rooms
ok, my room is kind of plain. actually, that's an understatement, my room is really plain. like the only decorative item in there is my bedsheets which are some floral pattern, and that's pretty much it. my favorite color is silver, but i can't imagine having a silver room - cringes at the thought -
so, i was wondering, what do you guys have in your room? do you have posters, etc.? do you have any suggestions for my room? you are also free to post pictures of your room if you have any. |
Well, I've got my own house. The living room is decorated with mainly reds and warm, dark wood colours. It's got a light India theme with the decorations and such. My bedroom is in white and greys. The walls are all a very dark grey, because I like sleeping in a dark room. The only colour is a very large wallcloth with the god Shiva on it.

My room is my dorm room currently lol
so half of it is mine, which is bright neon green, pink and orange hawaian floral pattern with random anime and video game posters and figures and such. The other half is my roomies which is the most horrid mix of red and like split pea soup green X___x glad shes not an interior designer |
Mine is in dire need of a makeover. I have this drawn and stuck on the walls from when i was little, and the odd scattered poster to try and cover them up.
My aim is to have two walls yellow, to optimise the sunlight that falls into my room, and the other too apple green colour. A lot of my walls are unseen seeing as my room is so tiny. I'd love matching furniture too. for some reason having odd things really agitates me. |
My room is rather plain as well. My walls are still white, all of my furniture matches, but it's really boring. I have no curtains (but, dang, I wish I did!). The only thing on my walls are a mirror and these cool masks that I have. But they aren't big enough to be all that interesting.
Oh, and my room is filled with books. I have two book shelved double-stacked with books hanging out on top, books on the floor around the shelves, books on my desk, books under my bed, books in my drawers... It's actually kinda scary. |
My room is quite messy I think...
It's full with manga, my drwaing stuff and a lot of dragon statues x3 I collect them. On the walls are some posters from some animes... and of my favorite singer: Gackt <3 All in all.... messy x3 |
I love reds (mainly deep warm colors rather than horrible hot ones) and wooden things so most of my room is red and most of the objects are wooden and on top of it all is mess. So yeah the perfect description for my room. (plus I have three posters Tweety, tigers and one ofOrlando Bloom)

Pale Mauve/Lavender (Depends on who you ask)
With a silver mint green on the skirting boards and ceiling. With a mixture of Game Posters and some interesting framed artwork, and a heraldry thing for my family name. When asked what colour I was painting my room my grandmother was horrified, but afterwards admitted how surprised she was with how good it looked. |
I’ve just moved into my apartment (actually I’m still moving some things), so I haven’t gotten to decorate yet, but I do have a plan for how I want things to look. My bedroom is a pastel yellow (yuck, but my landlord won’t let me repaint), so I’m making it sort of “cutesy”. I have a couple framed pictures, which will match the pastel color scheme of the room. My bed will even match with a quilt. I’m all for matching in my bedroom. It makes it feel more organized and relaxing.
My studio room is going to be filled with artwork. I plan on tacking up my loose-leaf sketch pages and such to create a sort of collage feeling. A small portion will be dedicated to stuff my friends have made for me, like letters, origami, and stuff like that. I want to be completely surrounded by my elements when I’m in the studio, it’s where I am going to be the most creative, and where I will be spending most of my time working. My living room is going to be the Japanophile/entertainment room. I have a lot of Asian inspired décor as well as anime, movie, and game propaganda (mostly posters). Hopefully it will just be a fun place to hang out when all my friends are over. Sort of this spontaneous, crazy fun vibe. I can’t wait to start decorating! |

It's all wooden and black and white and Jolly Roger'd. There's lots of wooden things in my room. want a big ship steering whell but unfortunately there's not room in the tiny box that I live in ;3; |
Well, the walls in my room are colored in some kind of light gray/silver color and all the furniture is made of some light wood. There are only few posters on my wall: Pink, Apocaliptica and of Mystic BMX bike.
I don't really like my room, it looks pretty odd. I'd really like to color my room in white and on one wall draw some street-art style picture. I guess I will be able to do that only when I move away from parents. |
My room is kind of plain. The walls are white...they used to be blue but I painted them white again. The blue was annoying the crap out of me. I have a couple fuzzy posters on the wall and a wallscroll I should really take down. Yeah, but my room doesn't have too many wall decorations (Oh yeah, I have a dream catcher too. Two of them). Most of the stuff in my room are books or stuffed animals and pillows. They are the schizz.

My room is apart of my lounge, kinda coz my place is a open planned studio so its all just kind of there. I have privacy just that its all kind of one large thing surrounding the stairs that go up to the loft. Thats what I actually call my creative studio so its pretty cool.

