I giggled as he swept me off me feet and I swung one arm around his neck as I shut the door behind us.
"I try..." I rubbed noses with him and looked into his eyes. "Im suprized you have enough energy to even pick me up. You should be as tired as I am." I said, though a yawn. "Do you need a shower too? You can go first if you want to." |
He shook his head.
"...No..I'm fine..after talking to Al...I've got a feeling that I'm not going to be sleeping well till these two weeks are up.." He nuzzled against her face, setting Shiba down at the bathroom door. "You go on ahead...you're about asleep on your feet." He swatted her rear, and turned to look out the nearest window, tossing his jacket on the bed. |
"Whys that? Did Al make you uneasy...?" I looked to him as he set me down. I lookekd to him puzzeled as pulled off my shoes. I nodded.
"I'll be quick..." I shut the door and quickly showered, in a slight daze. I finished quickly and came out into the main room in a towel and looked to him. "your turn" |
He turned sideways, and furrowed his brow.
"Not..really...He just made me take a good hard look at what we have to lose." He smiled and nodded. "Alright.." It didn't take Shiba long..just as she'd said...Edward turned from the window when she moved back into the main area. "Mmm...I'll be right out then..." He strode past her and into the bathroom. The water turned on moments later. |
I sighed, nodding silently in agreement as he disappeared into the bathroom, and i thought hard as well. Kiri meant more to us than anything...
I dried off as he was showering and dressed in my pajamas and i climbed into my bed and lay atop of the covers, closing my heavy eye lids, I thought of tomorrows events and what they may bring... |
Edward, long after finishing, stayed in the bathroom...he swiped the mirror clear of condensation, and stared hard at his reflection. It was eerie how his features had almost completely changed on him. His eyes were longer..as was his jaw-line...he started to wonder...was the determined child from his youth still there? He smirked. If he'd chased Shiba from hell and back...he'd venture to guess that was a pretty good idea.
He walked out, head covered in a towel. He crooked a finger through a belt loop on his pants, and scrubbed his hair dry with his other. "You asleep yet?" He muttered quietly. |
I opened one eye and rolled over a bit to look at him.
"Not yet, wassa matter?" I muttered to him, feeling the heat escape from the bathroom just as he opened the door. I yawned again. The dim lit room was helping the comfort. |
He was silent for a moment...and then smiled.
"Nothing, get some rest alright? We've got somewhere to be tomorrow." He walked over to the window, and let the towel fall around his chilled shoulders. He figured he'd be up till sunrise just thinking.... |

I looked to him, sitting up, folding my legs under me. "You sure your'e alright? You dont seem like yourself. You seem... in a daze. And where do we need to be tomorrow, other than with Kiri at 6 pm?" I said, looking to the back of his head. His hair was down, wet, sticking to his muscular back. I looked him up and down, taking in every muscle and curve. The edges of his figure lit up under the bright oonlight, shining though the blinds. I sighed. |
He shrugged.
"No where really, but six comes sooner than you think..trust me" He smiled back over his shoulder as he slid into the window seat, crooking a leg up while the other brushed along the floor. |
I nodded, still keeping my eyes fixated on him. I sent a smile back when he looked over at me.
" I know... but do we have any plans for tomorrow day? Anything we need to do, or you want to do?" |
He hadn't really thought about it.
"Not unless there's something you need to do." It seemed like this was going to be it for the next two weeks...till Kiri was released into their custody..it was going to be mundane activites... "I'm already feeling BORED..." Edward muttered to himself. |
I smiled at him.
"youre bored huh? I have a few ideas for some activity this evening......the hotel has a co-ed hot spring if you'd like to go visit" I said smiling and blushing, staring at the folds on the bed. |
He turned with a jerk..though a snarky grin was already spreading over his face.
"Oh really now?" He asked amused. |
I looked to the clock. It read 12:30 am.
"It's up to you, I could do anything about now. Im tired, but I have alot of energy. If you dont wanna go in, its cool. We can just go to sleep... or spend some time together in here.." I grinned cat-like to him. |
He nodded then, before joining Shiba, flopping down on top of the covers.
"Sleep then Love, we have all the time in the world starting tomorrow.." |
I looked to him as he sat on the bed beside me.
"Alright, goodnight then" I leaned in and kissed him deeply. |
Edward returned the kiss sleepily, he was more tired than he'd originally thought. After a moment he rolled over and nuzzled into the pillow lulling off into sleep before he realized it.
-------------------------------------------------------- God she hurt, Kiri looked at her hand..it throbbed and it burned...all because of those 'tests' Mustang had her going through...wasn't it enough that she was a prisoner here? She curled into herself and hissed against the pain that shot up her arm. ".....What I wouldn't give for a big bucket of water right now.." But...she was Kiri...she wasn't allowed NEAR water till the Colonel gave the order..and even then..it wasn't enough to do anything...she could drink it..and that was it. "....Stipulations for release...it's just a fancy term for a leash.." ---------------------------------------------- Edward sighed and moved into the main lobby with Shiba in tow. He'd gotten them both up with plenty of time to get to the Central building...he supposed now..it was just nerves of seeing Kiri again. |
Armstrong saluted Edward and I as we entered the building. I started walking faster, holding on to Eds sleeve.
"GOOD EVENING SHIBA AND EDWARD!" He yelled in his booming voice. I ducked my head. "Hello Major, nice weather huh?" "ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! WHY, I WAS AT THE POOL TODAY AND GOT A BAD SUNBURN ON MY BACK! BUT ALAS; IT WILL TURN INTO A TAN! AHH THE ART OF THE HUMAN EPIDERMIS!!!" I coughed. "Yeah..." |
"Oh for the love of--" Edward groaned hearing Armstrong's voice reverberate through the whole lobby. He seemed to listen but could only manage a:
"That's nice Major.." at the end of it all. He sighed with a half smile, he tried to go around..but it wasn't any use. Edward sighed, and looked up. "The Colonel in?"He asked after a moment. |
I looked around the lobby as Ed asked the question. Riza waved from the desk. I waved back.
"He is in; he is in his office. Would you like an escort?" He asks. Without even waiting for an answer, he leads the way to Roys office. |
".....Wonderful. Well that's one way to get where you're going."Edward watched as the Major headed off, he shoved one hand into his pocket and took Shiba's with the other giving it a light squeeze.
"Let's go." He smiled starting after Armstrong. |
I looked over at Edward and just smiled, slipping my fingers between his.
"I hope shes okay. I miss her..." I whispered to him. Cough. Cough. Slurp. Mustang sat in his office, reading some paperwork, handkerchief in hand, in case he needed it. He sipped his warm coffee and sighed, eyes half closed. |
"I'm sure she is..besides didn't you threaten some kind of bodily harm if she wasn't?" Edward tried to laugh to lighten the mood..but he doubted it helped.
Once they'd reached the Colonel's office, he tapped on the door and waited. (Stabs short post DX) |
"Something like that" I grinned.
Mustang looked up from his paper, rubbing his nose with the handkerchief. "Come in." he sniffed. The setting red sun shone through the window behind him, casting his shadow across the room. The sun felt warm resting upon his tired back. He slipped his hands into his gloves quickly; just in case. *flails at short post "grown damn you!!!"* |
