I apologize for not checking in lately. I was feeling rather down. My external drive crashed a few days ago with most of my art files. So... xP
@St Branny: My old notebook used to have only 20GB of space and 512kb RAM space. 8'D I got a new one last December. But I've not completely shifted my files from my old notebook. ... Thank goodness. @Sakura_Madison: Hello, S_M! Don't worry about it. You'll get it sooner or later, like how you got used to Menewsha. xD But if you have any questions about the functions for dA, you can ask me anytime. ^^ |

Uploading them might be confusing at first (and dA changing their categorization every so often doesn't help either, I still get confused sometimes), but once you're used to it, it's really not all too difficult. Let me screenshot the process. I'll post the step-by-step shortly. ^_^ Those two pieces are not bad. The black and white one is fine as it is, but the head of the coloured ones looks a little off (head part too large, maybe?). The rest is good. =D |

Here you go, S_M. I hope it's understandable. I am posting this on a separate post so not to stretch the previous post, which could be confusing to read. STEP 1 On our dA page front, on the top right, the first step to submitting your art work is to click on 'Submit a Deviation', as shown by the red arrow. It should bring you to the screen below. STEP 2 Whatever the red writings say. Forgive my horibble tablet handwriting. XD (3) When you click on 'Choose..' to choose a category your deviation belongs to, another screen would pop-up. For the type of art you've shown me above, I would classify it as (because it is somewhat Menewsha fanart); Drawing & Illustration > Drawing > Fanart > Games > Traditional If you are already used to the categorisation, you can go directly to the 'Fanart' section for it. I just have something against it because of a previous dispute about the dA categorisations, but I'll let it rest. =P After that, it's time to upload your art file. Click on 'Add file' shown on arrow (4). STEP 3 (a) For image files, I believe dA supports .jpg/.jpeg, .gif and .png formats. Select the file you want to upload and it would turn up in the box like so. You can upload multiple files for storage or multiple submitting, so you do not have to upload each of them separately if you want to post many deviations at once. Select the one you want to post and the box around it would turn blue. If you accidentally upload a file, you can always click on the 'x' button above it to delete the file. (b) This is for storage purposes too. A file automatically gets removed from the storage whenever you upload it, and checking this box allows your file to remain in storage. (c) The setting here is defaulted on original size. If you are posting a particularly large file, you may choose to post a smaller one instead and check the 'download' option so people could see the deviation in full size. STEP 4 This is the last step. The 'Deviation Options' should be pretty straight-forward. Allow comments, Advance Critique encouraged (be careful with this if you do not like harsh critiques on your art, because some people could be very ruthless on criticising), Critique discourage and Disable comments (no one would be able to comment on your deviation if you select this option). The DeviantMOBILE option is for image downloading. As in, there is this option on dA where people could pay a small fee to download images into their mobile phones. Blog access should have told you everything you need to know about it. Now, the Creative Commons license is some sort of art copyright protection dA provides. By selecting this, though, you are somewhat giving permission to dA to have part of the copyright of your deviation. However, choosing this option protects you in case your art gets stolen or plagarised. I'm too lazy to explain all the specifics about it, it's better if you read the entire blardy long thing yourself. XD The last thing is to hit 'Submit'. You have to tick those two boxes at the bottom anyway, if you want to be allowed to submit your deviation. lol And there you have it! |
