"That's good..." Edward, for all his tough act never wanted to see the Major or any of the Lieutenants hurt. Edward hopped in the back, giving Alphonse a look and he nodded, taking the front seat next to the Colonel, leaving Edward with Shiba.
"It'll be a while before we stop again...why don't you try to get some sleep?"He smiled wearily and folded his coat up into a makeshift pillow. "Here." He offered extending it to her. "I think you'll find that better than the back of the seat." |

Roy gave Al a look when he sat in the front and just shrugged and began to dive. I sat up and rolled my body over, so I faced Edward. I smiled and took it from him. "Thanks..Edward." I looked into his eyes; I could tell he was exhausted too and I laid the 'pillow' on the hump of the back seat and laid down, the top of my head pressed against his thigh. I shifted, trying to get comfortable and I leaned up, putting my weight on my arms. "I'm not going to lean on you the whole way home, I'll have ta' think of something else..." I yawned, covering my mouth and I saw Roy watching from the rear view mirror. I blushed and sat up normally and looked out the window. "If I were you two, I'd get some rest; we have a long drive to East City. Don't worry, I'll wake you both when were there." Roy said simply, and drove on, at normal speed. |
"I can think of something for you." He smirked after Mustang suggested they both rest. He hooked an arm around Shiba's shoulders and tucked her head under his chin, laying his head ontop of hers.
"There...now...we'll..be leaning..on each other.." He stifled a yawn..but soon his breath came in soft whistles, his chest rising and falling in a even manner. "Big Brother..." Al sighed. "You just wanted someone to sleep on didn't you?" He chuckled and turned to look back over his shoulder. "Don't mind him...if he gets to snoring...just punch him in the ribs."Alphonse looked over at his brother and sighed...his dreams lately hadn't affected his sleep that much..but after what happened..he wondered if Edward would be sleeping well for a while. |
I squeaked and blushed hard as I was pulled to his breast and I looked up at him.
"Uhm, are you sure this is okay?" I kept my arms tucked under my chest. I now knew what his Winry looked like and how she acted... she was a sweet girl and seemed to really care for him. I knew it wasn't my place to intrude on his life. His automail arm was cold and I sent a brisk shiver down my arm as he touched my shoulder. I looked up at Al, then back to Ed, picking my head up. "I'm sorry, I could go in the front seat if you like, and Al could come back here?" My heart raced... my face was still flushed with pink. Roy laughed and drove on, thinking it'd be best if he stayed out of this love affair-for once. |
Alphonse shook his head waving his hands.
"Oh that's alright...I..I wouldn't want to wake him up..." He meant he was afraid to..Edward had a nasty little habit of waking up on the wrong side of the bed...he didn't want to leave Shiba to deal with it...but then again he, himself, was reluctant to bear the brunt of it. Alphonse glared at the Colonel. "You're not helping things you know." Edward, in the meantime, was blissfully unaware of the goings-on as he slipped further and further into a dreamless sleep...in the back of his mind, he dreaded going back to East City...but, then again he was dreading going back to the Military as well...after his stunts at the Lab..Mustang would tighten his leash a good three notches or more for a while. |
I sent a reassuring smile to Al before closing my eyes and nestling my face into his collarbone, before finally slipping into a deep sleep.
My dreams...were nightmares... this was unusual, as I usually almost never dreamed. Images of a bleeding Edward and a broken Alphonse flashed left and right... I whipped my vision left and right to find my hand..holding a red stone. Ed looked to me, his right shoulder and left knee bleeding profusely. He dragged his body towards me, reaching out his left hand to me. "Shiba...help us..." he cried. His voice faded as I was awakened by a slam of the car door; Roy got out and stretched; we were in front of my school. I sat up and looked around; it seemed so fast. My forehead was covered in sweat and I looked to Ed, who was still in his dreamy bliss. "C'mon, get out of my car, I have a long drive home and a very angry Lieutenant to deal with when I get back." He patted Edwards head gently. |
Edward snuffled against the intruding hand that ruffled his hair and stirred him from his sleep.
