"Your face might stick that way." His eyes got wide and he ducked a hand to his belt. "No dodgeballs, I'll tell you everything!!" He smiled and looked to the sky, then brought his head back down. "Honestly.....I think it was because you hated me in the beginning, you were so cute when you were mad, I just couldn't leave you alone and forget how that looked." He bit his tounge and blushed. ::I brought my tongue back in my mouth, slipping it from his fingers grasp; he tasted like cinnamon.
I laugh manically "So, you liked my heel hitting your 'soft spot' better?" I almost dropped altitude laughing so hard. I puffed out my cheeks and pouted "Thats it? His jaw dropped.
"YOU WOULDN'T!?" He placed both hands as a guard then, his face pale. He gained his color back and nodded. "You were cute, I couldn't help mysel--" His face turned red as Risa took his hand. He tapped his fingers along her spine as he would a table and chewed on his lip. "Yes...." He said. "But I'm not going to complain." I removed my hand from his on my chest and let him decide what he wanted to do next. His finger tapping my spine made me want to look back at him, but I was to embarrassed to look at him, and I'm sure he was to embarrassed to look me me. I flew on, getting closer to Tokyo Tower. Kane let out a sigh of relief and slid his hand back to grip his shirt just over his heart.
"That's good to know. I'd like to keep them intact even if I never get to use them." He smiled and gripped her waist again, sure that once the Tower came close enough, she would either land, or make a dive. |
::I look back at him Blushing "hey, thats not fair.... Dont make me feel bad about not wanting to have children..." I sighed deeply, shifting his weight around.
"Alright, hold on tight, I'm going to land in the park..." I take a hold of his backside again and blush, looking over at him "Im sorry If I made you feel uncomfortable...I feel more on my back than you think and I thought it was only fair..." I laughed and lost altitude slowly; I didnt want to land too swiftly, in case he fell off. I land in the park in a crowd of bushes and kneel down on one knee for him to climb off, i release my tight grip on his backside "Whew, not that bad of a landing, eh?" He grinned back at her.
"Don't worry about it, told you that doesn't matter." He chuckled. "Hey, I don't mind at all." His face was red, but he seemed to be enjoying himself. In the park he hopped off even before she took her knee, ready to get everything over with and get back to Juri...speaking of which, his phone rang loudly and her jerked it out to answer in case anyone heard. "What?" He hissed quietly. "YOU JERK WHERE ARE YOU AND RISA!!" Kane sighed. "Juri, don't worry about us we had some things to take care of and we'll try to be back before tomorrow." That seemed to satisfy her for the time and she warned them to be back or she'd have to come hunting for them. He snapped the phone shut with an apologetic look to Risa and then took her hand. ::I frowned, standing up and adjusting myself, I pulled his shirt off him and slipped it on and Blushed "Sorry, I forgot to bring a shirt... You look better without one anyway.." I wink at him "If you like, we can stop at your house... My wings are sicking out, hopefully no one will see. I should have really planned ahead...and I think you should stay there until I figure things out with my mom, I think she'd kill me if I just brought a half-naked guy home.." I smiled at him apologetically. "Ill come and get you, or call you when I feel its right for you to come meet her."
I sigh "Well, it obviously matters to you if you keep making me feel bad... Ill find a way to get them to good use." I grinned at him and ran my index finger under his chin and said in a high-pitched voice "Just kidding..":: |
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forhead.
"Here." He took out a pen that he found in his pockets and wrote down his cell phone number. "You can always reach me there, no matter the time." He waved and headed off. "I'll run back to our house and grab a shirt, you can keep that one if you like, but I tell you now, I'm not staying there, when I'm dressed I'm heading over to your place, just wait for me there!" He made a small pouty face and then winked. "We'll see." With a smile and a wave he ducked into the treeline and began racing back to his home. |
::I closed my eyes as he kissed my head. I touch his cheek as he pulled away and I smiled at him. I took the paper and stuffed it in my back pocket.
