hmm...they have pretty strict rules i should say...id say the most annoying once is that u cant make the same board if anyone else have made the same one or alike...for example : "spongebob is fun...ny" ...and another person made one titled "spongebob no pants" ...the ones that i hate the most is, that it'll be locked...we 're trying to have fun, and before we can do that...we're locked xD

i quite like their no spam rules...it makes the forums look more organised i should say?...maybe.. >.<

KatScratches 10-12-2007 12:05 PM

I like that there isn't any spam allowed here, but it also bugs me a little.
If posting is the main way to make gold, shouldn't they atleast have a forum (like the chatterbox) where you are allowed to just post whatever?
Yes, newbage will probably skyrocket, but as long as the spam was kept in that one forum, wouldn't it be alright?

I dunno.

I just feel like it's hard to make gold without double posting. I always have to wait for someone to reply or go find another topic. lol

MayLily 10-12-2007 12:50 PM

I personally like the rules. They restore order and don't let people spam and create annoying rubbish in Topics. So I don't have a favourite or a least favourite really.

KatScratches 10-12-2007 02:09 PM

I somewhat agree that it is better without so much random crap, but I still think that there should be an easier way to earn gold.

Noyin 10-12-2007 02:26 PM

Im so happy about the bump rule! The fact that in Gaia you need to bump posts for them to be still visible is pretty sad. But not as sad as the chatbox...is the worst place ever.

For the rest of rules, I will probably see when going with them. If the get in the way or just work out fine :)

Melissa 10-12-2007 03:36 PM

I haven't found any problems with any of the rules so I like them all so far.

The rule I like the most is the no spamming one. I don't have to wade through a bunch of junk topics or posts. And I also love that you can't have multiple color posts. Stuff like that is just plain hard to read most of the time.

GeminiKizzy 10-12-2007 03:42 PM

I think rules are good for this type of community to maintain the relaxed but safe feel of this site that so many of us love. However, what is up with having to take a stupid quiz about the rules before you can post? I'm sorry but if that keeps popping up I"m not going to be bothering to show up. It's aggravating - it is to prevent spammers but it is just another annoying pop-up. I appreciate what it is trying to accomplish but there must be a better way.

scatterheart 10-12-2007 04:03 PM

I both love and hate the text length = more gold rule. It's great that it encourages people to use complete sentences and all that, but I think it can also make people a bit unnecessarily long-winded. I've scrolled right past stuff because people were just repeating themselves, probably for gold. ^^; It discourages spammers though, so I like it more than I dislike it!

You should only have to take the quiz once unless you don't pass it.

It's a gateway to the forums for new users so that we know that they know the important rules of the site.

It is also to prevent spammers and bots. *nods*

promised_forever 10-12-2007 04:23 PM

I don't think I dislike any of the rules...

I really like the fact that you can't bump or just post emotes. I hated it on Gaia and I probably would hate it here too. The whole purpose of these sites is to have fun... and I just don't see posting nothing that contributes to the discussion as fun.

And I also like that you can't beg or ask for items/gold. I really don't like beggars. It's nice to know that you are questing for something, but I don't want you going, "I'm questing for ____, please give me ____ gold!"

XeroRyozo 10-12-2007 04:56 PM

Well, I would say the spamming rule annoys me alot.
I mean, it's hard enough to make gold but without spamming you cannot make much gold in a game like this.

But, without spamming these forums become much cleaner.

I guess I have just countered myself.

Ryokumuji 10-12-2007 05:04 PM

At first when I saw all the rules, I was a little bit worried but when I saw them I thought, "Wait, aren't these all just common sense type things?"

The rules are basically the same as they are on any other normal forum, so they're very easy for me to remember. I'm always pretty careful about following rules on these sorts of websites anyway, and since I've been on the internet for such a long time, they're just a second nature to me.

So, I guess I can't say I hate any of the rules. :) I think that the rules of this website will keep away some of the more illiterate types. LOL

Nkauj_Hmoob 10-12-2007 05:14 PM

I guess rules are made for a reason.. I think the rules are ok.

Muahaha, I got ya to laugh! Score. Just proves I haven't lost my touch yet. >3

Ah thats true and makes sense but no reason why ya should hate wanting it at all when there are some of us WHO do enjoy it for its simple abilities that c an be done with it! =P

*gives a noogie*

AkashaHeartilly 10-12-2007 08:20 PM

The no bumping and spamming rules I like. I just wish there was an actual spam/quiz area where you could just post there for the gold. At least it would give us a spam area for when we want to do that.

Post decorating I really do not care about. There is really no rules that bug me.

Casiana 10-12-2007 09:34 PM

I'm getting very annoyed at the anti-gaian community I'm hearing. I'm sure the new test we have to complete in order to post was implemented because of the ads on Tektek. I really don't like people blaming Gaia for all the spammers. It's just where the most people are- where there's more people, there's more predators. All this Anti-Gaia crap is really pissing me off :/

Psychominako 10-13-2007 02:10 AM

I love love LOVE the no spam rule. I think its totally awesome and thats what really made me stick around to learn more about the site. <3

Also, I know its not a rule, but I'm in love with the mods. Not only are they quick to enforce the rules, but they are still part of the community and a joy to talk to. *huggles the mods*

`Rawr 10-13-2007 02:19 AM

I don't like test literate/noob test in the beginning.

Aylar 10-13-2007 04:29 AM

I love the non spam rule, since that always annoyed me on other sites. It annoyed me because it's a forum site, one of the major purposes of being on the site is to talk to other people, not to spam. So I really like this rule.

Sanctuary 10-13-2007 05:06 AM

I love the no spam and no begging rules.

I can't think of any rules offhand that bother me.

Superalim 10-13-2007 05:38 AM

I dislike the double posting and no bumping rule. They counted it as spamming. -.-

darkvineyard 10-13-2007 08:44 PM

Double Posting Dx

I have to admit, I don't like the double posting rule, because then how can a thread stay on the first page?

Does anyone know what I mean? ^^;;

superkatti 10-13-2007 08:59 PM

I love the no spamming rule, it definetely helps Mene out a lot. Even though a few people still come and try to spam, they just get kicked out, so it's all good.
@darkvineyard~ You can post on topic in your thread if it dies to bring it back up. Just not if it's still on the first page, I believe.

Oh, really? Then I love that rule too! xDD haha
Thanks for clarifying that! *grin*

The rule against spamming is awesome1 This is one of the main reasons, why this community is so charming <33
