No, you did not misunderstand me, and I think letting both sides be able to win is a great choice. Although, you missed what I was saying about dying. Dying is an option. I clearly stated that. Unless I misunderstood you, which I very well could have. Anyways, what is your point of view on virtual reality games?
|
I haven't really played virtual reality games, so I can't say much about that...sorry. ^^;

Yeah, that'd be amazing. ;=; I will keep dreaming and hopefully someone will create it, haha. |
I would of course make and RPG but I don't know quite how I would make it differ, But I definitely make it different somehow.
|
if I were to make a video game I would make an RPG and take different elements of my favorite games and meld them together.
Like I would take the gene/dragon system from "Breath of fire 3" of course I would want to make it where there are more types of gene's to chose from and there for you would have more dragon forms :D . (for the main Character or maybe 2 or 3 Characters from the same tribe) oh and also I would add the fairy town from "BOF 3" as well then I would take the 108 playable characters from the "Suikoden" series (or maybe even more then 108) but instead of having a Castle I would like to be able to make my own town (like in "BOF 2")and you would have about 10 or so different house styles to chose from and you could mix and match not just have 1 house style,and for the main Characters house it would be a bit bigger and you could furnish it the way you want, I would also have Gardens with trees(like in "Legend of mana") bushes and ground options so its more interesting and you could grow lots of different types healing fruits and veggies and if your lucky maybe a rare fruit or item :D then I would take the time travel element from "Chrono trigger" and like in that game if you do something in the past it effects the future/present as for the fighting style I think I would mix "Legend of legaia" I loved the Seru idea and being able to figure out the art's. then I would take the capsule monster concept from "Lufia 2" where you catch/find the monsters and feed them and they grow in to bigger stronger monsters and fight along side you :D I would also add the Alchemy system from the "Atelier Iris" games I would have ALOT of mini games like a casino,fishing,hunting maybe an arcade I would also want my game to be a very long game with ALOT of towns,side quest's,and a fun,romantic story line wow that was long sorry about that, I could probably go on forever thinking up a great RPG lol |
All that...just in one game? o.O;;; I mean, I can't even imagine a game having over 100 characters and time travel--it'd get crazy! rofl
Although, maybe if you spread the characters out over several time periods...so that, say, you've got 34 characters in your main time, 11 from the distant past, 7 in an apocalyptic future, 65 in a near future (with a big overlap with the main cast), 20 or so from a hundred years ago... That could be fun in a really weird way. |

Yeah, I've played Suikoden (even got all 108 in the first game) but it just seems like if you added time travel in there too, either it would be crazily long or one of those elements wouldn't be used to its full potential

Actually, charis, if you do time travel with that many characters, that wouldn't be difficult. It's as simple as picking your party on a Suikoden game (er, I'm thinking Suikoden IV though) and leaving them on the boat while your party goes somewhere else. You can also switch them out, take them with you.
It might get crazy, but I think it wouldn't be a problem to do, honestly. Yeah, I may have never programmed games, but as far as I know, characters and backgrounds are separate, it's not like characters have to stay in certain worlds *cough*like Kingdom Hearts*cough*. I think most of the programming issues would come with designing your own town, but it's not like that hasn't been done before. And you need to get on the Xbox 360 or some other next-gen console and see what they can do now with some games. It's amazing! Or some recent PC games. Though you likely couldn't play them on your laptop. ^^; Basically, gaming is taking a step in evolution, you don't have to go with it, but why not toy with possibilities for the future? ;) |
Id set it in the 1920s, with a steampunkish theme. Like, things that would be futuristic in the past?
Id borrow survival elements from STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, and i'd probably base my character designs off of steampunk pictures off of megachan, as well as splicer designs from BioShock. Itd be interesting to have a Deus Ex-ish storyline, but.. I dont know. I can't come up with stories to save my life. xD |
No, I was just thinking with games focusing on time travel, they usually have a small cast and focus on how changes in the past or things from the future change the timeline...then again, I guess I should've remembered that Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, is already an exception to that rule, and that was a pretty fun game...dumb of me, yeah. :lol:
|
Yeah Chrono Cross was a PS1 game, and you have a ton of characters to recruit. ^^; It's crazy!
I want to play Enchanted Arms. ;-; *random* Because I want to see all the pretty waterfalls. The only real reason I play that game? I love some of the music, and the graphics really are that good. I mean, downright mindblowing. Someone argued Oblivion is better, but I didn't see any waterfalls and stuff in that game yet...so I didn't care. XD |
...is this PS2 games, or XBox? I know I've heard of both of them, I just can't place either of them. >.>;;;
|
Oblivion is on Xbox 360 and the PC. Enchanted Arms WAS exclusive to the Xbox 360 but somehow, PS3 got it when the PS3 came out months later. :3
Both are really good, though I'm afraid to get into Oblivion and get too hooked. I might scare myself with how much time it sucks up...kind of like how the internet sucks up my lifeforce. XD |
Yeah, you gotta watch out for that. :lol:
|
Yeah, the internet does. Even over games these days, because I've been spending most of my time drawing and I can't do that while I'm on the systems. I can do a bunch of other stuff, but I can't seem to draw while I play games. It's easy to push my keyboard back on my desk and put my paper in front of it, and just draw and reach over and type something.
Though I'm not drawing right now. I want to work soon on doing the Yuri x Alice picture for Puffy. I got Alice somewhat done...o.O; I want to attempt to ink it, and then work on coloring it, or something...but I don't have a good program to use for any of it, so I probably won't be able to do anything really good. ;-; |
Does GIMP not work on your computer? 'cause that one's fairly useful...
But a Yuri/Alice picture sounds really interesting. Hope to see it soon. :) When I'm drawing, I have to focus all my attention on it. That's why I don't draw very often. :oops: |
