I HAVE CONQUERED THINE WRETCHED SPIDER!
Last weeks I had a little run-in with a larger-than-normal house spider. I walked into my room, looked at the wall behind my computer, saw a large black spider, turned on the light, and the spider jumped off the wall and behind my desk. I then got a flashlight and looked behind the desk, only to find nothing. I moved the desk out from the wall a bit, moved some things around (With a broom. I hate spiders), and still didn't find anything. "Out of sight, out of mind," I thought.
The night after, I was using my computer. Then, out of nowhere, the large spider walked up to the top of my computer monitor from behind it, looked at me (Which made me go "wtf!", because the spider was only a few inches from my face), then turned and ran back down my monitor. I got up, turned on the light, and looked at the side of the monitor where the spider was. Then I turned to find a cup or something to trap it in, and when I couldn't find anything, I turned back only to find that he was gone again! "How can a spider so large hide like this?" I thought. I didn't go back in my room for a few days. I slept on the couch (May longer than I planned. Turns out my couch is very comfortable, and sleeping out there was better than sleeping in my room, so I stayed a few extra days). Then, when I was using a different computer, one with a flat-screen monitor, I saw a spider crawl over the top of the monitor. I got up and looked at the back, where it had ran, and it crawled into a little vent hole that was on the back. I got a cup, and when it came back out of one of the holes (which was extremely disgusting, I might add), I trapped it. Then I got to thinking "What if that large spider is living inside my large monitor?" I HAVE COMPUTER SPIDERS. :[ Eww, my monitor has bugs. I hate spiders. I'm not afraid of them or anything, I just hate them. Like a spider nazi or something. What is it about monitors that attracts spiders? I live in a forested part of Maine, so there's plenty of spiders to go around, but just think.. there could be spiders in your computer right now. Edit: I have conquered the spider! It revealed itself to me and crawled up my wall. I put a cup on it, then, after several nerve-wracking minutes, placed a cd under the cup and carried out to a table where it will starve to death. Discuss: Spiders in computers! Gross spider stories (I have a bunch) Whatever else you can pull out of this story. |
Eww. Good thing I have a laptop and spiders can't realy fit in unless they're midgety. xDD
But woww, did you exterminate your monitor? xD |
I am seriously disturbed. D: I hate spiders they are so freaky. I am glad I haven't seen one in my room lately. I can ignore them if they are in the bathroom by avoiding the area for a while but I cant stand them being in a room I inhabit alot, like my bedroom. I would have also slept on the couch if I couldn't find it. *shudders* All nasty spider stories have been repressed into my subconscious. :) I have no plans to recall them.
|
@Aero: I'd throw my computer out the window if I didn't need it D:
But it's been days, and.. out of sight, out of mind. |
Haha, well the threads going to stay here and it's going to haunt you forever. :D xDD
|
Things tend to get exaggerated over time if you haven't seen the object of exaggeration in a while. In my mind I remember seeing a demonic hellspider with thorns protruding from its back and legs, and red eyes with green poison dripping from its mandibles. D:
|
Spiders? I am not fond of spiders either. but one of my friend(who is a girl), love spider and would want one as a pet! I was very shock when I heard her sayinig so!
By the way, spider in monitor, creates world wide 'web' deosn't it? |
Crawling out of your monitor, oh yeah, hell is in your monitor. xDD
|
@xuvrette: It also means there's bugs in my computer :[
@Aero: :O How did I not think of this!? Spiders crawling out of the monitor.. the only explanation is that the gates of hell exist beyond the pane of glass infront of me. Hold on while I che- ............................................ |
xDD
Okay, hope you have fun! 8D xD |
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW. xD;; I'm sorry, I'm just so grossed out that that would happen to you! ^^;;; I would be so disturbed if my computer had spiders. DDD: I hope they disappear! FOREVVEEERRRR! ( enjoy your trip through the pane of glass! I would ask for a souvenir, but... ) |
Well I'm back from hell. It was actually pretty nice. You know all those images you see about hell? The ones with the flames and brimstone? Yeah, turns out that was only the boiler room. Who would have thought!
Anyway, I brought back head leeches. They suck out your good thoughts and inject horrible nightmares :] Anyone want one? Oh, you wanted a souvenir, tentenpuff? Here you go :D *Puts one on tenten's head* |
You'd be surprised where spiders can live. I used to live in an old house with a bunch of them, and I found the little guys all over. Some were in my shoes, some were in the couch, some were in long forgotten coffee cups, and there was even one in the fridge. The point is-Spiders are everywhere. :)
|
I once read an article that said that you're never more than three feet away from a spider at any given time D:
|
That’s kind of gross. As long as I don’t see the spider I’m fine with it living in the same room as I am. I leave the smaller ones alone, but I am afraid of those big hairy ones with the big butts. I love tarantulas though, but I think that’s mostly because they can be controlled more than the wild spiders that you find crawling around everywhere.
That’s why I don’t really like spiders too much, they hide everywhere. Same with mice…that and there’s mouse poop in most food people eat, but that’s a whole other story. |
Ooh, thanks! Cool head leech-- OHMYGOD. NOOO. SPIDERS WITHIN THREE FEEET... |
@tenten: x3 Ahahaha. I wonder how many people got that :]
|
You're freaking me out now... I am so petrified of large spiders. I don't mind at all little baby ones but when they get bigger than a fingernail, I start trembling! I have an old computer of at least 7 years I think so the tought of an old ancient spider living in it or of dozens of dead spiders in is not appealing. Just think if you have an old computer, it could be a spider's tomb or something! :O Did you get rid of the ginormous one?
|
Nope. The large spider still takes residence in my room, probably.
Oh, and you probably don't want to know this.. but you eat like.. so many spiders in your sleep during your lifetime. Have fun with that fact. |
I HAVE CONQUERED YOU, EVIL COMPUTER SPIDER FROM HELL!!!!
|
Yes I did know that but I doubt it would be huge spiders otherwise we would have choked to death... Better luck next time trying to gross me out. XD
|
I used to have an extreme fear of bugs which is now more of a "ewhgetawayfromme" thing. I still scream if they randomly appear but it was nothing like before. ^__^;
Go get those computer spiders! O;< |
Yeahhh, Vit, you're a little scared of bugs. xD;
Spiders are nasty things, really, but I'm not particularly scared of them. They are off-putting, in a way, they make me feel uneasy and want to leave the room, but I'm not like "AHHHHGETAWAYGETAWAYGETAWAY!!" with them. The bigger they are, the scarier they are. They do make pretty webs, though. Even though they get in the way, when they're outside and the sun hits them just right, they're quite lovely. |
Just yesterday when I was watching Highlander, My brother said he saw a huge spider crawl under a table near the TV, I took a rolled up newspaper and I pulled the table away and didn't see anything.. I kept shifting furniture around and finally found it.. it was large. but I smacked it three times with the newspaper and crushed it a bunch of times with the paper's edge.. I left it's carcass behind the TV, It's still there... All done while the soundtrack to Highlander was playing in the background..
There also was a normal sized spider crawling on my room wall and it stopped above my window and I smashed it with a CD case and it's body is still stuck to the wall.. It's been there for a few months now.. Sort of like my rooms mascot. Spud the mushed spider.. If killing spiders inside your house brings you bad luck.. I am very unlucky. |
I'm terrified of spiders. I run and scream when I see one.
I saw one actually walking on water the other day when I was in the pool. It was rather amusing. |
