He laughed and blushed, for once forgetting that he'd come up empty handed.
"Geeze, don't have a cow there Shiba!" He smiled as she pulled away. "But I'm glad that you can see now." Kiri blinked. "Worried? About me?" She let out a squeal as Shiba nuzzled her face. "Okay Ane." She said. She turned to Chesa and cocked her head. Aniki? She thought seeing the blood-red eyes. Hmm... Edward was furious, he stood to start yelling about losing Kiri in the crowds when he noticed a hand over his. "Wha?" He turned back and saw Shiba and Kiri moving away. "Waita-! Damn...there she goes...blasted enigma..." He turned to Chesa and tilted his head. "Not to be mean or anything..umm..Chesa was it? But I've got an 'interrogation' waiting on me, but we'll talk later!" He waved and hurried off, Alphonse right behind him, taking time out to bow in a farewell. |
::I growled "YES! I was worried about you! Youre so mysterious!!! You cant leave my side again alright? If anything, if I have to go to school stay with Ed or Al next time.." I let out a sigh and let her go, running my hand over my head.
As I walked off, I smiled as I heard Eds pitter patter behind me, then followed by Als THUMP THUMP THUMP of his armor. Chesa just stood as we all went off. She sent him a sad smile waving behind them. I looked over at Kiri "Soo you up to make some money today?? I wanna sleep in a warm bed tonight! And maybe take a hot bath in the spring!" I let out a squee and looked over my shoulder at the boys. "You guys just watch us work our magic!" I turned around and handed Edward my bags, Al my 18x24 blank canvas and took Kiri's hand and began sprinting:: [I thought maybe Ed would be floored by her looking like Winry >.> Oh well.] |
Kiri sighed happily, she'd really only been running along rooftops all day, sorting through half the things that were worrying her, but she smiled all the same and begrudingly agreed....to come with her to school and wait outside. She nodded in agreement, raising her fist in a determined pose.
"You bet! After last night a warm bed sounds great!" Edward grumbled to himself and shoved his hands in his pockets, this was going to require tact...he couldn't just come right out and demand to know where she'd been, or answers to the numerous other questions he had, so he nodded and fell instep behind them, after of course glaring at the bags that Shiba handed him. He looked sideways at Alphonse and his eyebrow began to twitch. "When did we become bag boys?" He merely laughed and pointed. "Since they ran off that way." ((He's got a one track mind XDD)) |
::I giggled as I turned into a pet store. I waved to the owner "Hello there! Need some help cleaning? Its a one time fee!!"
The clerk smiled, the room was filled with cats and dogs, making their sounds as we went inside. He smiled "Sure...hows 500$ for the day sound?" I grinned "Perfect old man, let us work our magic.." I pretended to push up my sleeves and went over to a cage full of kittens. They mewd at me and I grinned at them. I pulled off my gloves and shoved them in my pocket and with one clap and a tap of my fingers, the newspaper shreds they walked upon were clean- the dirty stuff went into the litter box. I then moved to the litter box and clapped and dug my fingers into the sand. The waste became a solid brick and i grinned, throwing it into the trash., "One cage down, about 30 to go." I smiled at Kiri "You can do the fish tanks, I'm sure the fish would appreciate that." I wiped my forehead on my shoulder and waved to the boys though the store window, doing another transmutation for the rabbit cage:: |
She followed Shiba into the pet store and tried hard not to pay any attention to the scared looks from the animals she was getting, why shouldn't they be afraid? She stayed in a corner out of the way until Shiba suggested she take the fishtanks, Kiri nodded and moved to the glass tank, smiling sadly as the fish huddled in a mass in a far corner.
"Alright." She clapped once and filtered the water, drawing the waste and minerals out and winding them in the ball of waste water that she'd gathered in her palm. Once that was done she quickly disposed of that and refilled what water the tank required for it's inhabitants. She turned to Shiba once that was done and clasped her hands behind her. "Ane...I'm going to wait outside...the boys look lonely" Lie, they were pressed against the window looking inside scrutinizing the girl's work. "...and I think I'm developing allergies." She sneezed once as she headed for the door. |
::Finished with 5 cages now I nodded to her "Go ahead, Ill finish up in here." I turned to another cage and clapped, and in a flash the cage was clean.
I looked at the tank she had done and lifted an eyebrow. "Wow, youre good at that.." I gave the boys a look- I'd have to clean them windows and now the oils from Eds face was left as a residue on the glass. I stuck my tongue out at him. I watched her walk out and cleaned another cage. I was only halfway done, I wanted to get a shower soon- I was still covered in paint:: |
"Alright." She waved and let the door close behind her. Kiri moved to place her back against the wall outside the store. Edward ignored the look that Shiba shot him and moved beside her.
