Oh my god. Rock lodged in my foot? PICTURE NOW INCLUDED!
Two or three years ago, I was walking through my house and hit my foot on a decorative polished/heavy mineral rock. At the side of my foot where I hit it, It was a purplish blue.
The same color as the rock. I assumed it was just a bruise. There was a little cut. A year passed and I noticed it. I had suspicions that it just left an odd scar. From that point I forgot all about it. I just had my hand on my foot while typing, felt a little lump, looked down, and there it is. A blue-ish little lump under my skin! I think I've had a piece of mineral rock lodged in the side of my foot for two-three years! So what do you think? Should I get it checked out? Try to cut it out? Maybe just ignore it and have a funny little reminder for the rest of my life? What harm could it do? I'm cracking up while typing this. Its just so random, odd, and ridiculous. EDIT-I has a photo! I have no earthly idea what you should do. Maybe it would be wise to get it checked out by a doctor, but I don't know. I definitely wouldn't cut it out by yourself, though. Good luck with that! |

I say go to the doctors and get it checked out. It could be something or it could be nothing.
If it doesn't hurt when you walk, then it could be nothing. I don't know much about that stuff, so going to the doctors may or may not help |
If it were me I'd cut it out, but then I'm violent like that. That'll get all infected and yucky though. Go to the doctor and see~

It'd be smart to have it cheaked out or something,but since it hasn't bothered you for so long, you shouldn't worry too much about it. Just leave it if you can. So next time some one asks you about it, you can tell them a story. xDD |
I'd recommend getting it checked out but I doubt it is going to kill you or be anything serious. If it was to have caused an infection, you would have known by now. But I wouldn't recommend trying to treat it yourself or anything ^^: That could only make it worse.
Even if it doesn't hurt, I'd recommend a doctor's opinion on the matter. |
Well, if the thing has been stuck in the side of your foot for years and nothings happened there's no reason why it should do anything now. I doubt they'd make decorative mineral rocks out of a hazardous substance.
Though it might be wise to get it checked just in case. Just remember: Doctors are deceptive and greedy people. They might just tell you its something horrible just to get you to spend more money. |
If nothing had happened over all this time, I'm sure it's fine. I've head a tip of a pencil lodged in my hand since 3rd grade. I'm 19 now and nothing has happened. It's cool to show to people though xD

I've had asphalt lodged into random spots on my body several times, and usually I just wait until it either works its own way out, or until it starts annoying me. If it annoys me, I go see a medic and have him pull it out.

Yeah, its pretty funny, but gross.
I can feel it in there when I run my finger over it. Its in the side of my foot. So its buried in thick skin. Which is why it would be hard to cut it out. My mother said she might bring me to the doctor. xDD |

you dont need to take it out, only if its inconveniencing you or something. ._. I remember I fell off of my bike once, and got a goood sized chunk of rock stuck in my palm. Only, i didn't know until it healed about a week later. Up until then, it looked like a flap of dead skin. D: We didnt go to a doctor or anything, dad took out a pocketknife, then dug it into my palm and wedged the rock out. >_< |

"O" Thats neat though, my friend has a piece of rock stuck in her knee from when she was little, and fell off her bike. She doesn't like how it looks, but other than that, Ir doesn't bother her. Maybe I should sugest she go to a doctor, just incase. (It could become infected!) hehe, what a funny topic. no offence. |
Tweasers! I've gotten many a splinter and piece of glass out of my feet with tweasers.
