I wish that...

I could get a kitten...I really do! But my father is allergic and my dog doesn't like cats...It's a shame because I love cats...
So, Menewshan's, have you ever wanted a pet, but couldn't get it because these types of circumstances?

And.....Post!

my dad is allergic to cats. But my mom loves them. she grew up with like 7 @[email protected] so we compromised with him. kinda. he was in the navy and one time when he left for 6 months my mom went out and got us a cat. XD we all got really attached to it and wouldn't let him get rid of it when he got back, and so she became an outdoor cat (that way the hair wouldn't bother him ^^) and she's been a member of the family ever since. Even he goes out and sees her once in a while. <3

Lately i've been wanting to get a cat too. I've actually become quite obsessed with the idea. I think im going to make my husband get me one soon. <3 We were waiting on our furniture to get here before we got one, but Since that wont happen until mid october... I think Im going to try to get one sooner. XD

try to compromise with your dad and your dog should get used to the cat. mine did. >.> cats are le awesome.

I've always wanted a white or tabby cat. Or a ginger cat...Any kind of cat!
They're so cute when they're small...*squees* Actually if I wanted to see cats, all I would have to do is go to the Animal shelter...

Melody 09-25-2007 05:55 PM

I want to get an adult cat though. They are more calm and I have babies that would either hurt the kitten because it isnt bright enough to move away from them, or it would hurt them, adult cats would run from them and know better than to hurt the kids. XD

I was going to be heading down to the animal shelter here soon. I really want a cat XD so I totally know how you feel.

[edit] i dont care what kind of cat i get, I had a calico that ran away, I think i'll just know when i see it in the shelter that its the cat for me though. <3

Yeah, well...We don't have any little kids in our house. So that's not an issue...But right now, I'm taking care of my dog...We only got her about a year ago. So, I have to pay extra attention to her! She's a rescue dog.

After my husband and I moved 3,000 miles away from all our family and friends I was really really lonely. I also got very depressed and was having some serious health issues. After a while I decided that I wanted and needed a dog. I've always had one growing up, and not only was this the first time I didn't have one around, but they provide so much company that it would help solve my lonliness issues. I was so determined that I even went out and bought everything a new dog needs. I'm talking kennel, bed, toys, food and water dishes, the works. My husband thought I was crazy, but after a little looking I found the perfect puppy.

Now shes almost a year old, and my life is better than ever. I haven't been depressed since I got her, and she even makes me more motivated to get things done. And of course, shes spoiled rotten. <3

Alice Seno 09-25-2007 06:21 PM

*squees in delight* That is so adorable!!
Do ya have any pictures of the sweet little puppy?
I love puppies and kitties equally!

I've always liked gerbils. In fifth grade, we had a classroom full of hamsters and rats. I remember my teacher sending some rats home with students once the school year was over, but I couldn't take any. I was even attached to a specific one, that no one cared for but me.

Why I couldn't have it, is because we already have a zoo. And the majority of the pets we have are cats. I know they would destroy the rat, or damage it somehow, even if it was in a cage. :(

Love_Miku 09-25-2007 08:11 PM

i got one cat but i want another but my mum said no

Amo_Angelus 09-25-2007 08:24 PM

I always wanted a cat I even dreamed of my cat called Diablo for years, but living with my mum I was told no and now my tennancy agreement says no. Go figure. But now I'm not desperate for one anymore. My housebunny is like a cat, only he's not going to run off and leave me or get run over.

Alice Seno 09-25-2007 08:28 PM

Aww*squees* You own a bunny? Is it cute?*wants to see the bunny*

goldfish67 09-25-2007 08:47 PM

nope..we have a dog..that would be our reason to not get a cat

Admonish Misconstruction 09-25-2007 08:59 PM

I kinda have enough animals.

Rabbit: Named Rabbit
Kitten: Named Kat
Cat: Named Kitty
Snake: Named snake

I'm original with names xD.

Hazardous Bubbles 09-25-2007 09:05 PM

I always wanted a small dog like a pug or a yorkie, but my grandfather won't let me get one because the last dog he had got hit by a car and he said that he doesn't want to go through something like that again.

Amo_Angelus 09-25-2007 09:05 PM

I do indeed, he is Adorable! His name is Charm and he is a three year old French lop with a horror story of a history. I've had him since July. This be him:

Admonished thinks he has a lot of pets... There are 26 pets in my mums house AFTER I moved out with my lot.

Hmm, yeah I've got a few, but they are rather outdated.

^^ I can kinda understand that. My hubby and I don't have kids yet, but we do plan to start when the timing is a bit better...and the fact that I want to own a house first. But having Coco is so nice. Shes the biggest cuddle bug ever, and I love having a little budle of unconditional love at times.

Kei 09-25-2007 10:24 PM

Aww
D:
That is a rather unfourtunate situation
Maybe when you move out you can get one?
:/

I would LOVE to have a cat, but I'm pretty allergic to them. I start sneezing like a fiend, and if I touch my eyes after petting a cat then my eyes will burn for hours. It's a shame, because I really adore them and I'd love to get into cat rescue societies, but I can't foster because I won't be able to breathe or see.

Enniel 09-25-2007 10:55 PM

i am allergic to cats..but i suck it up :P cuz i LOVE mine!!

Teeth 09-26-2007 03:41 AM

I could look more pretty. D<
Okay...actually..I wish I was skinnier..?
Aside from Looks-wise, I wish I was a faster swimmer?
Nnono..that I was a genius in math. :3
OR OR..That I could fly. 8D AND HAVE SUPER POWERS

Dystopia 09-26-2007 03:48 AM

I've actually wanted a cat for all my life, but my parents won't let me get one for whatever reason I don't see or understand. So I can feel your pain. One day, when I grow up, I'm going to have thousands of cats. And live alone. xD

woopdidoodoo 09-26-2007 07:18 AM

I now have a kitten,
after years of being told I couldn't get one when I was old enough to move out I did and got one! he is adorable and I love him to bits and called him Tyrone. I also have three rabbits and they get on like a house on fire, I hope you get your kitten!

Aero 09-26-2007 08:52 AM

  • I wanted a cuter dog than an anorexic chihuahua with a penis disease so it's always sticking out!

But noo, we had to get what I /didn't/ want. ( No, I didn't really specifically categorize them like that before we got the dog. o-o; )