"What's wrong? You don't like animals?" "I'm allgergic." She sneezed again to make her point. "Funny you failed to mention that before going in there." "Shut up Elric." Her blue eyes turned to him, painfully bright. "I just..... don't belong in there." She looked out over the street awaiting Shiba to finish. ((Gomen, I lost my train of thought while working on my flash movie XP)) |
::After about 45 minutes I took my pay, bowed and walked outside.
"Okay...no more cleaning for Shiba... Shiba wants a shower.." I wiped my face off on my arm again and looked to Ed, taking my bags. "Im...so tired... and I feel disgusting but I got 500$! We can stay at the inn again! I'm so excited! I can't wait to go in the spring!" I blushed and began walking towards it. I remembered when Ed was drunk he mentioned something about listening to my and Kiris conversation, but after that night he never said another word. Did he really hear us talking? Why didn't he really say anything to me about it? Does he...I shook my head and looked forward. NO way! I grunted, deep in thought. I practically fell as I tripped over something and caught my balance and looked back to what i tripped on. It was a lovebird. I stopped and stared, bewildered and sad at the same time. I said not a word, and just stood as the others walked on. The bird didnt move; and I walked back, and knelt beside it.:: |
Kiri stood and greeted Shiba with a sad wave as she finally came out of the store.
"I'm glad for you Ane, at least you won't be cold tonight." She walked ahead of the others making her way to the hotel they'd stayed in before, head lowered in thought. Edward and Alphonse right behind her...that was until Shiba walked back. "Huh? What the?" He looked about trying to find her and then spotted her, she'd fell so far behind, he didn't feel like going to getting her, so he merely waved at her to hurry. "Come on Shiba! What're you waiting for?" |
[Ahh I love that movie... *dreams*]
::Hearing Ed's voice, i picked up the bird and ran towards him, hiding it from sight and I ran ahead of him, without a word. Entering the hotel, I turned to Ed, keeping the bird behind my back and handed him the money. "Here, take care of it, I need to use the restroom.." I ran off towards the bathroom, cradling the bird gently:: |
Edward looked down at the money confused. Shiba was acting weird all of a sudden..he shrugged and paid the clerk, opting for a two bed room instead of the one that they had last time..it took a larger chunk out of their funds, he grimaced and hoped Shiba wouldnt' be too mad at him. He turned to Kiri and pointed as if directing a dog to sit.
"Stay here, our rooms the last one on the right on the second floor, we'll leave the door unlocked." "Fine." She muttered turning away to stare out a window. Honestly that boy could be such a brat! ((Which movie? o.0)) |

::I slammed the door shut, locking it behind me and frantically put the bird down on the marble counter. No movement, no breath. The bird had died in my hands. With a gasp of breath and complete concentration, I clapped and put my fingers to the birds chest. My leg in which I had the automail foot, burned for a moment and I heard a chirp, echoed in the bathroom. Panting, I look down at the small soul who was up and about. I smiled and scooped her up in my hands. "Try not to get hurt again alright?" It seemed to answer me by chirping back and I looked around the bathroom for a window but there were none. I wished I had my jacket and cursed under my breath. I set her on my shoulder and casually walked out of the bathroom:: |

Kiri was waiting by the lobby when she saw Shiba across the room she started to wave but stopped, why was there a bird on her shoulder? Surely it hadn't been there before...why was it now? She manuvered around the crowds that had begun to gather and followed behind her, seeing where she'd went....and to see if she could get an explination. |
::I walked past Kiri and opened the door and the bird flew off. I smiled and looked to the sky in a daze as the lovebird disappeared into the clouds. I smiled and turned to Kiri and took her arm "C'mon, lets get in the spring!!!" I squeed and dragged her down the hall, then stopped.

She forgot everything that she had planned out to ask when Shiba turned to her suddenly and decided to head to the hot spring.
"Ane?!" She was whipped around and almost toppled over her feet as she tried to catch up, she breathed a sigh of relief when Shiba stopped. "The boys are upstairs, they said that they'd leave the door unlocked for us when you got out of the bathroom....Ane...can I ask you something?" ((I didn't, it took me a while but I posted XDD)) |
::I smiled at her "Aww I was hoping Edward would join me in the spring.." i pouted and folded my arms, then winked at her.

She looked away, her gaze falling to the floor, suddenly the questions had become lodged in her throat..but she forced them out with diffuculty.