"Wha..." He muttered lifting his head and looking around rubbing at the matter in his eyes. "Where are we?" He sniffed, looking back at the Colonel. "Bah...If she doesn't shoot you she'd be doing the world a great disservice." He all but rolled out of the car and hit the pavement on all fours before rising. "Al?" He called. "Over here." Alphonse, already out in the street, moved from behind the car, and hefted their luggage. "Couldn't leave this behind could I?" He lifted Shiba's bag as well. "Or this."Edward smiled sleepily. "What would I do without you?" "You'd forget everything...and I do mean everything Edward." "Heh...probably."He looked back inside and held out his hand to Shiba. "How'd you sleep...you don't look to well." |
I smiled as I saw Al outside of the car. I climbed out of the car on Ed's side, bringing his coat with me. I looked to his hand and smiled, placing mine in his and stood.
"I feel a whole lot better.. but I'm still so tired..." I slipped out a yawn and smiled at Al, draping Ed's coat over my arm, I walked up to him and took my supplies from him. "Thanks so much for watching my stuff... I should leave all this art stuff in my locker.. I have no need for it over the summer... I have my sketchbook, anyway." I smiled, and pointed at my backpack, slung over my shoulder. Roy groaned and slammed the back door shut. I jumped forward and looked to him. "I have to be going. Elric... I'll send someone for you if I need anything. For now, take it easy." He sent him a smile and nodded to me, tucking something into my hand and jumped in the car. He blared the radio before speeding off. I looked at the thing in my hand and was shocked at what I found. "M-Mustang?!" I found it was a ticket to a hot spring resort at the edge of town, for a whole week, just for three, food and board fully paid. I looked to the car that sped off and waved happily. |
Edward scratched the back of his head.
"You know...for being such a jerk....that Mustang, at times, can be a pretty decent guy..." He smiled over Shiba's shoulder. "Pretty decent indeed." He extended his arms out in front of him, linking his fingers and cracked his arms from the wrists up. "So...until I'm called away...shall we take Mustang up on his offer and relax? I'm sure you of all people could use the time off Shiba." He gave her a lopsided smile..things...were going to be a little shaky...or at least he thought they'd be..so he wanted Shiba to take as long as she needed before anything else happened to the trio. "You said it yourself, you were still tired." |
I stifled a laugh and looked to the midday sky.
"I was in his head... he has his reasons for being such a stuck-up bastard." I looked to Ed and nodded. "Oh yeah, Ive never been to a hot spring before, and I want a shower soooo badly...." I laughed and looked to my bags. "Wait one minute, okay?" I pulled my school id from my backpack and handed my bag to him and hefted my bags full of supplies into the school. After about 5 minutes, I came back, empty handed and looked to the boys. "Alright, lets go! I'm sure your aching body is screaming for a bath too, huh Ed?" tucking the tickets into my back pocket, I smiled at him, putting my hands behind my head as I walked, I let out a long sigh and looked over at Ed. "So.. now that you have the stone.. what are your plans now? Id love to see how cute Alphonse really is under that armor. He's only one year younger than you, right? I wonder what the chances are..." I pondered, teasing him. "Youre already taken, so I havta look elsewhere, right Edward?" I smiled at him sideways too, blushing a bit. |

"Sure he did..." He smirked and then nodded, waiting on her as she dropped off her things inside her school. "You bet! Hot water sounds really good right about now!" Edward tucked his hands into his pockets and shrugged. "I'm not sure..." Edward shot Alphonse a glance, and stifled a chuckle as his younger brother looked at him. 'Help meee!!' he seemed to say. "Sorry. You know how Shiba gets." He mouthed back turning to look ahead of them. "I think...maybe we should go back and study up on Marcoh's work with the Stone...If we use it...to get our bodies back..then we don't want to misuse it. It's still hard to believe that we finally got our hands on it...you know?" ((Gomen, I'm going to get off a little early tonight, so I'll see you on tomorrow. 'Night!)) |

