it. Even here on Menewsha, I'm saving up all my gold so that I can buy my quest items all on one go, instead of little-by-little. It cuts down on impulse buys. =)

Elwing 08-05-2007 09:18 PM

Well I might have bought something that I did not need in the past,
but I am a bit poor so I always think twice if I need something,
and always check my money, always the the price of the item twice.
I have dyscalculation, which means I have trouble with numbers, can't
calculate, can't read digital time very fast and have trouble with money.
So I always have to check very well if I have the money for it, it takes
a few minutes to figure out how many money I have in my wallet/pocket,
kinda annoying. xP

I'm actually the person who sits there and refuses to buy anything because I know I don't need it. Last night, my boyfriend and I were waiting to go to a show on the Strip, so we stopped by the mall... I wound up buying a jacket thing to wear over my dress, since I knew I'd be freezing in the show (I'm always cold)... and I think that was the first thing I've bought in ages. Even when my Mom takes me out shopping, she has to convince me to buy things, since I sit there muttering that I don't really need anything... I don't know what kind of clothes I'll need for college, yet. I can't shop for my dorm room until I get up there to see it. And I don't need anything for the next two weeks.... so I don't want to waste money. xD

Meirles 08-05-2007 09:58 PM

My mom and I share that problem... we go to Wal-Mart or something just to get one little thing and we come back with bags and bags of things that we might need sometime in the near future, maybe. xD

When I'm about to leave to go shopping, my dad always says, "Now if you see something you like, you get it! I don't care how much it costs, if you want it- buy it!" and I'm like "DAD! o_o What if I really was a shop-a-holic!" Luckily I'm more frugal than that, or my dad would be in trouble.

keokotheshadowfang 08-05-2007 10:26 PM

All the time xD most of the times I think that it looks pretty so I can't help but get it. After word I think "Dang it I could have used that money for other things.

I'm a Leo I can't hold onto money very well, it burns holes in my pocket's xD.

I always make the mistake of going grocery shopping when I'm hungry. Really hungry. I'll end up throwing random boxes and bags of food and such that I think looks good into the cart. It's not until I get home and start putting everything away that I realize, what the hell did I BUY? Most of it I shouldn't be eating in the first place. D:

Yeah. I used to do it so often, but I catch myself in the act nowadays.

I have this thing for body washes and soaps. I will buy something that smells really great and NOT use it. Why? Because it's "too good to use". I've been getting myself out of that stupid habit, though, and I'll use things as I buy them.

So, I used to be really obsessive about buying anything that smelled good. I only buy what I need now, like when my shampoo's out. :B

I used to buy a lot of candles because they smelled good or looked nice. I had to get out of that also, because I'm running out of space to put them and I hardly ever burn anything, no matter how good it smells. Dx

Mama Juru 08-06-2007 02:50 AM

I love shopping so any time I go to a store I buy stuff I don't need, generally clothes. Like some of the others have mentioned I also overbuy things like body washes and candles because they smell great but then I run out of places to put them.

DirtWad 08-06-2007 02:59 AM

I always buy gum,and I don't need it,I just want it!
O-o

Arcangelo Gabriele 08-06-2007 06:17 AM

Novelty carnival items of an expensive and breakable nature...

blazing_angel47 08-06-2007 06:22 AM

Oh god yes... I bought this shirt when I went to the store with my friends, and I haven't touched it since I got it out of the dryer... and that was like in April... most of the time, I buy stuff I really want, but don't need. It's just stuff I can use to pass time... or candy...

Dystopia 08-06-2007 06:28 AM

My parents dont' really let me spend my own money, so not really. But on the internet, I guess I do. I'm an impulse buyer when it comes to Marapoints or Gold. You can't trust me to save up for too long. xD

DirtWad 08-06-2007 07:29 AM

Oh clothing,Yeah.
I always go to the store and I try it on and like it,then after I get it home,I wash it and put it in my closet and thats where it stays!

Marguerite Blakeney 08-06-2007 07:32 AM

  • I always buy things I don't need ^^;; I'm a shopaholic. Although I can't really elaborate on it right now...heh.

x_x Heart attack sandwiches. Four layers of bacon, 2 layers of all beef, greasy fatty patties, one layer of egg, and two layers of cheese. Definitely something I DON'T need, with ym heart problems and all.

I did it with candles, too. Candles and bath/body products. I'm totally out of the candle obsession now though. I usually just buy one thing of oil for the warmer once in a while. XD

Come to think of it, I haven't bought a body product in several months (other than the ones we all do). o.o; I think it's because when I started paying my own rent and other bills, I saw how quickly money disappeared. It seems any of my spare cash goes to gas or food. e_e;

*shakes fist*

akanekun 08-06-2007 07:56 PM

Less now than before. It's gotten to the point where I'm so tired of bringing stuff in and sending it out either through selling, trashing or donating that I only get things I've looked over about five times before buying it. Especially if it'll take up any amount of significant space. That and because I'm graduating from college I'm hellbent on getting rid of everything I can so I can move out (been commuting and living at home to save money) without too much of a headache.

life in red and black 08-06-2007 10:31 PM

Yes, and then I feel guilty, because many people in the world would LOVE to have my excess stuff.

Sadistix_Love 08-06-2007 10:39 PM

Lol, the only thing I ever buy is manga. And pretty much I don't need them but it's a hobby collecting the. xD; Clothes? I've never bought a single one in my whole life. *^* Except this cute hat for 10 bucks but that is it. xD
