Procrastinators R Us! D:

Yea, so the beginning of my fourth week of school starts tomorrow, and I have a 4-page-report due on The Patriot. I saw the movie last weekend, but now I have to write an analysis on the characters, a critique, how truthful the movie was, etc. Not fun Dx
I've spent the day watching Pokemon D&P (YUCK) and drawing Sasuke in my new drawing notebook. It looks pretty good so far, I just need to do the eyes now.

*cough*

So, other procrastinators: What should you be doing now?!
To the non-procrastinators: How do you do it?!?!

linkfreak131 09-03-2007 10:46 PM

I know just how you feel. XD On the very last day of summer vacation, I started working (and thankfully finnished) my 15 paged History essay. XD

So far this yer, I've been pretty good with keeping up with things, though... I think that 15 paged essay was the biggest procrastination project I've ever done. XD

Chexala 09-03-2007 10:51 PM

Merp, I'm procrastinating right now. I have much English and Math homework to be doing for tomorrow. It actually wouldn't take me that long to finish it all, and then I could enjoy myself unhindered, but I'm procrastinating anyway.

My books are right under my arm though, glaring at me, and somehow, procrastinating in college just doesn't… work. So, back to work I go. :(

Bubblegum 09-03-2007 10:54 PM

Somehow, this year, I haven't procrastinated once. I've been motivated to keep up in all my classes so that my school doesn't kick me (I'm currently at my dream school, and they do kick people out. So I have to be really careful and get good marks in all my classes.), so homework is always the first thing I do when I get home.
Then again, not everyone is in love with their school, so they don't have the motivation. Last year, I hated my school and I never got anything done. And I couldn't manage to get myself motivated. I was a wonderful procrastinator. x__x;;

Chexala 09-03-2007 11:10 PM

^ Oh, that's wonderful that you're going to a school that you like, and that it's keeping you motivated.

I love my philosophy class, so it's easy to do my homework for it. My other classes require more discipline.

(Yeah, still procrastinating.)

Queen Fool 09-03-2007 11:27 PM

Well...I only did half my summer reading.

And it's due in a week.

mystic kiwi 09-04-2007 12:17 AM

I always put everything off until the last minute if I can. Right now I’m not worried about anything that I have to do because I can do it tomorrow or have to do it tomorrow because the banks are closed now. Most of my stress is caused from me putting things off until the last minute so I don’t know why I do it. I would probably not be as bad if I would just do what I had to do right away. I should be sleeping, that’s the only thing that I can think of. Of course, I ever procrastinate when it comes to that too.

secretdae007 09-04-2007 12:25 AM

I should be working on a journal entry about writing and how I feel and think about it. Terribly boring, if I do say so myself.

I should also be reading about 4 chapters in my oceanography book but that isn't really happening. How can I read a book for a class where the teacher doesn't even know what is going on 1/2 the time?

I also need to start reading 2 other books and studying for a wellness test... Yeah, I'm pretty good a procrastinating though... If only I could make a career out of it....

Xellbe 09-04-2007 01:36 AM

I think I mainly wait until the last minute to start so that I'm put under pressure. When I'm under pressure, I work well and efficiently. If I get interrupted though, I will literally scream at the person who walked into my room (normally my sister). If I get a phone call, I answer it, say I can't talk and then hang up. Most of my friends know that if I say that and hear a click afterwards that they shouldn't call back unless its an emergency.
In addition, waiting till the last minute also allows me to work at night, where I will rarely get interruptions. Thats probably another reason why I do it.

Dystopia 09-04-2007 01:39 AM

I still have half my summer homework to finish and I go back to school in three days. I've been putting it of for as long as I could, but now I'm hoping that I can actually finish it on time. xD

Quaint Sheep 09-04-2007 01:41 AM

Yeah I'm a procrastinator.
LET'S UNITE!

Eh, let's unite later...

A Scanner Darkly 09-04-2007 01:41 AM

I put off a lot of big projects in my 8th grade year. I once crammed a project that we were given two weeks to do into three periods on the day it was due. I got a 96 on it.

