I could've been quarter French and in France right now! D<

Lol, so like a couple of months ago, my mom told me about how this guy proposed to her who was half French and half Viet. But she declined.

So I was all, "=OO Omg, if she married him, I could've been quarter French!! And be living in France right now!" Because he wanted to take her there to live if they married.

Sucky that I ended up all Viet, inside and out. DDx I want to have a mix background so bad! TT_TT

Anyway, my question for you guys is, what would your background/country be if your mom (since females are the one getting pregnant and all) married someone else? =OO But then I guess dads can take part in it too? ._.;

Ever had such conversation with your parents like that? xD; About marriage, dates, and etc.

` Nitemare 09-12-2007 02:28 AM

Err, I don't know if my mom had the chance to marry someone else. ._.'
Too bad too. >.>;

I'm 75% German and 25% English. D:
It's eh for me.

I use to be called Nazi Girl in middle school.
((Not that I support Nazi's or anything, I didn't know exactly what they did; I knew they killed Jews but that's it.))

I wouldn't mind having an accent though. D;
God I love em.
Maybe a Romanian kind...I dunno. lol
Anything but this horrible
American crap. D:

  • D8 I wish I could move to China for a bit, then come back home. 8DD Get a taste of the place there. x.x Well, obviously you're mother didn't really feel comfortable with him, which is why he declined. 8DD Although living in France would be awesome.

Its funny that you wish you want to be mixed, because I know someone who says he is completely satisfied that he's fully Asian and would 'kill' himself if he found out otherwise. He has this thing about mixing different races together, which I dont' agree with but meh.

Anyway, I've met a few mixed people, mostly half Asian and half European descent. I've noticed that a lot of them are quite attractive, I mean I think I've met one guy who was mixed and unattractive, all the others looked at least decent.

I'm happy to be fully Asian myself. Though I remember in the past wishing I could be Caucasian and knowing as much Mandarin as I know now so I'd seem intelligent.

I don't think there's been any other proposals other than my dad to mom.
I could be living in the Carribean right now though, if my nan had said she would go there. (her husband was offered a house there) but she wouldn't go. But then, i guess i wouldn't be me if that had happened, as my dad would never have met my mom.

ln(e) 09-13-2007 03:21 PM

Well at least your not French. I'm 100% British. Dad's side can be chased all the way back to Whales. Mom came from Leeds. I live in America.

Alegretto 09-13-2007 03:42 PM

Dunno about ethinticity, but I know that if my mother with the first guy who proposed to her, I'd be stupidly rich. He gave her ridiculously expensive stuff and had a bunch of fancy cars, from what she tells me.

Oh well. I'm happy with my dad and his Scottish powers. And that he looks like Henry VIII. :3

Yeah 09-13-2007 05:20 PM

I think you should be glad your are 100% Vietnamese, my neighbors are a Viet man and a white woman, they have three daughters who took their skin tone, hair and eye color and eye shape from their dad, very pretty girls. Their mother weighs at least 400 pounds (and I am not taking a jab at fat people) but they inherited her huge hips and if they don't watch, they will probably inherit her weight problem. I know in this country just about everyone is prone to some weight gain, but it seems that Asian women tend to be smaller, and most of the women I see in this area tend to be thinner also. We should all just be happy with who we are anyway. But that's my input.

joanne faith 09-13-2007 05:21 PM

  • On the otherhand, if she has accepted his proposal you might not exist at all. ;3

Ebil 09-13-2007 05:28 PM

I'm mixed enough as it is, so I'm good how I am I think o_o
My Mum = Portuguese-Dutch-Sri Lankan
My Dad's French-Hungarian-Dutch-Sri Lankan
Me = Eurasian Mutt

Both my parents claim they'd never been with anyone before they married each other, although it is kind of doubtful on my dads part as he seems incapable of keeping it in his pants when there are tall leggy blonde bimbos about >.<

Kadrias 09-13-2007 05:53 PM

  • Hmm, my dad is French, my mom is Australian, I was born in Perth (Australia) but didn't stay there for long and we went back to Indonesia, in which I spent the first part of my childhood.

    What would that make me..? XD

    I don't think there was really anyone else my mom might have married, since she met my dad when her family just kinda up and left her in France. : /

    I personally can't stand the French side of my family because they're so full of themselves, and so many other things I won't go into, and they treated my mom horribly.

    Well now she's married to someone who is from the Philippines and mostly grew up in Hawaii.