After walking a few blocks we finally got there. It looked like some kind of dream... It was huge. I sent a look to Al. "Don't worry.. I'm only teasing.." i smiled sadly at him and looked forward. "Where's Marcho's work? Do you have to leave?" I said to him, as I made my way inside. It was a classic Japanese-style spring, all the uniforms were kimonos and I looked around; all women workers and they all were so beautiful. One came up and looked us over. "Welcome to the Hinata Inn. Do you have your ticket?" I nodded and pulled it from my pocket and handed it to her. "Ohh, we've been expecting you Ms. Katsugaia, please, this way." She bowed to Ed and Al, who looked like, to her anyway, to be my followers. I smiled and followed her. Our room was massive and at the end of a long hall- away from other rooms. Sliding a door open she stepped inside and to the side. I stepped in after her and looked around. It..was oddly romantic, and dimly lit and I groaned, seeing only futons rolled on the side- no sign of a bed anywhere. "Will that be all, Ms. Katsugaia?" She handed me a pile of clothes and bowed. I blushed, not being used to so much formalities. I bowed back to her. "Uhm, no that will be all thank you." She stood straight. "Very well then. Ring the bell if you need anything." I nodded as she left. I looked around and then to a sliding door across the way. I placed the clothes on the floor and slid it open- a private spring?! It was fenced off, our room could only access it. Tiki lamps lit the way; it was beautiful. "W-what the hell was Roy thinking!!!" I blushed and slammed the door shut. "This is a honey moon suite, not a 'hey lets go on vacation' suite..." I groaned and plopped down. "Now...we have to take turns.." |
Edward only laughed. It was a rare thing to see Alphonse so flustered.
"We won't have to leave...not right away..we've still kept what we've decoded in our case here." He motioned at the luggage that Alphonse carried. "We'll see where we have to go from there..." He clenched his automail fist in his pocket and almost smirked..it was too early to get his hopes up..but..he couldn't help it. Edward and Alphonse could only gape as they looked over the inside. "Holy...." "Wow...." They were left behind a moment as the attendant took Shiba on in, but they raced to catch up. After the young woman left...Edward couldn't help but snicker. "Hey...Al...how long to you figure he's been holding on to those tickets?" "Probably not long....he probably got stood up on it...didn't have any way of redeeming them." Alphonse moved to sit near the door and waved his hand. "You two can sort the spring out...I'll wait in here." He opened the suitcase up and dug out his own polishing kit, taking off his helm in the process. "I'm a bit overdue, you know?" |

I sighed and looked to Edward. "You wanna go in first?" I blushed and ran my hand through my ink patched hair. I laughed at Al's response about Roy getting stood up. I had no idea about the tickets, I knew he had them, but I didnt bother to look further into it. I shrugged. I looked to Al sadly; I wished he could join us, but I knew he couldn't. I flashed my blue eyes to Ed and grinned. "Or, we can go in together, if we promise not to peek. I trust you." I blushed, teasing him. I picked up the pile of clothes; there was 1 kimono and 2 blue yukatas, and 3 towels. I handed him his yukata and a towel. |

He looked over and thought about it a moment. "You go ahead..I'm not going to be able to relax for a while anyway." He shed his coat and lay it aside, along with the towel and the yukata, stretching out before he started to prowl the room. He sifted through some vases in a corner and then through the drawers, he didn't seem to be looking for anything..just seeing what was there. "Are you sure you're Human Edward? I don't think anyone pokes their nose into every nook and cranny before relaxing at a spa." He only turned with a sniff and opened a drawer on one of the nightstands. |
[sorry about that-0 i was typing and my teacher caught me- i had to post it before she came and deleted my page, I would have cried!]