I should probably be working on finishing a drawing, seeing as tomorrow is the last day of summer for me. It's not an assignment, but I'd like to feel like I accomplished something this summer. My sketchbook is full of half-finished pictures. >,>

I'm going to make it a goal to procrastinate less this year. I can't afford to get behind in my new classes.

diehly 09-04-2007 01:56 AM

I should be sleeping now but I'll do that later

Sanctuary 09-04-2007 02:19 AM

I always procrastinate.

I don't know how some people can manage not to. It's so difficult to force myself to do things early. I'm lazy. I want to have fun until the last possible momment and then work my butt off.

It took me forever to finish my smmer homework. I've got my first day of school tommorow abd I'm pracrastinatng about editing my papers and getting ready.

I wish I didn't procrastinate.

It stresses me out ><

Redon 09-04-2007 03:58 AM

I have, perhaps, 6 paintings due on Monday?
Not only that, I have two exams tomorrow.
And I'm sitting here, scoffing chocolate and chips in front of my computer instead.
C:
I'm like, totally screwed!
<3

Zweres 09-04-2007 04:31 AM

  • D; I procrastinate on everything not related to academic things. For things relating to school, for some reason, I just have to get it done as fast as I can, even if its due in weeks. x.x I study every day for quizzes once I hear about them, but for other things (updating threads, calling friends, going to parties), I usually procrastinate going to them (making me late, but I don't really mind), and so forth. x.x

Stephanie 09-04-2007 04:47 AM

Oh gosh Zweres, I wish I was more like you xD:
I always call everyone up the minute after I make plans to invite them, and I'm always like 20 minutes early to EVERYTHING. Even school x_x

` Nitemare 09-04-2007 06:17 AM

Pokemon D&P is kinda icky.
It's just like the rest, just with new characters.
How lame.
::snore::

A-ways.
I procrastinate a lot.
I try not too but other things like video games and playing online is so much better then working on English homework!
I'm trying to get better.

Hopefully I can be an ex-procrastinator.

That'll be the day.

Stephanie 09-04-2007 12:54 PM

They should have support meetings to help you stay on top of things. Like AA but for procrastinators.
Problem is though, everyone would be like "Oh, I'll catch the next meeting" D:

CrepsleyKabob 09-04-2007 01:11 PM

I procrastinate a lot >_>;

Really bad habit, though strangely enough I never get caught

I guess you can be smart and lazy at the same time ;]

Youn 09-04-2007 01:46 PM

Procastinating is fun! XD
At least... until you realise just how close the deadline is, then it's no fun anymore.

I've procastinated on anything and everything for ages so I'm finally starting to pick myself together, at least, academically. For once, I've planned carefully and made smaller goals so I now am three weeks ahead of reading. It's a very strange feeling, I sometimes find myself getting stressed about not having anything to get stressed about.

I've never missed a deadline, though. I'm terribly afraid of being too late so I always finish in time, no matter how much work it'll take. It's possible but much more hard on your health. <.<

Yeah 09-04-2007 01:49 PM

When did they start having you write reports about movies? Do they figure if there is a movie based on a book, you won't read the book so they just have you watch the movie? Weird. I don't procrastinate because then things don't get done.

Stephanie 09-04-2007 02:06 PM

No, the teacher gives out the title of a movie at the beginning of each unit, and we need to watch it and write a report on it. Then we have to point out how historically correct it is and write an analysis. My friend Ellie said it took her half an hour, so I'll probably do it in 3rd period today (my homework period).

nescia 09-04-2007 02:06 PM

Ew... I don't like this topic.

I procrastinate all of the time.

This summer I was supposed to read 3 books and write four papers.

Two of these papers are due this Friday.

Two are due next Friday.

What have I accomplished so far?

I read one book...

Yikes! This sucks...

Oh, well. At least, I'm not wasting time right now...

I'm practicing double-spacing things!
