Alphonse and Kiri both waved as Shiba moved off the floor. Both the Helm and blonde head shook as they noticed she moved a little more stiffly than last night.
"Floor." "Floor" Their chorused sighs floated over the room in a whisper reaching Edward's ears. He grunted and turned over, his face taking on a confused look as he saw Shiba...not two inches from him. " 'llo..." He said with blink. "What asylum am I in?" |
::I smile and open my weary eyes and look into his; upside down I blinked slowly. I missed his pretty eyes and I took in a deep breath. "Hi.." i whispered back to him. "No asylum, jut the inn." I closed my eyes slowly and held back a yawn. "How are you feeling?"::

"Inn? Inn...what Inn...oh...." He rubbed his eyes and sucked in a breath through his nose.
"I feel like my head is in a vice." He smiled sleepily. "But at least the headache's gone." "You're welcome." Kiri said halfway across the room. "Now that you're feeling better can we move? We're burning daylight." She stood and jerked her cloak up from a chair and slung it over her shoulders. After last night...she didn't want to see another blue uniform EVER. |
::I pushed myself up with my arms and rubbed my eyes, his coat slipped down and I caught it. I grinned and handed it to him "i hope you dont mind, I used this. I was freezing last night..." Sitting up, I was unaware my kimono had come undone, my chest was half exposed[lots o' clevage XD]. I stretched my arms up and yawned again "Okay Kiri, take it easy, we're getting up." The sun was so bright. Even without my glasses, i could tell where Kiri and Al sat from their voices and fuzzy outlines.::

Edward's eyes followed his coat...he didn't mean for them too...but he couldn't help it...and then...they just wouldn't move.
"Shi...Shiba?" He said squeaking. He pointed to her open kimono and turned over onto his back bound and determined to keep his eyes on the ceiling. |
::i yawned and looked to what he was pointing out and stared for a moment, i put my glasses on then I shrieked and jumped up and ran out of the room in a flurry. I had to get my clothes from the drying line... damn that Ed saw too much...
I slipped into my normal garb and walked down the hallway slowly. I didn't really have the courage to face him. I opened the door slowly, and didnt even look at him. I wrapped my painting up in a newspaper and stuffed it in my bag, along with my fold out easel and paints. "Where to?" i said, looking to Alphonse. I had hoped he didnt see; he was so innocent.:: |
The room was silent for a moment after Shiba ran out, then with a click of her tounge Kiri smiled and clapped her hands together.
"Time to go yet?" When Shiba made it back, Edward was sitting up and Alphonse had the luggage under an arm making ready to leave. "Wherever, so long as it's not here!" Kiri was pacing..if she didn't get out of the city soon she was sure to lose any trail that Scar would have left for her by now. More time wasted. "I agree...we can't stick around else Mustang's going to come looking for us." "What about Resembool? We told Shiba that we'd get her automail fixed." Edward looked up from his hands and turned to Shiba. "What do you say?" |
::I slinged my bags over my shoulder
"I..have classes tomorrow. I cant just not go to my classes.." I kept my gaze fixated on the floor. I felt a bit uneasy. I was still exhausted; I didnt sleep too well. My neck was throbbing from sleeping without a pillow. "Maybe this is where we say our goodbyes?" I hid my eyes and sighed deeply. "I can't just skip school... it's important, but I dont want Kiri to be found, so keep her with you guys and take good care of her, alright?" I flashed a fake smile; I felt my company wasn't needed here anyway. Three's company, fours a crowd, I thought. They had no need for my anyway. i tucked my hair behind my ear and looked to Ed "its been fun... but fun always comes to an end." i wasn't looking forward to being alone again, but it was inevitable.:: |
Drastic times called for drastic measures..there was no WAY Kiri was travelling with these two alone. She moved beside Shiba and tugged her sleeve.
"Ane...you're leaving?" She clapped her hands sliently and sent tears flowing out of her face in turrets. "After all you said? You're just going to leave me alone?" If it honestly came down to it..Kiri was going to haul Shiba out of that town herself. With or without her complacency. |
::i frown and put my hands on her shoulders
"Kiri.. it was my parents last wish for me to go to college. I cant just skip out 'cause I'd like my automail updated. It still works fine. If i feel like it, i can always find a mechanic, I just never had the time to search." I scratched the side of my head and looked into her eyes and wiped her tears off with my warm hands. "They will be good to you. I promise. and If they dont, you know where to find me." I sent a piercing stare to Edward. "Take care of her, alright? I feel like she's a sister to me.." I put my arms around her and hugged her tightly, closing my eyes. "Be safe" I whispered into her ear and I pulled back, releasing her.:: |
Well, that hadn't panned out like she'd planned. She'd hoped that would have worked...but it didn't and now she couldn't kidnap her...Shiba's parents meant a lot to her. She returned the quick embrace and nodded.