    I don't know about my dad. >.> I've never known much about him, to be honest. XD My step-dad is much more of a father figure to me.... ._.ll

    So with my biased opinions I say be happy you're not part French? XD But, in any case, you should be proud of your background. :3

I thought of that too, just didn't write it. Considering we are all half of each of our parents, you wouldn't be you.

Chexala 09-13-2007 07:52 PM

Heheh, when I told my mom that I was reading Slaughterhouse-Five, she told me that she dated the guy who plays Billy Pilgrim in the movie. It was just a fling while the guy was in LA, but I like to joke that I could have been the kid of Billy Pilgrim. ^__^

Both my parents had dated other people before they met, so I could have been anyone. Just think of all the people that I'm not! Even between my parents genetics, I was a one-in-70 trillion chance! Yikes! That's a lot of people to maybe have been.

cleric sarah 09-13-2007 09:14 PM

T_T I could be living in Florida and be a poor person...

oh wait..I already am... @[email protected];

My moms been married three times >.>;

my dads from texas, and its funny, HOURS before he proposed to her another guy asker her to marry him xD

thank god she didnt cause hes dead now o.O;

Queen Fool 09-13-2007 10:24 PM

I have no clue about my parent's past love lives (or current, since they're divorced).

I'm not sure what my mom is, but my dad is half Croatian and half Irish...

Edit: And I think I'm an accident...not sure though. I know my dad was (shh don't tell him).

Reverie 09-13-2007 11:04 PM

I was the product of a one night stand. :<

However, I know that my ethnicity is (apparently) Hungarian, German, Scottish and Welsh. Ahh, and I'm a born Canadian, so add that into the mix haha.

Aeisha 09-13-2007 11:24 PM

All I know about my mum in that particular area was that she had one other lover (funny how we shared that piece of information :roll: ) Before she met and married my dad. My mum is my dad's second wife. I think his other one lives in England with my half brother but I am not sure since I never met either of them.
I am half Australian (in other words I could be anything) and half Welsh. I am happy being what I am since in my point of view it doesn't really matter. The only noticeable difference is that I am a fair bit paler than most other girls my age.
At the moment though I really wish I could go to England, their accents are heavenly.

Quaint Sheep 09-14-2007 12:25 AM

I'm your average American:
25% Danish, 25% Scotch-Irish, 50% bunch of other crap jumbled around.
I'd rather be 100% Danish SO bad!! But my features do give off that of a Dane, I also don't have a southern accent like most people where I live should. My voice has a softer more Northern sound to it.

I do wonder how different my life would be if I lived somewhere else... Like a whole different continent.

mangacatgirl 09-14-2007 12:32 AM

But... if your father was a different man... it wouldn't of been you who was born o.O; You wouldn't exist o.o;

Eh... As for me... I don't really care, either way. Whatever ethnicity I am is fine with me. It doesn't really make such a big difference, does it?

Cherry Who? 09-14-2007 12:36 AM

Hmm, I think the only other possibility would have been if my mother had married her highschool sweetheart (who she incidentally only sort of liked, despite dating him for years o.O)
But it wouldn't give me any super interesting heritages. I think he was just Caucasian.
I'm fine with my dad being my dad. His mother is full Scottish, and I like being very Scottish. ^^

Too bad I can't roll my Rs.... ._ .

mystic kiwi 09-14-2007 01:32 AM

My mom married her first boyfriend so there was no other guy for her.

Stephanie 09-14-2007 02:03 AM

I'd probably be 1/4th German.
But I'd still have blue eyes and brown hair! :D

Amp 09-14-2007 02:18 AM

Lol, I already have mixed background. It makes me glad I'm treated just like everyone else. xD;
Any who, I'm half hispanic/half american. My dad was born in Mexico, I was born in the USA ^_^

cleric sarah 09-14-2007 03:53 AM

HAHA queen, my sister was an accident @[email protected]

right after they got pregnant with her my dad got clipped D:

thank god, if there were anymore like my sister, I think I'd have killed myself by now @[email protected]

XD Yeah, you wouldn't be you if your mom married that guy. You'd just be 1/4 French, living in France, and not caring that you are. Maybe you'd even be wishing you lived somewhere else! XDD

So what you should do now is learn French, move to France, and pretend that you've been living there all your life like you would have if your mom married the French-Vietnamese guy. Then you get to live the life, AND actually appreciate it. lawl