I crossed my arms, he never listened to me.. I blushed at what he said as he headed off and I laughed and headed out of the bushes and took the back alleys to my house. My home seemed empty; the curtains were shut and I slipped inside. My mother was talking with a tall dark man in a white coat and he looked at me "Oh well here we are now. Risa, This is Professor Aeki. He wants to help you, and I think its a good idea." I walked in; I wasn't wearing shoes and I sat down on the couch beside my mother "Mom...can I talk to you for a minute?" She nodded and stood up and bowed to him "Please excuse us." He sipped his tea and nodded:: |
Kane raced home as fast as he could, climbing up the tree near his window, glad that they hadn't shut it before they left. He made the leap into his room, feeling that there was no time to go through the door, and he threw on the first shirt that he found, a black tank, then he grabbed up his dogtags that his father had given him and ran back down the stairs, not wanting to show up at Risa's place with leaves stuck in his hair...although there probably already were. He raced out of his yard and slammed the gate behind him.

::The mysterious man watched closely as I pulled my mother aside "Why would you make a decision like this without me mom?" I begged, grabbing her arm. My mother just smiled "He said he could surgically remove your wings for you... I already told him yes, and I packed your things. You'll bee going to his mansion in about an hour so go get ready. Get a bath, you smell like mildew..." she scrunched her nose.
I growled at her "MOM! I don't want them removed, I want to stay the way I am, I found someone-" before I finished he came up to me and smiled, putting a hand on my shoulder "Risa dear, it's for the best. May I see what I'm working with??" I look at him apologetically and then look back to my mother frantically. Mom nodded, and I pulled off my shirt reluctantly, revealing my bathing suit top and my wings. I blushed. He turned me around and touched my back, at the base of my wings "More magnificent than I could ever imagine... this will be quite a task..." He stroked my wings roughly. I began to second think this task. Maybe Kane would like me better if I were normal... we couldnt still have children, it was still in my DNA but we could be together...normally.:: |
Kane had made it to Risa's house a few minutes later, he was smiling and breathing heavily as he walked to the door, which he found strangly cracked. He looked back to the curb and his stomach fell as he saw for the first time the black car that graced the street.
"This is bad." He muttered leaning his ear to the door. Kane heard it all. He slammed his fist against the door and stomped inside. "Get your hands off Risa." He growled, his eyes steely and dark. "You're not taking her anywhere." |
::i looked over at him bursting in the door, and sighed deeply "Kane.. Prof. Aeki wants to help me Kane... I think im going to go with him..." I smiled at him apologetically.
My mother walked up to Kane and slapped him in the face "How DARE you burst into my house and say otherwise! Leave now, or i'll call the police." The professor just grinned. "This is her opportunity to be normal, isnt that what you want for her? To be happy the way she looks?" he smiled and put his arm around me. I looked to Kane, tears in my eyes "Professor, can Kane come with?" He shook his head "its my private quarters...youre lucky to be coming...":: |
"Ris--" He was caught off guard by the slap, but his head only turned to the side.
"You..." He turned his dark gaze to her mother and swiped the blood from his lip. "You think this is normal? You want to HACK her to bits! 'Surgically remove' bah! That's bull." He looked to Risa, his gaze saddened and worried. "Risa....Little Bird, you promised...." His shoulders fell and he jerked his tags over his head. "I'm happy with how she is..isn't that enough? For the both of you?" |
::"MOTHER! DONT TOUCH HIM!" I pulled from the Professors grip and ran to Kane, cradling his head in my arms. "Kane... I thought this is what you'd want.." I whispered to him.
The professor smiled "come now Risa, we should leave now..." he picked up my bags and pulled me away from him. "Its for the best dear, he'll take really great care of you, He promised me. Youre not goig n to give up your future for a orphaned reject him him.." she frowned at him. "Risa, you know we planned for this all your life... if we could find a way, we would make you normal..":: |
Kane's eyes turned to Risa's and they seemed to plead with her. His stomach turned to bile as her mother reminded him that he was an Orphan....just....just like Risa.
"Risa...I just want you to be yourself...no matter what. Who's to say that you're not normal and we're the freaks? Who decided that your future was planned?" His hands were clenched, and though he'd made a vow never to hit women, he did the next best thing. He rammed his fist into the 'professor's' jawline. "Let. Go. Of. Her." He warned. |
::The professor fell to the floor, taking me with him. "Kane!" I shouted at him "Please...I think this is what I want...Mother, can't I just have a few minutes alone with him to say good bye??" I was crying now; i loved him so much yet I wanted this so badly, for him, so I could be normal for him. I staggered to my feet, my exhaustion getting to me.