"I will." "Don't worry..I'll be nice." Edward didn't like the thought of just leaving Shiba behind, but he motioned for Kiri and Alphonse to follow him and he headed for the door. Kiri didn't move. Since she couldn't convince Shiba to join them, she would stay there...Edward was a sure solution to her abandonment...but she just couldn't seem to leave Shiba...and she didn't understand why. |
::I sent a warm smile to Edward, then looked quizzically to Kiri "Well, go on. He's waiting for you. Aniki...Im sure he misses your company." I smiled at her, then back to Edward. "Im sure i'll be seeing you again..sometime Ed, and Al. Just dont forget me." I stuck out my tongue and grinned.

She tilted her head.
"Maybe...maybe not I can never tell." She smiled and turned on her heels to follow Shiba. "Yeah, I'll make sure to treat you to dinner then." "We're going to miss you Shiba." It was Shiba, then Kiri, then Edward and Alphonse followed out of the door. They stayed in a pretty tightly knit group until they hit the street. Then Edward and Alphonse turned down one street while Kiri stayed behind. Edward took two steps before realizing she wasn't there. "What are you doing?" He asked. "We're going this way." "I know..but Shiba's going that way." |
::I blush and smile at Edward "I look forward to it." I sent him somewhat of a loving gaze; I wished he'd stay here with me, but I couldn't ask such a selfish question. He HAD a life to live anyway... He'd never leave the military for a woman, let alone a family. I sighed, Im gonna miss those honey eyes...
I turned to Alphonse and gave him a hug; he was so cold, but It didn't bother me. "Ill miss you too Al, take good care of Ed, and mare sure he doesn't drink anymore booze" I release him and step out, the line of friends trailing close behind. I waved as we got to the street and began to walk towards the creek where I had set up camp the other night. I didn't realize Kiri wanted to follow me:: |
Shiba was well on her way, Edward, Alphonse and Kiri right behind her.
"Remind me NEVER to pick up hitchikers again Al...they only cause trouble." "Now, now, is that any way to make friends?" "I don't want friends, I want to get out of here!" He groaned and threw up his arms. This was making no sense...for someone who was so eager to get out of the city, Kiri seemed deadset against leaving Shiba, and Edward couldn't leave her..what if she got seperated from Shiba? She'd kill him for renaging on his promise! He was caught between a rock and a hard place, so he shoved his hands in his pockets and walked along. |
::I turn around, hearing footsteps behind me and look at them in question.
"What...are you guys doing? I thought you were leaving for Risembol? Why are you following me? I thought you had to go talk with...Mustang, I think it was?" I stood and waited for them to answer, totally lost on what their plans were now. Did i run their plans? I felt bad.:: |
"We wern't going to Resembool without you, there's no reason to. As for Mustang, we're not dragging in there with our tail between our legs and tell him that we picked up a stray!" He jerked a thumb to Kiri.
"But then again she won't leave without you, so we can't either." Edward sighed and hung his head. "Unless something is done, we'll be joining you for classes tomorrow." |
::My eyes widened; I was happy he'd be with me longer but I felt bad about it. I looked to him "Well, why not call Mustang? I'm sure he's wondering about your progress on the chimera... if you don't speak with him, won't he send men after you to find out what's up? The last thing we needs is a group of military surrounding us." I looked to Kiri and smiled sadly
"Kiri... you want to stay with me, do you? Are you going to leave your loyalty to Scar and join me-er, I mean us, unless They boys have other places to go.." I looked to them in question and sighed, shrugging my shoulders. "Edward, I go to an all-girls art college. If they see a cutie like you walk through the door, I'm sure they'll make you strip and pose nude for them. I know I wouldn't mind at all, that automail would be a great add on to a male body" I was totally serious; the girls in my school were like ravenous dogs who practically attacked any man that walked through the door. We always had female models, and it could get boring. I quirked an eyebrow at him "Your body would make a great painting, Im sure of it now." I rested my hand on my chin and nodded, matter of factly, not trying to tease him in any way, but being totally serious. I was always up for a new challenge. I look to Al "I may want to try to paint you as well, if you dont mind that is.":: |
"Phone call wouldn't cut it." He muttered under his breath scratching his shoulder.
