there's nothing wrong with being old fashioned. it's all about who you are, and who you feel you are. Me, i'm jsut me and there's no other way to describe it. I've been with yonger guys and older guys, and I love my jared. So i asked him to marry me, becasue i knew it was the right thing to do. He said yes, and 2 months later we started living together.

  • I'd like to see the book you got that fact from.

Well secret I wasnt try to offend anyone, but think about it, men have to deal with work, women have to deal with work, children, the house, in some cases the economy of the house, the relatives and all the rest....you gotta be really smart to solve all that and not to die , believe me Im married this is well known by all married women.Though of course there are men who are really smart and have to deal with all this too , example: if a man is left (abandomed) by his wife and has to manage and be in charge of everything plus his job like his wife used to do and they do good jobs, but it is not the average.

Good for you girl!!!

I'm pretty like secy in how I see the roles of men and women. But just because I'm an old fashioned romantic doesn't mean that if it comes down to things I'll let a man walk right over me. I've been through stalkers, abusive relationships and more besides and when I needed to be I was the one in control. Yes women are strong, but it takes a lot more to be in control of yourself than it does to flaunt your strength. Who is stronger? The woman who tells her man to do things, or the woman who doesn't need to?

Secret 10-25-2007 10:06 PM

  • I'm not even going to make a comment on that because you won't like what I have to say about people who say women>men. or Men>women. ^_^ Moving on.

    Hey to everyone else.

Amo_Angelus 10-25-2007 10:09 PM

I disagree with you trinny. Men and women are equal. Men are better at some things, women at others. I think it's pretty foolish to think of one as better than the other and rather arrogant to call your own gender the better one.

Disagree with me though if you like. I'm used to it. I had this arguement running for two years solid with someone.

Hey Secy! Nice to see you here again. How are you? Fishing gone well?

nescia 10-25-2007 10:10 PM

Whoa. Some heated gender vs. gender debate. hehe

-grabs some popcorn-

Hello, all. ^-^

Amo_Angelus 10-25-2007 10:11 PM

howdy nessie. Yeah this kinda happens whenever people tell me to do something and then I come out with a refusual on the grounds of my old fashioned beliefs. All the girls nearby get super femenist on me.

Yay that's so nice <33 Welcome to Menewsha pm me?
@secret its ok you of course dont need to agree with what I think but it is still what i think
@Angel I didnt say better , better is a very hard word, no one is better I was saying stronger emotionally because they are psychologically different, i learnt that from my psychology class too so it is not my invention.
so I am not being arrogant.

I have to go now, see you tomorrow all!

Sophia 10-25-2007 10:14 PM

niceeeeeeeeee!=D

nescia 10-25-2007 10:15 PM

@Jayms_fallen_angel- Eh. I'm pretty neutral on the whole old fashioned vs. feminist issue. You won't get much criticism from me. xD

Amo_Angelus 10-25-2007 10:15 PM

You know, only a fool generalizes an entire species by a few examples, much as only a fool generalises an entire race...or an entire gender. And just because your teacher tells you so does not make it correct. The psychology teachers at my college all got things wrong.

I'm against femenism. I'm against machoism too, I just like a nice balance. You know? What's wrong with letting a guy do the work? What's wrong with exerting control only when it's needed and in a subtle way? I'm female, I'll be femenine. Taking control the vocal/physical is too masculine for me. I mean I'm one of the guys down the pub but if you want a relationshi with a macho type go for a guy?

Trinitydoll 10-25-2007 10:17 PM

Are you calling me fool?

Sophia 10-25-2007 10:18 PM

Wazzup ppl? i feel so newby here

nescia 10-25-2007 10:19 PM

Goodbye, Sagitar!

Oh, and congratulations, Sagitar and orlybirdy!

Secret 10-25-2007 10:21 PM

  • Yeah, fishing went pretty well.

I really don't feel like going to work tonight, after I worked out in the cold all day. *sulks and whines* I'm too young for this.

Trinity, I am offended simply because, I am a guy. I don't like the idea of a woman being 'stronger' emotionally because she has to work, take of the kids, take care of the house, whatever. I work, run my own house, clean my own house. I don't need a woman to run everything behind the scenes. Much like a woman doesn't need a man to make all the money. I think it's a very closed mind that things men and women are not equal.

But, I am old fashioned. I plan to work while my wife stays at home. This is because I think it's important for the kids to be looked after by their parents. No day care, no nanny, none of that. IF she needs me to hire someone to help out, then fine. all depends on how many kids we have.

But it could easily work the other way. If my wife makes more money than me, and can support a family, I would gladly stay home and be a house husband. It think it's EXTREMELY important for a child to be raised by their parents, not by day care workers. I don't like that people think I couldn't do that because I'm male, and not emotionally strong enough. No offense to you either, but that's how I feel when someone tells me I'm pretty much not good enough to take the 'typical' role of a female in the marriage.

    <edit>

OMG ONE WORD POST! *clix reportz buttonz!!111!!eleven!!* lol

Amo_Angelus 10-25-2007 10:23 PM

What I am saying Trinny is that until you meet every last guy you cannot generalise them all without being foolish. Hell until you meet every last male or at least a majority of them in your own country you can't even generalise your countries male population. Society makes people different! you cannot class all men as less emotionally euipped than women or the other way around. Where is your evidence? How many men and woman did you use in the test that led to this hypothesis? I can gurantee you every guy I know is more emotionally equipped to deal with social and family situations than me.

Men are just as well euipped to take care of the home and family as women are. I know a few men who manage this a damn site better than a fair few women. It's even!

Afterall when we are both concieved we all start out as women. Men GAIN an extra chromosone after a few months. Therefore if you want to say that either gender lacks something, scientifically it would be the female as we have one less chromosone. *shrugs*

Trinitydoll 10-25-2007 10:27 PM

I think you are misunderstanding me, i never said you couldnt but I think it is not the average, and I am again not saying one is better than the other just that women are stronger in that area same as men tend...TEND to be stronger physically I think you guys totally misunderstood my words.
It is proved though that women do a better WORK multitasking than men, I am not saying anyone is better, more than that I think they are equal and COMPLEMENT each other very well because there is a balance, but there are differences, psychological differences. I hope you understand now.

Secret 10-25-2007 10:28 PM

  • Heh. I'm just going to avoid continuing this conversation because I know I'm going to step on some toes. =) Stupid male thinking. You know how we are.

1) you called me fool, i didnt like it
2) read my post and try to understand

Sophia 10-25-2007 10:30 PM

all this posting between u guys is like filling up my email! LOL

Amo_Angelus 10-25-2007 10:31 PM

Trinny, if you don't want people to argue with you don't try and tell men they're less than they are and don't try to tell me. It's not going to work. I have read your posts and I think your arguement is foolish and based on opinion rather than fact and case studies.

But yeah I'ma gonna ide with secy on the refusing to discus this further.

*sigh* I got bored bidding for my crown. Maybe I'll try fishing.

Secret 10-25-2007 10:31 PM

  • I can generalize about men and women in one aspect. Women = better looking. LOL But I'm not bisexual or gay, so I'm kinda.. bias.
