Nebraska Senator Sues God for Terrorism

  • Link to BoingBoing article. It has a link to another site within that.

So...yes. Someone has attempted to sue God (if he exists) through religious people and such. So people who believe in God are going to defend him from the allegations that terrorist attacks are happening because of him. Besides, what if God is convicted? What to do now?

I think that senator is kinda a bit wacky in the head right now. Although at least he was trying to get a point accross that it is too easy to sue for pretty much anything. But of all things, why God?

In any case, it's still amusing, mostly to us who don't believe in "God."

    Your thoughts on this?

Edit: Acctually read the full on article (the link within my link) as to get why he did this. Or just read a bit above this bit. It feels like people aren't reading the article. D<

And why does he still have a job? Makes you wonder about people. That’s pretty much the most retarded thing I ever heard.

Aeith 09-19-2007 12:07 AM

...satire? xD;
I actually think this is rather amusing. Of course, if he is using taxpayers' money, not quite so much. That may just be because I'm atheist, though.
He seems to be doing this to prove that it's too easy to file a lawsuit.

Stephanie 09-19-2007 12:29 AM

Doesn't that count as religious prosecution though? And even if he were to persecute a higher being, God per say, and His followers he'd be persecuting a lot of people. There are three religions that "share" God--Christianity, Judaism, and another which I keep forgetting D:
Overall, thats just ridiculous. It was either Hinduism or Buddhism. Sorry for my lack of knowledge there.
And read some of the comments on the page that people left on the bottom. Apparently he is a nut job anyways =/

` Nitemare 09-19-2007 12:55 AM

Lmao.
God is Fake.
How can you sue something that's for one, invisible and not real?
What a moron. xDDD

Sanctuary 09-19-2007 01:27 AM

Is he looking to get smited? xD

People have become so sue-happy.
I mean God, really?

patchy 09-19-2007 01:37 AM

I think it's absolutely hilarious XD

Charisma 09-19-2007 02:34 AM

He's totally my favorite senator now.

kimu 09-19-2007 03:04 AM

That better be a joke article.

Lol but, FINALLY xD LOL GOD GOT OWNED!
What is he gonna take outta god? His children? Half of heaven? Become god himself? I mean seriously, WTF?

  • Read the full article. It's not a joke. He sued since he wanted to show that you can sue pretty much anything or anyone. Kinda makes you wonder if anyone has sued a chair for breaking or something like that. xD

thelittleviolist 09-19-2007 03:08 AM

XDDD

I have plenty of respect for religion, but sometimes people simply take it too far...

You know, I doubt God has any money, so suing him would just cost a lot of money...

Boy, would I love to be the lawyer for that case!

diehly 09-19-2007 04:01 PM

Thats not very Christian

Allucard 09-19-2007 05:14 PM

I think it almost makes sense. If God can really be held accountable for things like;
Sodom and Gomorrah
The Death of Christ
Destruction of the entire human race and all other life on Earth except those aboard the Ark.
The Crusades
The KKK (who claim chirstian values)
(others stuff I haven't thought of yet)

Then I think he should be hanged until dead. Or whatever it is you would do to god instead of a hanging.

neur0mancer 09-19-2007 05:19 PM

xD I think thats awesome.
I wonder how it will turn out...

It kinda makes sense though.
If be belives in a god, why sue the people?
You don't sue an actual object for breaking and causing harm, you sue the company that created it.
Why sue another person when you can sue what created THEM? xD

Dragondude 09-19-2007 05:24 PM

what the hell. i go and take 18 years off with the hopes of a full life time and some one goes and sues me and doesn't inform me. oh is he going to have problems in bed for this. also i'm going to give you a really hard time when you get to my place

Wordstreamer 09-19-2007 06:57 PM

He's right--it is too easy to sue people (or nonexistant beings) and get away with it. It's too easy to sue them for nothing, too.

Funny, though.

  • ['Tis international talk like a pirate day!]

Pretty much. Technically, I could sue a desk if I believed that 't wouild be able t' defend itself/if thar be someone who could defend 't. xD

Some Random Randomness 09-19-2007 07:50 PM

Lmao. What if God loses? What if he's a poor sport and decides to up and bolt the dude. What then?

Re-elections?

Yeah 09-19-2007 07:51 PM

I saw that on the news last night, I think that he is trying to make some kind of point or something, but nobody will shut up around here long enough for me to hear anything. I'm sure whatever point he is trying to make, it's pretty ignorant.

Icebreaker 09-19-2007 08:00 PM

haha...that guy is going to lose money on lawyers, and court costs and etc.( lose money for being a idiot as well)XD
idiot XD
this is a serious EPIC fail

but i think hes just trying to state something
its stupid...what type of senator does that...if i were living in nebraska, i would move
wouldnt trust a cookoo idiot as a senator in my state

siaasgn 09-19-2007 08:08 PM

That is a fantastic way to try and make the point that we allow too many frivolous lawsuits into our court system.
