I would SO love to go out there and do some looking around. you know why those are really such good places for sightings? no towns really, no city lights filling the skies so you can actually see what's going on. and there being few to no towns gives lots of room to land in plain site and not have to worry about anybody really stumbling over it.

you know, my dad really never was behind me, but he always was my worst critic when it came to my art growing up. turns out it was his way of giving constructive criticism. I can't imagine him having been downright against my art. Your dad is an odd duck, Leafsy. and for that, he must be shot. *grabs her dad's pellet rifle*

That kinda sounds like my dad... I wanted to go to art college and he called me a "poor fool." In the end I didn't go to art college but maybe I should have, I don't know.

a poor fool? egads he really doesn't pay attention to all of the work various artists do and make scads of money!!! but then, my dad said the same thing to me and I ended up going to college for something else. I wish I had gone for art. I really do.

I understand my dads viewpoint though since 80% of artists don't make much money... there's just a handful that make loads off advertising, which I'm not that good at anyways. >< And it does seem like most artists aren't fully appreciated until after their deaths but I still feel like I should have gave it a shot... oh well, I still paint as a hobby. |
I went to college for accounting.
you know, I hear both sides of the fence about this, but often if you do your dream job as a hobby you will continue to have a passion for it, instead of it being a job that you HAVE to do. While I have heard others that love doing what they love for a living. I figured I'd have a lot of problems in the commercial world. Having to basically ruin what I had conceived and created and thought was just right, to conform to what the client wants. |

How did the accounting world go for you, crazy? Yeah, I suppose you're right... If a client was all nagging at me about not liking my artwork I'd probably snap and yell at them, so maybe its best its not my career. lol.

it sucked. and then as my son got older and needed me more, I became a "full time caregiver of a special needs child" ... in other words, unemployed with an excuss.

I sure enough did! We went to my parent's house and my sister had hidden Easter eggs and then I hid some Easter eggs. He ended up having 25 to find, which was a lot more than I had expected! Then we had ham and eggs and toast and then we came home.
I went to Wal*Mart the next day and bought some cheap Easter baskets for next year ... if I manage next year to remember where I hid them! :lol: And you? |