I stuck out my lip, and pouted. "Suit yourself..." I missed Kiri at this moment..she would usually be with me.. like before. I sighed as went outside alone, sliding the door shut silently behind me. The dusk sky was evident and I yawned, and removed my clothing, getting lost ion my thoughts. My clothing was muddy and blood-stained. I'd have to ask to see if there was a wash basin somewhere, to wash my clothes. There was a bucket off to the side with shampoos and soaps inside. I smiled and kneeled down and grabbed them and went into the water silently, placing my towel on a nearby rock. It was so steamy, and brass lions spewed out hot water from their mouths. I sighed and started to wash my body slowly. Enjoying every minute of this peacefulness. I only wish I wasn't alone; I seemed to have been alone alot these days, especially the last 2 weeks when I didn't see Ed. Then I remembered... I pushed him away in the woods. I let out a deep sigh and relaxed and laid back, rinsing out my hair. It was for the best...he'd be leaving me soon...and I knew it. |

"Brother?" "Hmm?" "What do you think will happen now?" "What do you mean?" Edward sat up in the bed that he'd practically fallen into and looked over at Al as he polished along his forearm. "I mean...are we going to try it? Are we going to use the Philospher's Stone?" Edward sighed, laying aside the notes that he'd been reading over from Marcoh's research. "I don't know...It's like I'm tettering...we've went for so long without our bodies..that..this has become the norm for us...going back to Resembool and getting regular maintenence...worrying over your BloodSeal...but..I want to get your orginal body back...I don't want to leave you up all night alone anymore." "That's good.." He sighed. "Because it gets lonely...you know?" "Yeah." |
A long sigh, I laid back in the water, rinsing off my soapy body. The warm water...felt so wonderful over my aching muscles. Then.. out of nowhere... Roy came to mind. Even though he was such a hard-ass, I knew what made him so tormented... so cold and distant. If he ever got an order to kill someone colse to him.. he wouldn;t hesitate... thats why he was always so cold and distant. I scratched my nose and looked to the flickering tiki light.
"Edward.." I said to myself. "Why.. do I feel like this towards you..? When I know.. my love will never be returned.." I sighed and put my hand over my heart. "Men... are so hard to understand.." I said to myself and about-faced, looking to the back fence. "He's keeping..so many things from me.. I know it... and I want to help him... any way I can.." I sighed deeply and stood, and went to the side of the spring and dried off, and pulled on my kimono. I didnt bother to pull up my hair- it was short now. I knocked on the sliding door; I didn't want to just barge in... on a conversation, or otherwise. |
"...on't know Al...maybe.." Edward turned at the knock and smiled.
"You don't have to knock Shiba, come on in before you freeze out there." He chuckled as he moved back to where he'd lain the towel and his yukata. "All finished out there?" He asked lightly, picking up the notes he'd lain off to the side and handing them to Alphonse. "Here. You keep looking back over these and I'll be back in a minute." Alphonse nodded and turned to Shiba. "Do you feel better?" He lay aside the oil and cloth, taking the notes from Edward and placed them on his knee reading over them as he finished his last paldron. |
I opened the door silently and peeked in.
"I didn't want to barge in.." I smiled sadly and came inside, sliding the door shut silently. "And its not that cold it; it is May after all. The water fees great.. so go on.. and enjoy yourself." I sent him a smile and sat down beside Al on the floor. "Ed, enjoy it... take as much time as you need. We'll be waiting for you when you come back." I ran my hand over my hair and looked at Al. "Wow, you look so shiny! I can see my reflection!!" I looked at myself in his arm and fluffed with my wet hair. I shrugged and leaned against the wall, letting out a long, satisfied sigh. "I feel a whole lot better.. It was easier on my body to fuse with Roy than it was when I fused with Scar. I can't figure out why though.." I sat, with my knees under me and looked to him. "So Alphonse.." I looked to the floor. "Are you excited, to have the Philosophers Stone now? You're so close to becoming human again.. then you can feel my hands on your shoulders when the time comes." I cracked my knuckles and looked to his hollow eyes. |
"Alright, alright you win!" He chuckled as he headed outside.
