Phil Collins
Please tell me I'm not the only one who likes his music!
|
|
I love his music. Makes me think of the brighter side of life.
Ever since Disney's Tarzan, I've been a die hard fan of Phil Collins and even Genesis. Sussudio rocks. |
I like his music from Tarzan!
"Raise your head up, lift high the load. Take strength from those that need you. Build high the walls, build strong the beams. A new life is waiting, but danger's no stranger here..." (Love this song, Two Worlds, the most!) "I'll be in your heart, no matter what they say ...." |

I don't know if I've ever heard that song before. Hm. I'll have to check it out! Anybody who truly loves pop and/or 70s-90s rock has to have heard of Phil Collins! Collins should be the king! DD: |
The name of the songs I mentioned are Two Worlds and I'll Be In Your Heart.
|
I love Phil Collins as a solo artist, but I was never a fan of Gensis. It seems to me that he does his best work alone.
|
Knerd (is it pronounced K-Nerd, or is the "k" silent?), I kind of agree. Phil Collins' song that I favour the most are his solo songs. So I get what you're saying. But there are a few songs from Genesis that I enjoy. Like "Congo", but he's not singing in that song. |
I know of him, and heard is stuff.
I don't consider myself a fan of him. Tarzan was an alright movie. Not really, just the musical score made it alright. (: |

I just think that he has/had more flexibility as a solo artist. Within Genesis, I don't think that he had the opportunity to show off all of his musical talent. |

Alright. Thanks! I agree. In some of his songs, Collins does all of the instruments. But yes, he is really talented. i think that Collins should be the king of pop!, not MJ! Faye, the music is all I listened to in Tarzan |
I love his songs!!
especially those in Disney movie songs.. Tarzan, etc.. |
|
It's nice to see people who like him he is amazing and one of my favorite artists of all time the soundtrack he did for tarzan was also amazing.
|
I love his music. I play his records a lot. xD
In fact, if I break the needle it'll probably be on one of his records, lol. |
I'm not that much of a fan, but I really like his song called Against All Odds. I only know it because the postal service did a cover of it, but it's really beautiful and sad. |
Some of his music can be a bit sad. But I still love it. |
"My mother is in love with both Phil Collins and James Taylor. Both of them sing very well, have powerful songs and their voices are very pure."
|
"James Taylor"? I'll be sure to check him out. |
"He is a very good singer, and writes all of his own songs, much like Seal, another good artist. One of my favorite songs by James Taylor is called 'Frozen Man'. I highly recommend it."
|
I think Phil Collins is an awesome performer, but I enjoy his work in Genesis slightly more than his solo career.
|
You guys aren't alone. I like his music too. I have all his songs from the movie Tarzan. There really great and makes you happy. For me its uplifting.
|
I love Phil Collins. <3 I heard of him when I was a kid, (thank-you, Tarzan) and at some point I branched out and lsitened to his other stuff- only to discover that he is FREAKIN' AMAZING. He sang several Disney songs in other languages, I really liked his Spanish Tarzan songs and his Japanese Brother Bear One. My favorite is the original You'll Be in My Heart, though. <3
I can hardly pick a favorite song by him outside of Disney, but I think I'll have to go with Paradise. It's really sad, though. D: Lorenzo is a really good, too. I found out he sang it after I saw Lorenzo's Oil- it really is a beautiful song. |
The Tarzan soundtrack is one of my favorite Disney soundtracks. My favorite is probably 'Strangers Like Me'
I didn't actually know that 'Sussudio' was his, but that's awesome! I love that song! Iltu-Ooo, Lorenzo's Oil is a great movie! Is that song in the film, or just about it? |
Cerenity- Sorry it took me all this time to get back to you, I didn't check this thread again until today! if you ever happen to swing by here again, I think the song was just about Lorenzo, I don't remember it in the movie. It's a very sad, hopeful song.