"Ane...where...where did that bird that you set free come from? you couldn't have picked it up in the bathroom..and I didn't notice you come in with it." She sighed and laughed nervously. "Ah ha..you really don't have to answer that if you don't want to, it was just me rambling, let's get to the hot spring before all the other customers decide to head there as well." She gently took hold of Shiba's arm and pulled her in that direction. |
::I smiled at her nervously "Does that really matter? What matters now is a great bath! But I need to drop my bags off in the room first...so Ill be right there alright?" I shifted the weight of my bags and headed towards the steps and ran up them. Dammit, did she see me?
I burst into the hallway, running into the back of Alphonse. With a loud thud I fell onto the floor, my collarbone throbbing from hitting him so hard. "Ah.." I touched it with my hand but it made it hurt even more. It bled and I gritted my teeth, seeing that my supplies flew onto the floor, yet again. I looked up at him and gave him a worried grin "Sorry about that Al..":: |
"Oh Shiba, you out already?" He knelt and helped her gather her things.
"That's alright, I tend to take up a lot of space anyway." He looked behind her. "Isn't Kiri with you? Or are you two going to the hot spring again?" In the shower room, Kiri leaned against the wall. Damn...I shouldn't have brought that up...if I start digging in things...I might discover a few skeletons that shouldn't emerge.... EVER. She traced over her palm and lay her cloak aside keeping in the darker corners in case anyone else other than Shiba decided to show up. |
::I smiled at him, hoping he wouldn't notice my wound.
"I didnt go in yet, I wanted to drop this stuff off first and see if Ed was coming... I know the baths are separated but it'd be nice to know he was on the other side.." i blushed and stood, thanking him for helping me gather my supplies, and picked up my bags. "Kiri is waiting for me in the bath house.. I wish you could join us but.." My voice trailed off and I looked up into his empty eyes, mine got a bit watery "Im..sorry" I brought my hand to my chest and hid my eyes:: |
"I'm sure he'd like that, I don't think the ground agreed with his back too well." He smiled and then looked at her with concern.
"Shiba....what's wrong? Are you alright? What happened? It's not my fault is it?" He flailed and started apologizing for whatever it was that he'd done until Edward came out of the room. "Shiba?" He asked scratching along his stomach where he'd removed his jacket. "What's the matter?" |
::I looked up at him, a tear rolling down my cheek.
"You didn't do anything...I'm sorry...youre this way... I'm so...insensitive.." I put my arms around him and hugged hiss cold waist; its about all I could reach. The steel was so cold against my skin and i sniffed. "I..want to help Ed get your body back.. in any way I can.. Id love for Ed to have his arm and leg back, but at least he.. can feel when I touch him." I released Alphonse slowly as I heard Eds voice and wiped my eyes on my paint covered arm, my face still red I looked to him. "Hey there... what are you doing right now?" I was him running his automail hand along his stomach, lifting his shirt up a tad. I blushed and about-faced. "I, uhm...nevermind me.." I turned around again and walked past him into the room, dropping my heavy bags. My heart raced, placing my hand over my heart. I could never tell him how I felt... I was just another girl on his journey.. i smiled sadly, and quickly clapped and touched my collar bone, the flesh went back to being as good as new.:: |
Al placed his arms about Shiba's shoulders as she gripped him and then turned to Edward with a shrug. He turned surprised to her and squeezed her gently.
"Don't worry about it, we'll get our orignal bodies back." He smiled and patted her head. "But...thanks." "Nothing why?" Edward stretched out his back popping as he leaned to the right. "Uh h-hey! I thought there was something you wanted." |
::I heard him yell from the hallway and came back out of the room, my socks and shoes and gloves off.
"Nothing..nevermind me. Ill be in the spring if you need me Ed..Al" I sent Al a sad smile and walked slowly down the steps, holding on to the railing carefully. I'm so selfish... he's a free spirit... he could never.. I bit my lip as I emerged into the harsh light of the lobby and a headed towards the bath house:: |
Edward turned to Al scratching his head.
"Did you understand a word of what she just said?" "If you mean did I understand the words, yes, the meaning no." He stood and looked after Shiba as she left. "I quit trying to understand women the last time we visited Winry." "Lucky you." Golem... the words echoed in her mind as Kiri stepped into the running water, she'd almost given up on Shiba and decided to just go ahead and wait for her in the spring. "A golem...artifical being...is that all that I am?" Her voice echoed eeriely in the empty room. So far no one else had decided to take advantage of the spring. "Is that all that I will ever be? Just a doll? With no soul?" She looked down at her gloved hands wringing wet under the showerhead. Damn... |
