Cakes are Art too!
Everyone loves a tasty desert, I personally like making them! For the past two years I've been making my friends birthday cakes. I plan on going to school for it, and would love to know what everyone thinks! July 2006 - Katamari Cakes I made these Cakes for Lisa's 19th birthday. The text reads "Happy Birthday Risa." It took me a day and a half to make the two cakes. July 2007 - Deathstar Cake This Cake was for Reesu's 20th Birthday. Took me a day to make just the one cake. It was fairly hard to get the icing to suitable shades of gray, and black was nearly impossible. September 2007 - Fleur De Lis Cake A Birthday cake I made for my close friend Dahlia. The cake is decorated with pure white and dyed red fondant. It's topped with a white Fleur De Lis with a red etched pattern throughout. The blanket it sits upon is made with dyed red fondant. I used a set of stencils to created a semi-ornate pattern on the surface and to round-out the edges. Time to make: 3 Hours July 2007 - Kingdom Hearts Cake - Sora's Necklace I made this cake for a girl named Emily I recently met through Reesu. It happened to be her birthday the day after I met her to do some fabric shopping. I offered to do a cake and she requested Sora's necklace to be the topper. I wasn't too pleased with the end result, but she liked it! Used: Rolled White Fondant and food Coloring Red Velvet Cake Royal Frosting under Fondant Show me your cakes! I'd love to see them! |
I like the fleur de lis cake, it's cool.

I've been thinking about opening commission on cakes... The only problem would be that the person would only get a picture.

@raszala: Fondant is a thick frosting that you roll out. It has the consistency of play-dough and tastes like a mix between marzipan and really bad sugar cookie dough. <_< Not good at all. |

Your cakes are absolutely amazing. Such great skill. I have tried making cakes like that, but I still need a lot of practice. And I don't have fondant. |
Cake is definitely art and those cakes are amazing! They look delicious too! I am so bad at that sort of thing. Mine would be a Death Star after it had been blown up.
By the way my birthday is in February. ;) |

ooo i love to bake cakes but don't get too often! No one in my house eats them and they end up in the garbage. yours are so cool and prety I love the first one and the red and white one!