She rolled her eyes "Very well, Ill help the professor with your things, you have 10 minutes.." The professor stood up, cracking his jaw "Quite a punch you have, young boy, but you better watch your place in this world.." he glared at him with cold eyes and gathered Risa's things and headed out to the car with my my mother. I stood before Kane, In my bathing suit top and touched his face "Kane...I want to do this... for you... I want you to not be embarrassed of me.. don't you want me to be happy? to be normal for you?" A tear rolled down my cheek as I looked deep into his eyes.:: |
Kane's gaze followed the professor as he stood.
"I know my place psycho, the question is do you know yours?" As they left, Kane enveloped Risa in his arms. "Risa....I'm never embarassed for you....I don't care if you're normal or not, but think about this! You've lived your entire life with your gifts....and your curse....I just want you to be happy and not regret your choices." He squeezed her to him and lay his head on hers. "No matter where you go, no matter what you do...know that I'm always waiting." He looked into her face and then turned away, afraid that if he held on much longer that he was going to go mad. |
::I smile at him ?"i dont think ill regret it... i'm a monster....I just want to be normal..." i closed my eyes. "Ill call you every day..." I hugged him back, wrapping my wings around him tightly. I pulled out one of my rather large feathers and gave it to him.
The Professor came back in and took my arm, wrapping a blanket around me and my wings, "C'mon, my driver is waiting.." he groaned. I cried and looked back at Kane "I love you... please dont forget that... Ill call you.." My mother smiled "Be brave Risa, Ill see you in a couple of weeks!" she waved as I got in the car. I looked out the window at him, and the Professor rolled up the window. I motioned with my mouth "I love you" to him and blew him a kiss and the car finally drove off.:: [i g2g, i have some classwork to do, ill see u on tonight.] |

Kane's lip quivered..he held back as best he could, but he had a feeling...that if Risa got in that car..he would never see her again. He cradled the feather in his palm and twisted it back and forth, looking at it's sheen. "You're no monster Risa.." He muttered. "I am...for letting you go." He shot a warning glance at the professor, as if to say: There's more where that came from. He waved to her as she walked out the door and then ran to the car window as it was rolled up into his face. "You'd better call me!" He cried. "I love you too." Kane's hand brushed the glass as the car pulled away, his heart crying out to stop them. With a heart wrenching cry, he raced off into the city, the opposite way Risa had went. |
::I turned in my seat and watched him run. I cried... I thought it was appropriate. The professor put his arm around me and stroked my wing "No worries my dear, Ill take good care of you.." he grinned.
Upon arriving at his mansion 2 hours later, the huge towering gates and long road to his home seemed ominous... It began to rain. I sighed deeply and looked at the tick brush surrounding his home. He smiled at the car pulled up "Were home my dear.." he kissed my hand and i frowned; I wanted Kane with me, something didn't seem right. His guard dogs flew to the end of their collars until they choked themselves. Drooling and spitting at us, I was frightened of them, terribly. He opened his door and flew to my door and opened it for me. He smiled "Come on my dear, ill show you to your room.." Getting out, he stabbed my buttocks with a needle through my jean shorts and I looked to him, my vision blurry and fading. "Kane..." My blurred vision came at a standstill of shrouded darkness and I was out cold.:: [hows THAT for a cliffhanger XDXDXDX] |

It had begun to rain...Kane slipped on the wet concrete once or twice and fell to his face, his tears mixing with the rain. The second time he fell he struggled to his knees and sat there, the rain pelting his back and drenching his face and hair. He couldn't place it, but there was a sense of grief..that he couldn't will away. "DAMNIT!!" He pounded the street before him and jerked his head up. He had to talk to her mother once more...make her come to her senses. Minutes later, Kane rounded the corner that led to Risa's home. He knocked on the door, soaking wet, looking more like a drowned cat than a teenage boy. |
::She peeked out the window and frowned, and yelled though, locking the door "what do you want?" Misty was in the window and she greeted him, mewing.::

"Who was that psycho that you so happily sent Risa off with?" He called through the rain his voice sardonic and nervous..he was worried. Kane, waved to Misty, glad to at least see one friendly face, even if it was feline.
