Oh no, They're gone! GONE! (DANCE)
Okay, so when I was in korea a few summers ago, I had joined a dance club called DEF Dance.
I got hella good, too! Then I came back to Canada and totally got pissed at having to leave DEF, thus I refused to join any other dance club. Then, just a few weeks ago, they were holding a Dance meet..sorta like a competition for hip hopers..near a school by my house and all the kids dancing were PATHETIC. I laughed when I saw this 15 year old try to C Walk. So I thought 'Heck Ill give it a Shot!' So I decided to dance to one of their songs using one of my rutines from DEF, and JESUS did I SUCK! D: It was soo embaressing, I hadnt even realized it had been so long since I was in DEF! And now I also realize I cant do some of the things I used to be able to do. Like play on Heavy at DDR, do the splits, and my C Walking and breaking looks..well..unhuman O__o Not in the positive way. D: Im thinking of self-teaching myself off youtube or something so I can get the hang of it again. So Discuss: Things youve quit you now regret quitting from? Embaressing try-outs? Can you dance? Anything else.. |
i sucks at REAL dancing but ddr im ok at ( and i do mean OK ) i am good compared to the rest of the no0bz at my school but ams pretty llame compared to other ddr-heads
:? |
I know how you feel. D|;; I used to be a really good DDR player, and I've taken a long break. Now I suck ^__^ -groan.- Same with Guitar hero.
|
Haha. It's okay. DDE Heads like myself are people that are easily laughed at. We practice everyday for hours. :3
Its pretty addictive..but..then again, Doesnt it feel awesome knowing you can kick all your classmates arses when it comes down to whos the best at DDR? 8D I love that feeling.. |
Hmm.. I regret getting injured, although that doesn't really count because I had no control over that. I regret it because I'm so scared to start running track(that's how I got the injury in the first place) again because I don't wanna get injured.
But I miss the friends and good times.. despite the massive pain. :/ |
I'm a good DDR dancer. O:
I can do heavy mode. Haven't played for a while though. >_> |
Ahaha. My views on track are the exact opposite of yours! xD
I join track because I love the feeling of accomplishment and those aches of winning. :3 But..I HATE the people on my track team. None of my friends are very athletic so Im stuck with all those preppy stuck up short-short girls. D: & Haha. I used to rock on Heavy..but then I stopped and lowered to Standard..but..Im getting up there again. :3 I can do most songs on heavy..but Im not awesome at them xD |
Haha, I'm a dancer... I've been doing hip-hop for four years in my city's most prestigious hip-hop school, and I've recently started an apprenticeship teaching the 8-10 year olds.
I totally know what you mean though, about your skillz vanishing over time. In my second year I was really good, and then I changed classes and for some reason I could no longer dance. It's one of the things you have to work at constantly if you want to keep doing it. I dance for at least an hour each day to keep my fitness and skills up, and I know people who are even more hardcore. I would recommend finding another group to dance with, or even just doing some solo practise, and maybe choreographing some stuff yourself. |
Well I do love the accomplishment of cutting off seconds off your times and feeling like your getting faster and the thrill of racing and winning a place. But I had knee surgery.. so I'm kindof skeptical to start again ya know? I don't want to have to do the whole crutches for 3 weeks things again.

I never really got into the whole DDR thing..I guess it was cause I stunk at it. I even tried playing it for awhile and practicing, but I could never nosy my way past easy mode ^^; I can dance though, I'm just noth that good at moving nothing but my feet. |
Tomoyan:
Haha. Well Im getting better again. :3 I have to practice ALOT though. D: Its kind of annoying, Im thinking of teaching kids when I get older and better. :3 Eternal: Oh..That explains it. O3o By Aches I was just talking about how your Cavbs (sp?) will hurt to walk on the day after..xDD Ive never had crutches..though they look extremely fun. xDD Pepper: Aww. Dont say that! Im sure youre great in something, if not dance/sing. :3 Black: Haha. Ive heard many people say that. :3 Ah well..DDR Isnt EVERYTHING. xD |
The soreness I can take, it hurts like heck, but I can take it. And while crutches may appear to be fun (I admit I thought it would be fun to be on them myself) it hurts the hell out of ur armpits and your arms are always sore from manuvering yourself around all day. It's horrible!

Being the anime/video game nerd Ive always been..when I went to the Toronto Fanexpo anime Convention..I got to play Guitar Hero before it came out for console..and GOD I SUCKED. There were millions of people playing with their own guitars and acting all pro, and I was missing notes on NOVICE. D; |
Eternal:
Ah yes..They DO look fun but I have noticed it hurts like hell on your pits. D; My friend came in with crutches to school so obviously my instinct was to say "HOLY MOTHER OF JEBUS CAN I TRY?!?! 8DDD" And I could only take about 3 steps before I had to give my pits a rest...that is..IF I was still standing. :/ Balance is a terrible factor for me.. |
LOL, I wish I could dance. I'm afraid that if I start learning now, people are gonna laugh at me... being stupid... trying to learn dance moves. xD
The only 'dancing' I could do is DDR... I don't think that really counts, though. Hehehe... |
PSH. I was terrified about that when I first started, too. I could nearly murder people from laughter when I tryed to break dance or Bokko. D:
DDR still counts! You'd be surprised at how much better you can move and choreograph your dancing when you know how to move your feet so fast, and have good feet-eye coordination. :3 |
I tripped a lot with them. They kept getting caught on things: feets, rocks, chairs, corners, anything. I'm very very clumsy so me being on crutches was the worst idea ever. A couple times I even fell, but I had people who were able to catch me in time. I only really fell once, it wasn't that bad because i fell foreward and landed on my arms.
|
Oh, haha. x3
I couldn't imagine myself on crutches for more then a day, though. *Shudders at thought* I NEVER fall forward, its an impossiblity I have, or something. Whether its trying to land forward in Long Jump, or trying to land forward after tripping over a painted line, I either doa Bum Plant or crash on my side. Nobody has ever caught me. Dx |
I can dance... Just not alone... ^_^;;
|
I'm surprised I fell on my front to be honest. Normally I land on my butt and stuff. Like after running for a while the moment I get a break i fall on my tush or when pole vaulting (when I do it properly) I land on my butt. And people normally just stop and laugh, they dont help me up. But now everyone helps me up because their paranoid I'll get re-injured or something.. I guess that's a sortof perk.
|
Not alone? Oh Ive heard that millions of times..xDD Stage fright? Maybe? o3o
Hehe. Were so the Landing-On-Our-Butt Duo. :3 Well..like my dad always says "If it doesnt kill you, itll make you stronger..' But sadly, his perceptions on what doesnt kill you seem to be pretty close to the edge. O.o When I was only 6 he took me and my best friend out to climb a freaking HUGE cliff that had rocks falling (not big ones) from the top and dirt slides. Not to mention millions of spikey branches. DDDDx |
I love DDR.. But.. I havn't played in a while x.o
|
Haha. DDR is a dangerous thing to get into. o3o
As soon as you stop for a day, you start to seriously suck. Dx |
I've had that problem with my voice..... I used to have a marvelous range, now it's down by about an octave cumulative. It makes me sad...
The same thing could happen to my dance skills. I really need to stretch out and practice more frequently, given that I have no classes but intend to keep on dancing.... |