"The Colonel's....a little on the eccentic side. He wants reports in person." "Yah...he'll probably send someone out here...but we can handle most of them." Kiri turned to Shiba and shook her head. "Uh un...not a chance..but I don't want to leave you all alone." She almost leapt forward and grasped onto her arm smiling. "We're both strays right?" Edward looked at Shiba, his eyes wide and he shook his head no fervently. "You keep those crazy girls away from me!" He climbed onto Al's shoulders and glared down at her. "I strip for NO one!" He stopped and then thought a minute. "Unless they're cute." |

::I shrug "well can't say i didnt throw any suggestions out there. I smile down at Kiri "Hey, come one now, I can handle myself. I know some alchemy and I have a few tricks up my sleeve" I grinned, petting her hair. I look to her in question "I'm not a stray, I live on the streets. I'm no beggar either..." I groan. "But I do strive to survive" I placed my hand on my upper arm, over my muscle and wink. I laugh hysterically, looking to Edward "Well then, that settles that. You'll just have to find something to occupy your time while i'm in my classes" I twirled on my tip toes and laughed "Alot of the girls there are pretty.." I blushed and covered my face, thinking of Ed naked. I let out a squee and dashed towards the creek "STOP PUTTING THOSE THOUGHTS IN MY HEAD!!" I laugh and run on.:: |
"I know you can handle most things Ane, but you...you remind me a lot of Aniki..and I know I can help you too!" She smiled and nodded.
"You can't fool me..I know my own." "Any sugesstions?" He didn't know what in the world Shiba would want him to do while she was in class...but there was only one thing that he could think of and that would only gain him unwanted attention. His head jerked around as she darted off to the creek, he was still perched on his brother's shoulders so he tappd on the metal head and pointed after her. "That way Al!! She's getting away!" Kiri darted past them, her arms flailing behind her as she ran, occasionally glancing back to the Elrics. Despite her lack of socail graces...she thought she was beginning to get the hang of this 'friend' thing. |
::I stopped, panting at the side of the creek and sat down at the site we were at before. I wiped the sweat from my brow and looked to the crowd that came running. Kiri...was smiling, and looked happy. I smiled warmly, knowing i made some kind of difference in her life.
"well...I have to make some paint...that's what I planned on doing today... that and I have to put a protective coat on my painting. So Ed don't look, or your poor virgin eyes will bleed." I giggle and pull out some half empty jars of paint and i sit on the ground Indian style. I open up each jar and place them in a circle around myself. Pulling off my gloves, I clapped, touched the ground with my index fingers and in about 10 seconds, grains from the ground were glowing and seeped into one of the jars. I smiled picking it up and closing the lid. After the glow subsided, it was the color I had in the jar before, it was now full to the top with paint.:: |
Alphonse stopped only a few moments after Shiba reached the bank.
"Ha. Ha, you're a riot Shiba, really." He hid Alphonse's eyes instead and gazed on at her painting. He'd never really noticed it..but she was amazing. Her hands were slim and pale..and the result of their talent was amazing. He let out a soft breath wondering why he hadn't noticed it before...why he hadn't seen her talent when she'd made that statue of him when they first met....he grimaced. She'd made fun of his height that's why. He sighed and shook his head, content to stare at the light brush strokes of her painting. Kiri and Alphonse..what he could make out between Edward's fingers, were captivated by her alchemical skills, enthralled with the jar that she'd refilled in such a short amount of time. "I don't think I'll ever get used to that." |
[im guessing ed is still on Als head, kind of close by, close enough for Ed to see my brush strokes >.>]
::I smiled and put the jar down and looked to the next one. Before clapping, I looked up at Edward who was oddly staring at me. "W-what are you looking at, Ed?" I glanced over at my painting and covered it up with one of my bags "Oh sorry." I his my palms from him, he still didnt notice, or ask, how i transmuted without a circle. I focused my attention to the cerulean blue now- it was a hard and rare pigment, but I needed it. I closed my eyes and clapped hard and dug my index fingers into the ground. Only a few grains lit up this time and beads of sweat ran down my face as I kept up the gathering energy. I groaned as some pigment slowly crawled into the jar and I stopped, almost collapsing and piked up the jar "Only halfway? Dammit.." I breathed heavily and shut the jar and put it beside me. I didnt look forward to making all these rare paints, but they were the most beautiful colors to use for my paintings. I was exhausted and alchemy wasn't the best solution:: |
Edward pouted as he slid from Al's shoulders. And here he was enjoying the painting..oh well. He smiled and came up behind her as she started on her next jar and the cocked his head to one side looking over her shoulder at the color.
"That's the color you want?" He asked taking the jar. He blinked as he thought he saw a red mark on the palm of her hand..but when his eyes rested on it again, Shiba's hand was turned from him. "No problem." He set the jar on the ground and clapped his hands, placing them over the jar. A few moments and one large flash of light later, he retrieved the jar and held it out to Shiba. "How's that?" |