"I'll enjoy myself." He slid the door shut behind him and looked about outside. With a sigh, he lay his clothes off to one side and stepped in with a hiss. Alphonse would have blushed if he'd been able to. "R-Really?" He scratched behind his head and thanked her. "It's tough to get all the scratches out if I let it go for too long." He thought a moment and shrugged. "Perhaps it's because Colonel Mustang's transmutation circles are on his gloves and not his arm?" He turned to look back over the notes and sighed. "I don't know whether to be exicted or not...We'll more than likely get our bodies back...but...Human Lives are used to make these things...I..I've got to wonder...how the one that created Kiri..got a hold of one of these...or if..they used it at all to make her..." |
I watched Ed leave and he shut the door. I sighed and looked to Al.
I nodded hard. "You bet, prettiest and shiniest armor Ive seen in a long time. And to think you take care of it by hand and not alchemy..remarkable. You may have an artists touch and not even know it." My eyes widened and I looked up at him, startled. "T-that tattoo was a transmutation circle??" I pondered. "Maybe that is the reason... I only fused with one other person before I did it with Scar and Roy, and they werent an Alchemist. But because I can fuse with anyone.. I can learn all their secrets..tricks, and uses of Alchemy. Heck, if I wanted to, I could become a flame alchemist myself." I closed my eyes and tightened into a ball, bringing my knees to my chest. "Then..there was Scars memories... so many lives he's destroyed.. so many... the images, I cant seem to push from my head. I even saw when he met Kiri... it was really sweet." I let out a long sigh. Pressing my fingers to my lips I thought for a minute then said, "A Philosophers Stone is made of human lives... no wonder it has so much power..." I nodded and looked to him. "I can't wait to see what you look like in your human form, Alphonse." I looked to the door, hearing a slight splash, figuring Ed just got in the water. "Does he seem..distant to you...lately? He does..to me.. you think he hates me, Al?" I looked up at him. |
Alphonse merely laughed and finished up with the oil.
"Uh huh." He nodded. "At least that's what we think...he doesn't have to draw circles when he transmutes..." He listened and propped his head up on a fist. "When you see another person's memories...it really bothers you doesn't it? I mean...if they've hurt, or been hurt....you're really kind Shiba..." He nodded, hanging his head in thought. "He gets that way when he's thinking...he's worried, like I am, about trying to get our bodies back...we don't know what will happen...we don't want to go through that night again...So, no, he doesn't hate you. I think..he's trying his best to be strong...for everyone." Murmured voices echoed in his head as Edward leaned against the rock. He doubted he'd felt this relaxed in a while...things always kept forcing him to keep moving...he'd never really taken time out to enjoy life...but then again...He cracked his eyes and let his eyelids hang half-open. He shook his head and then dunked it under the water trying to clear his mind of the thoughts of 'what if' and 'would we' that ruthlessly attacked it. He needed his head clear if he was to go back in there and face Shiba, while trying to read those blasted notes again. |
I nodded, remembering that he just slams his fist into whatever he wants to...explode. I tightened my eyes as the thoughts..of the exploding...and the massive blood splatter running over my/his hands... I grimaced.
I looked up at him and smiled warmly. "It does bother me... When Im fused..they're sifting thought my thoughts and my memories... I don't mean to see what they've seen, or feel what they've felt... it just happens. And I'm not as kind as you think.. I was really mean to Ed the last time we were together.. thats why I think..he hates me.. plus.. i've been keeping secrets from the both of you about my alchemic abilities.. and I think he knows... damn Roy.. I wanted to tell the both of you... but I just couldn't find the right moment." I covered my face. "You..think he'll forgive me?" I looked to him, my eyes glassy. [yeah you better explain that nekked sexy Ed in detail XD] |

"About your Philosopher's Stone?" Alphonse cocked his head. "We figured you had to have something like that to be able to fuse..So..it's not that big of a deal...if you hid somethings from us...I'm sure that you had your reasons." His smile was evident, even though it didn't show on his metal face, and he nodded. "Shiba, there's nothing to forgive, you did what you thought was best at the time, to tell you the truth, I would have done the same thing." |