I live in a dorm, so it's pretty plain to begin with. But I have a bunch of pictures on my wall on my side of the room while m roommate has a bunch of schedules on her side. We have matching desks and closets, but her bed cover is pink while mine is purple. We have a large shelf in the room. She takes up most the shelves with her books while I have plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. The walls, doors, and blinds are white, the carpet is a dark grey, and the furniture is a light wood color.
It's a lot nicer compared to other dorms around campus. |
Ah, I could show pictures. Mine is awesome, but it's a work in progress. I'd been planning a room like this for years, but had to buy the stuff and keep it put away until I could unleash it all.
Now I may have to take it all down and move out of state. XD It's a rainforest theme, with tapestries and scrolls. I do have video game posters, but as they are Hyung-Tae Kim, it doesn't upset the flow of the room. It seems to add to it. It's purple, but still masculine. My bed has faux fur zebra print, and I have a lot of different pillows with giraffes, ocelots, zebras, cheetahs, white tiger faux fur... XD I have willow, which can be deceptively similar in looks to bamboo when stripped, tied together like a little "shelter", and when I finish it, it'll hang over the bed with silk vines and banana leaves... I have vines and flowers hanging from the ceiling, but haven't stapled enough up there. It looks amazing so far, but there are still so many bare areas. I have many fake leaves I can use to cover up more, but I haven't had the time to really work more on it. I have plants, mostly ferns, that are all silk in many different holders... Lots of Buddha statues, mostly small. I have a little wicker ottoman that I put some pillows and a matching faux zebra throw on... I have black curtains over tiki shades, and um, I have a macreme plant holder with more fake plants... I have a tiger tapestry, and this scroll with a zebra on it, that was a calendar for 2003 on one side, and the other was a cheetah for 2004 on the reverse...I like zebras, so... I also have a bronze Asian Elephant. :) ...very third-planet-y like in here. @[email protected] |

With lots of Jade Bratz dolls, Asian attire(Japanese and anime stuff :P), and Sharebear Carebear stuffed animals and cat items. My room looks like it's lived in my a 13 year old, oh wellz I luff it <3 Though I wish my walls were a different color (x_X) |
I've got that wooden paneling stuff on my walls. I don't remember what it's actually called, but it's not painted. I like it though because it gives it a woodsy feeling that goes along great with all the wolf figurines I've got. I've got those glow in the dark stars everywhere. It's really cool to look at at night. There's a couple dream catchers here and there, and a few ornaments hanging from my fan. I have this thing with hanging things from the ceiling. o.O The carpet is a dark blue that I really love considering the color the carpet was when we moved in was some tan/orange/green combo that looked like puke. I've got a bunch of posters around, and puzzles that I've glued to cardboard. There are also some pictures that I really liked and cut out of calendars to hang up. My room is really busy, but I love it.

Its so messy..there are clothes EVERYWHERE. Videogame CD boxes lye everywhere..plushies are invading..homework and random sheets of paper are crumpled into balls on the floor..but the madness doesn't only lye on the ground..my Desks are overflowing with random useless things..inculding food! My walls are COVERED with FFX-2 and Miyavi posters, let alone the photos of me, the Mandarin poster and the drawings from when I was 6 or younger.. It's like a freaking mad house in there..I don't even sleep in there, I'm taking the advantage of sleeping on the couch! ^^ Which means I get to watch TV until I fall asleep considering the TV in my rooms cable went out. D:< :3 Edit: Its wallpaper is blue & white striped and at the top the rim has duckies walking across. :3 |
Bed, bed side table, tv stand/tv, van seat, a tool poster, and two little wall mounted shelves that I keep my figurines on.

My room is boring, but then we only bought the house in August. The walls are a very soft brown and all I have on them is a large dream catcher. My furniture is black and white...oh and the dog crate in the corner has a pink blanket on it to match my bedding ^-^ I think I'm redecorating this summer

I've got some posters up on the walls, action figures on my shelves, and a load of flyers for gigs and club nights pinned up to my noticeboard. There's not much room for personalisation in university accommodation, but I've made the place cosy enough.
Needs tidying, mind. I've managed to get stuff all over the place. |
My mom has this thing against 'ruining the walls'. We have the cheap painted walls where even a piece of tape can take the paint off.
I improvised by having a science project board and tacking stuff to it. I hang decorations like tinsel from wherever I can - like on my lamp and closet doors. I have stuff all over the base of my lamp and desk. I line stuff on my windowsill like toys from 25cents machines and cereal prizes. Lol - but my room is such a mess, you can't tell whether I'm a pack rat or decorator. |
