I Used To Believe
I didn't see a thread for this topic, so I decided to be the one to post it.
What did you used to believe when you were younger? I used to believe... I can't think of anything right now, but I will add it in later when I am lucid. xD |
I believed that milk came from humans.

This isn't so much of a belief as it is a disbelief, but I really really didn't have a handle on death and how permanent it was... And I don't mean when I was about 4. I remember this from when i was 8 or 9. ^^;
I sort of remember that my mum and I were out walking, and it got all stormy out.. So I looked up when it started to rain and thunder and such, and asked my mum "Mum, will we get struck by lightning?" And she laughed and said "I hope not, Em. Why?" And I said it was because of some story I'd seen on the news about some guy being struck by lightning and dying. And then I said something about "what would happen after if we did get struck?" and my mum said "Well, we'd probably die.. :/" And I was just like "Yes, but what about after that? We can't just END! xD" Yeah, I was a weird little kid. I also believed that angels lived on top of the clouds and that if I wished really really hard I'd turn into a wolf if I wanted to. ^^U And that people in cartoons were real and I'd get to meet them someday if I got famous. xDD |
I used to believe that monsters would appear from the cracks in sidewalks.

Hmm, well, I used to believe that lightning was mainly cloud-to-ground. Also that the material Invar was fictitious.

I used to believe that if you'd die, the world would end and then nothing. For some reason, I was afraid of that. :\

I used to believe my reflection wanted to rip itself out of the mirror/window and kill me.
Or is that a fear? Well anyway, I believed in the normal kiddie stuff until I was about 8. Easter Bunny, Santa, Tooth Fairy, et cetera. |

I used to believe that there were spider eggs in gum because my older brothers told me that... I didn't eat gum for like, 3 years. Mind you, this was when I was like... 5. XD

I can't really think of anything except for the fact you know how kids see blue as cold and red as hot? Well according to the bathtub and sink they are that way anyways. Well when my second grade teacher told me that the blue stars were the hottest and red were the coldest I though she was lying. In fact a few kids from my class didn't believe it, but as we know the blue in the middle fire is the hottest part.

I used to think babies grew in some kind of broccoli-didn't know how though-exactly,
I tried to picture whole theories on that: trying to link the mommies with the fat bellies and the whole "daddy and mommy love each other=baby" info along with conclusions as: are humans born as plants? Are the plants that small so that the mommies can eat them? What happens if the daddies eat them XD XD I was, like 6? I dunno. When my mother finally told me the whole truth on human reproduction, I was actually dissapointed! |
I used to believe that both science and christianity were right but now i know that niether of them are right because both of them are so completely and utterly ridiculous.

I used to believe anything my mom said was right. I also used to believe that secretly, when I wasn't looking, my mom and dad didn't fight. I used to believe that my toys came to life when I was asleep. So I tried to stay awake as much as possible and see them, but I never got to..I still think hat they do when I'm not home...

But aside from that, I believed in monsters. But at the same time, I knew I was being silly and irrational. So I decided that since I created them in my head, I could create rules for them. Like, they were not allowed to hurt me if I was under the covers, or if the lights were on. But I also didn't think it sounded right that I could be so invulnerable. So I decided that there was one super monster that could hurt me no matter what. Except that before he could ever hurt me, he had to run around the world 10 times. I figured by the time he did that, I'd be too old to be scared of monsters, thus he couldn't attack me. XD Such strange logic. XD |
Heh. I used to believe in a lot of things.
I used to believe in Santa Claus, but I thought that he skipped my house all the time becuase I'm Asian. D; I also used to believe that the Tooth Fairy would get angry at my grandma for giving me money and taking my teeth. I also believed that, at nighttime, a parade of skeletons and ghouls would circle my bed. |
I thought that every girl ended up pretty by the end of high school, like a fairy princess transformation. As a senior, I just laugh when I remember than.
I also used to think that I was going to get kidnapped. But now that would kinda make sense... |
